MAKING MONEY WITH PUNCH
Review of Channel 4: Richard & Judy by
JeffreyB
Advantages: Light hearted laid back format
Disadvantages: A bit to long
...SOME FACTS

THE SHOW
Richard and Judy are a middle aged couple (I think he is a little younger at least he looks it on screen). They say the have children and talk about them and the family often. For most of the show you see the couple sitting in comfortable armchairs in front of the camera. Guests come in and discuss items of interest they normally sit on a sofa or comfortable chair nearby. Richard & Judy
Review of Channel 4: Richard & Judy by
Louise90
Advantages: The range of guests they have on their show.
Disadvantages: Richard interrupts & talks with his mouth full!
...disagrees which makes the discussion more interesting!
Each series of 'Richard and Judy' they hold a book club. Over the course of the series they will review 6 books. They get members of the public to read them and give their personal thoughts on the book concerned. Richard & Judy will then have a couple of celebrities in the studio to discuss the book. Indeed, through their book club I went and bought a book called 'The Lovely Bones' by Anna Sebould. I found this book really enjoyable to read!
If you don't want to read, then why not join their wine club? Each day they have been reviewing a different wine and, like with the books, members of the public will try this wine, and certain wine experts too, and give their opinions on the wine.
Then there is the daily competition called 'You Say - We Pay'. You phone in and give you answer...

Daytime Telly at it's best
Review of ITV: This Morning by
Lizzii
Advantages: The best daytime show on TV
Disadvantages: Where have all the old faces gone?
...Love them or hate them they're here to stay - and personally i LOVE them! For all the people who have a go and have never even watched half a programme then get with the real world - Richard and Judy are the best at what they do, and they do it superbly!
Richard and Judy, Ricky and Jude, R and J, Madeley and Finnigan - call them whatever you want, nothing is going to change the fact that the people who love them far outweigh the people who loathe them, and as far as i'm concerned majority rules!
I only have one mildly negative thing to say about the 'This Morning' team, they have tried to introduce too many new faces too soon, the formula they had was perfect, and why try and mess with perfection!...

Richard and Judy
Review of Channel 4: Richard & Judy by
ricci
Advantages: light entertainment
Disadvantages: you can forget that you're watching it
...So the king and queen of daytime T.V have upped sticks and moved to the ungodly hour of 5pm on channel 4 leaving This morning Richard and Judy less.
Their new show is called and is shown between 5 and 6pm on weekdays. I’ve been off work after an operation for a couple of weeks, so I’ve been watching lots of daytime T.V. So I’ve been able to watch this programme, usually I’d be just getting home from work when it’s nearly finished.
Which brings me to the point that the 5-6 time slot is a strange time for a talk show, it’s not quite daytime T.V or an evening slot. Thinking about Richard and Judy’s former incarnation on This Morning, I’d say that the first difference I noticed was the set. The studio is very blue and turquoise with an art deco look. Judy has been vamped up, for want of a better word: plunging neck lines, short skirts...

This Morning i'm in mourning
Review of ITV: This Morning by
Mrs.Tuttel
Advantages: Richard and Judy (who im not talking about in the questionnaire below! i'm rating the current show!)
Disadvantages: The new 'presenters', if that's what you'd call them
...I'm in mourning (okay, so i'm a bit late, Richard and Judy left months ago, but take pity on me, i'm new to this!).
So, as i was saying, i'm in mouring. Gone are the days when i would be at home poorly but have This Morning to brighten up my day. Richard and Judy's smiling faces (due to all the 'TV makeup'?!?) would wash away all my blues, and make my excruciating stomach ache seem like a 'walk in the park'. Even in the holiday's if my mum had got me up early i wouldn't mind; i'd be safe in the knowledge that Richard and Judy would be there to greet me. And it wasn't even just R and J, oh no, there was the whole gang: Dr.Chris, Dr.Rag, Karl, Phil the chef, and many many more.
Those joyful days are however gone. R and J made the decision to make the move to Channel 4, and have left a gaping hole in my life. A liitle pathetic you might...

