Advantages: Hilarious, Informative, Pioneering Radio Show Humor
Disadvantages: Humor may not be to everyone's taste

Disadvantages: A bit controversial and rude at some points, but not long enough!

...I have just finished watchin the 3rd installment of Ricky Gervais's stand up career entitled Fame. I admit i were sceptical about watching it as i thought it could never live upto his 2 previous stand up shows of Animals and Politics. Turns out it did live upto his previous efforts. The show starts with a run down of all his achievements to date so far stating awards he's won and work he's done. He enters the stage wearing a cape and crown with his name written in large lights behind him. The show talks about Ricky's fame and how he came to prominance through the Office, which he says he didn't make to become famous and jokes that to become famous you only have to do something bad these days. We have a similar game in our house - it is the reverse version where you are forced to imagine a gathering of the most tedious, mismatched people possible to come up with the 'dinner party from hell'. Advantages: Hilarious, one of the best stand ups ever
Disadvantages: May not appeal to none Gervais fans

...Ricky Gervais is here with his first ever live stand up, Animals. I absolutely loved Ricky Gervais in the Office, but i was unaware of his personnal comedy credentials (with him being him and not David Brent) until i watched red nose day where he did a scetch. I was blown away with how funny this was. I was in histerics which no comedian has ever done to me before. At this point i knew that i was a Gervais fan so i needed to go out and buy Animals. The first thing i should point out is that Ricky Gervais is not everybody's cup of tea. For most people he is a bit like marmite, you either love him or you hate him. His humour is very dry, whitty and sarcastic which over steps the mark quite often, just like in the office, but this is in a way only Gervais can and his comedy is very story (quite often true story) based. I dipped into this bizarre hardbacked book when my husband received it as a Christmas present. It's a really easy to flick through book full of imaginary creatures called 'Flanimals', thought up from the mind of Ricky Gervais.
