The Royal Wee
Advantages: Easy toclean
Disadvantages: My son removes wee defender
...My son?s Royal Throne
I bought my son a royal potty from Argos after visiting a friend when he was one year old and Although I considered him to be to young to consider potty training I did want him to have a potty around so that it was a familiar item.
What is the Royal Potty?
It is a potty that appears to be more comfortable than a normal potty as it is shaped liked a throne with arms and a back. It also has a splash protector at the front designed for little boys more than girls. It also has an additional function that is a fanfare sound when the child passes urine that is activated by the sensor. It is made with plastic that is easy to wipe. It also came with a sticker reward chart
My experience
First experience
When I first bought the potty we were living in temporary accommodation so I...

Casino Royale Review
Advantages: Tense, fast paced, engaging action
Disadvantages: Poker scenes may bore some
...Casino Royale marks Daniel Craig's first outing as 007, James Bond. In it he must stop Le Chiffre, a banker to the world's terrorist organizations, from winning a high-stakes poker tournament at Casino Royale in Montenegro.
I was one of those people who was originally skeptical about Craig's casting. I grew up with Pierce Brosnan as Bond and I didn't know if I could accept someone else in that role. Sufficed to say, I needn't have worried.
Craig is a different kind of Bond, he's not as outwardly flashy as Brosnan and he's more quietly confident. But the style, the attitude and the finesse of his Bond is reminiscent of Sean Connery, you could say he is more of the thinking mans bond.
As for the film, it's exciting, well acted, tense and has a great story too. Bond and Vespa have a great chemistry together, as do Bond with 'M...

The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton
Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food
Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated
...Introduction to the hotel:
The Royal Albion Hotel was built in 1826 and is situated in a fantastic location opposite Brighton pier. It is a three star hotel and has 186 guest rooms offering views of Brighton beach or the town centre.
My experience of the hotel:
I spent one night in the hotel in January of this year and for a three star hotel I was quite impressed. I and my girlfriend booked a double room for £55 and it was a spacious room with a four poster bed, couch, satellite television, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely modern bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. When we checked in the hotel staff asked us if we would like to upgrade to a room with a Jacuzzi batch for £10, we said no, but were a bit intrigued to find one anyways - they had obviously given our room away and were trying to get the extra £10 out...

Casino Royale with Cheese
Advantages: read opp
Disadvantages: read opp
...This review is on the twenty first James Bond film "Casino Royale", directed by Martin Campbell and starring Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Eva Green. The film was released in 2006 and was based on the novel by Ian Fleming. Casino Royale had previously been produced twice before, once in 1954 as a television programme and again in 1967 as a comedy version. The initial idea was to have Casino Royale released much earlier, but due to copyright of the name, they had to wait some time before they could make this film. The 21st Bond film also introduced a new member of the bond family and became the sixth James Bond.
I was quite spectacle about this film at first, largely because it introduced a new Bond. I had grown fond of Pierce Brosnan, and he had played Bond really well in his previous film, the best of which for me was Golden Eye. I was...

The Royal Mail is heading for a fall!
Advantages: ok for non-urgent, non-valuable mail
Disadvantages: shocking customer focus
...I've known many lovely dedicated postpeople over the years, and I hope no-one will take personal offence at this, but I'm really angry, and £11.08 out of pocket so I will have my say!
I was given a card by my postman this morning, buried amongst other letters - presumably so I didn't hold him up by querying it.
It said that some-one had failed to put the correct postage on a letter, and since £1.08 was outstanding, I could
a - Go online, pay and arrange delivery - I spent 15 minutes registering myself on the Royal Mail website and entering my card details, only to discover that the postman hadn't bothered to write on a reference number. If I wanted the letter delivered, I would have to wait in and provide ID. Its ADDRESSED to ME, for goodness sake!
b. - Go out and buy £1.08 worth of stamps, attach them to the card, post it...

