Advantages: Great for familly and anyone wishing to get healthy and enjoy sport Disadvantages: Too far for me to go
...~~RICHMOND OLYMPIC OVAL~~
The day before we were due to fly back from Canada, we decided to do a dry run to the airport to make sure we knew the route, as it would be the first time we did the route unaccompanied. Mom came with us and she asked if we would take her to see the newly build Richmond Olympic Oval; well you don?t have to ask me twice, I love visiting buildings both new and old ones, but I do prefer the older ones. So after a few hiccups we found ourselves at the Oval.
Richmond BC appears to be the ideal setting for such a sporting facility as the town claims to have the longest life expectancy and the lowest obesity rates in all of Canada, so where else would they launch a new sport and fitness centre, which will also host the speed skating and other events in the 2010 Winter Olympics and the Paralympics games...

So England won The Ashes, as expected only a fag paper between them in the series, the said N-Power Rizla given to Strauss to roll a nice cigar, a very impressive young man and leader. Shame he's South African like half the bloody England team now! The series wasn't as good as 2005, hence the muted post match celebrations, two average teams now 4th and 5th in the world respectively. But what is was, of course, was entertaining and the stepping stone...

Review of Surrey
Advantages: Plenty of internationals in current squad Disadvantages: County form disrupted by test calls
...The Surrey side of the 1950s was perhaps one of the finest county sides ever. The team won seven consecutive county championships. The team consisted of great players such as Ken Barrington, Peter May, Alec + Eric Bedser, Jim Laker, Tony Lock, Peter Loader etc.
Ken Barrington - was a hard-hitting batsman. He even managed the England touring team to the West Indies in 1980-81. On that tour there was the infamous Robin Jackman affair, which needed all of Ken’s diplomatic skills. The strain proved too much for him and he passed away on that tour with a heart attack.
Peter May - was England captain in the early 1960s. His highest test score is 285 not out. In the 1980s he was chairman of the England selectors. His godson is Chris Cowdrey who was made England captain for one match. This was a classic case of nepotism. Peter carved...

Review of Surrey
Advantages: Cheap accommadation and food but of reasonable quality Disadvantages: Everything shuts on a Sunday so if you are in a B&B make sure you stock up on grub
...During a holiday to America I travelled to Richmond, Virginia and had a thoroughly enjoyable three days in this culturally and architecturally rich city.
Getting there:
Road: It is about 2-2 ½ hours drive from Washington
By Amtrak: Very comfortable and cheap but does not exactly provide a central dropping off point
By Greyhound: Cheap way of travelling but again it drops you on the outskirts of the city
By Air: Richmond airport is only really an option if you intend to pick up a car there as it is 10-12 miles outside the city
Accommodation:
Virtually all the accommodation in this city is very reasonably priced as it has a university and has to cater for students for when they first arrive. One useful facility was a central reservation line that could be called to book rooms in the participating hotels in the scheme. If you do...