DICKWEED AND BOOBY
Review of Channel 4: Richard & Judy by
LostWitness
Advantages: Some interesting guests
Disadvantages: The presenters - kind of fundamental really, eh?
...’d insist on coming in too.
What surprises me most about Richard and Judy, is that the show seems to often attract quite high profile guests, with Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks and Tony Blair all having been interviewed relatively recently. I can only put this down to the fact that the promise of an interview with this pair is certainly guaranteed to be an effortless exercise. With a series of silly questions and all attention focused on the fact that they don’t seem to know which camera to look at, there are going to be no tough interviews here! Another fantastically awful feature is the regular game slot, You Say We Pay, in which viewers have to describe pictures to the couple in return for £1000 per picture correctly identified. I’m not sure whether it is a reflection on the standard of the audience, or a deliberate attempt...

Those of a nervous disposition should avoid
Review of ITV: This Morning by
Saltire
Advantages: Erm... it's not adverts?
Disadvantages: Adverts are more entertaining
...The first thing that pops into my mind when I think of "This Morning", is "chewing gum for the eyes". On from 10:30am weekdays until 12:20, it is a magazine programme hosted by Richard and Judy.
Should you be fans of the pair, please avert your eyes and continue to the next paragraph. Richard is a gormless has-been who knows rather too much about women's gynaecological complaints. Judy is none better. To say she is talentless is an understatement. She seems unable to read from autocue and depends heavily on her husband to get her out of a mess.
Even Richard's appalling Ali G impression, which, coincidentally, made it to number 1 in Channel 4's Top 100 Embarrassing TV Moments (and rightly so) failed to spark interest. In fact, the only interest in his performance was his own. Even Judy was embarrassed.
The other members...

cringeworthy
Review of ITV - This Morning by
kslov
Advantages: variety, cringeworthingly amusing
Disadvantages: seems only to try to appeal to students and the over 50's
...to be experts-Raj the psychologist has about three Phd's and five degrees!
The amount of money they give away is rediculous-in midday money questions such as 'how many legs does a spider have' gets you a grand, but then it's impossible to get through on the phoneline. No matter how dim the caller they will always get around 10 grand with a little help-e.g. only this morning Richard asked 'where does Nicole Kidman come from' clue: Down under!
The crowning moments of the show have to be the 'how to examine your testicles' segment, Richard's Ali g impersonation, and Judy baring all at the tv awards this year. They'll never live any of them down!
No matter how jittery Judy may be or how cringeworthy may be, they are still the heavyweights of morning tv....

Just seeing Richard's face annoys me
Review of ITV: This Morning by
jonathancowley
Advantages: nope, can't think of any
Disadvantages: Richard, Richard Madeley, Mr R Madeley
...I suffer from a terrible anti-Richard Madeley disease that is ruining my life. The only day of the week I can comfortably watch This Morning is Friday as Richard and Judy are replaced by John Leslie and Fern Britton. On all other weekdays I am "forced" to watch Lowri Turner ruining a perfectly good lounge in "Housecall" or Gaby Roslin wetting herself over an episode of EastEnders.
There are so many annoying things about Richard that it is almost impossible to know where to start. I remember once he was interviewing Julia Sawalha or someone like that and he said "I assume you watch The Simpsons" - "No I don't actually" she said. Richard Madeley's seems to want to be like Chris Evans (not a good thing, in my book). Whenever he speaks to a viewer he always asks them how old they are, and he never says "I know nothing about...

Only good thing on at that time
Review of ITV - This Morning by
kel
Advantages: worth watching
Disadvantages: ?
...Yesterday I was sick of work so I laid on the sofa and flicked through the channels and came to This morning, and their were the couple Richard and Judy interviewing a man who can’t stop growing and a man who’s head can drop off. Gory stuff for first thing in the morning. However it was interesting, and I thought Richard and Judy handled it superbly. The man seemed in distress and I felt sorry for him. I’m not surprised they win awards and are still going strong, I know people who criticise them, but they are the people who never watch it.
At mid-day they were giving people to ring up and have the chance to win thousands, and apparently they do this everyday, Wow, they are generous. I did have the urge to ring up, the thought if winning so much money came in my head. And when the contestant is chosen Richard and Judy...