5 stars for the 4 star Royal York hotel
Advantages: Great location, every need taken care of
Disadvantages: Price!
...I recently had a chance to stay at this rather lovely 4 star hotel in York. My husband is involved with a medical company and for their AGM this year they stayed at The Royal York with a meal at the nearby (if you call 40 minuets on a coach) Castle Howard. All very posh and normally way above my means of expense (for the general person attending this function think doctor, surgeon, well paid researcher), however as hubby does work for them they paid for most of the trip (we had to pay £26 in total, what a great deal!).
Arrival
--------
The hotel is situated next to York train station and has a large car park so it?s convenient to drive too. The hotel is about 5 minuets walk away from the centre of York where there are loads of shops from the normal high street chains to antique and art shops.
You are met at reception by...

Battle Royale: an exciting, darkly comic, important film
Advantages: Stunning commentary on a dystopic future
Disadvantages: Too dark and controversial for some audiences
...note: also appears on my film review website, ShaunMunro.co.uk, and Dooyoo!
Battle Royale, the adaptation of Koshun Takami's fabulous novel of the same name, is near enough controversy at 24 frames per second, unleashing a downbeat, counter-culture, subversive tone from its matter-of-fact opening, to its twist-filled end. Much furore has surrounded the fact that this film is still unreleased in America (contrary to the belief that the film was banned), most postulating that a film involving school kids killing each other is simply too close to the bone in the wake of the Columbine, and more recently, Virginia Tech shootings (which means that things don't bode well for the already ill-fated American remake of this film).
Much comparison has been drawn to Kubrick's cerebral masterpiece A Clockwork Orange, in how both films accompany...

Battle Royale
Advantages: Crazy Japanese violence
Disadvantages: Repeated love motif
...The setting is a dystopian Japan. The kids are boycotting schools and showing alot of disrespect passes the Battle Royale Act. What is the Battle Royale Act I hear you say. Well isn't it obvious? What would you do with rebelling teenagers? Put them on an island and tell them to kill each other of course.
The action centres around Nanahara - a school boy who everyone seems to love - and his attempt to escape bthis blood fest and protect his girlfriend Noriko. The idea is that the kids go off on the island and kill each other only one is allowed off the island after three days as long as everyone else is dead. Anyone who tries to escape has their head blown off by an irremovable necklace.
This film doesn't take itself seriously, as you can probably tell, it's an entertaining story with plenty of violence. The teacher charcter is...

Scandalous royal goings-on
Advantages: Interesting tale of the royal family in the 18th century
Disadvantages: None - as long as you are interested in the subject
...? let alone responsibility. Edward, Duke of York, was a pleasure-loving, extravagant young man whose illness and death at the age of 28 were almost certainly the result of too much good living. The longer-lived William, Duke of Gloucester and Henry, Duke of Cumberland, both had a roving eye and made secret marriages below their station, thus driving the King and his ministers to bring about the Royal Marriage Act of 1772 (still in force to this day), designed to prevent any more unsuitable royal matches.
Yet the most scandalous one of all was Caroline Matilda, whose unhappy saga dominates much of the book. To be fair to her, she was treated very badly. Barely out of the schoolroom before she was married off in her teens to the schizophrenic if not insane King Christian VII of Denmark, she then found out that her husband cared little...

THE ROYAL BORES
Advantages: Maybe seeing Gene Hackman
Disadvantages: Slow boring film
...I don’t know if it takes good acting to make a movie appear stupid, of if this was just a stupid movie, but I kept waiting and waiting for it to get better, and it didn’t.
Movies about dysfunctional families seem to catch the public’s eye. I don’t know if you would call this family dysfunctional, or unemotional, or what.
Gene Hackman, who is an excellent actor, portrays ROYAL TENENBAUM, father of two sons and one adopted daughter (the fact that she is adopted seems to be important to the plot of the movie). He is estranged from his wife, Etheline, portrayed by Angelica Huston. ROYAL is a bit of a con-artist and flake. He has lived in a hotel for 22 years. They finally throw him out after he fails to pay on his bill.
ROYAL has not had much to do with his family during the 22 years away, but since he...