Review of Richmond
Advantages: Beautifully maintained. Atmsopheric. Tranquil and calm. Disadvantages: Can get busy in high season.
.... These parts of the property will be harder going for small children, older folk and parents with buggies as the inclines and paths to get to them, although well looked after and laid with gravel, are quite steep and can get slippery in wet weather. The whole garden is immaculately tended to and provides a quiet oasis of calm in the middle of suburban Surrey. You can just about hear the traffic noise from the nearby A3, but the tranquillity soon takes over and the brain quickly blocks out the extraneous, alien noise.
FACILITIES
For Kids
The property features a newly built children?s play area made with treated, sustainable wood. The whole play area is underlaid with a rubbery foam to minimise injury from falls and spills. There is also a covered wooden story pavilion ? the property hosts lots of readings and kid?s activities...
Advantages: Quite cheap. Look like sausages. Disadvantages: A pitiful 42% pork content. Quite chewy. Far too much salt per sausage.
...When it comes to meat products I am a very fussy person. Only the best will do for me. But I have only been so concerned with what I eat in the last year or so, and it pains me to say it, but Richmond Sausages were the defining factor in this. Looking for a meaty accompaniment to my dinner one day I picked up a pack of Richmond Thick Irish Recipe Sausages for the what seemed a reasonable price of £2.19 for 8.
Concealed in their rather plain green and white packaging, you can see for yourself the sausages, and from the outside they do look like your standard banger. However, this is as far as the likeness goes. Once I had cooked them, they had shrunk to about half the original size of what they were (not a good start). Again, after being cooked for around 25 minutes, the outside looked perfectly normal; a crisp dark brown colour as I...
Advantages: Good main squad of 16 players Disadvantages: Might be stuck without a spinner soon, still playing division 2 1dayers
...Current county champions Surrey, who would bet against them winning it again. They have a team that excites with Ali Brown and Ian Ward providing the fireworks then batsmen like Alec Stewart, Graham Thorpe, Mark Butcher and the Hollioake brothers behind them. Martin Bicknell (how has he only managed a few appearances for England) and Alex Tudor lead the bowling attack backed up by Saqlain Mushtaq and Ian Salisbury. Plus there is youth comming through like Tim Murtagh and Kevin Barrett.
When you go and watch the Surrye Lions there is a little something else though, there are plenty of attractions for the kids, face paintings, demonstrations, meet the stars and more, and a relaxed atmosphere for the grown-ups to enjoy what they are there for....

Review of Surrey
Advantages: great location, nice campus, great placement opportunities, good graduate employment rate Disadvantages: high cost of living
...I am embarking on my final year at Surrey Uni on the undergraduate BA Hons in Dance and Culture course.
CAMPUS
This University has just one campus, in Guildford, situated next to Guildford Cathedral and approximately a 10 minute walk from the town centre, train and bus station. The campus itself is quite small in comparison to other Universities, which I believe is one of its many advantages, with so many things on hand: a bank, a small convenience shop, a launderette, a health surgery, various bars/cafes/restaurants at affordable prices, a gym, a large library (housing the National Resource Centre for Dance, the only one of its kind in the world) and of course, the Students Union!
The Union, currently under needed refurbishment, offers a range of services and societies which are all promoted at the Freshers Fair which takes...
Advantages: Loads! All round excellent hotel to stay in. Disadvantages: Perhaps not for kids, not in ?touristy? part of town (which could be advantages to some of course?)
...This was an excellent hotel! It?s not the poshest I?ve stayed in terms of how it looks, but it has excellent facilities and is all round a great place to stay. They were chosen "Best Hotel in Richmond" as well as "Best Brunch" by Richmond News readers for 2003. I stayed there for just over a week in September 2003 while I attended a convention for the show Stargate SG-1. And I?ll be back again this summer! It?s also fairly convenient for Vancouver and the surrounding area if you?d rather not stay downtown.
Facilities include a shop with some lovely souvenirs, an Internet café, hair salon and an exercise room with saunas (and a washing machine which I only discovered after I?d lugged my bags several blocks to the local laundrette!). There is a pool and Jacuzzi in the courtyard but they are small. Reception can also fix you up...
Advantages: A team full of internationals and entertainers Disadvantages: Can very occasionally lose as spectacularly as they usually win!!
...If you are, then I wholeheartedly recommend that you go NOW - this current squad is arguably the most talented ever seen in English domestic cricket and you are almost guaranteed to see a good day's entertainment. In years to come virtually EVERY member of the current team will be remembered as one of the county's all-time greats and, believe me, sides like this one only come along once in a generation. I think I'm as qualified as anyone to give this opinion since I have witnessed almost every day's play involving Surrey since the beginning of the 1998 season - and written two books, 'Pursuing The Dream' and 'The Dream Fulfilled - Surrey's 1999 County Championship Triumph', which cover the events of the past two campaigns. If you are interested in these books check out the website at www.sportingdeclarations.co.uk...
