Learning with Ricoh

Advantages: Economic when bought, great intro to SLR

...for constant battery charging and replacing that make digitals annoying when you spot something that demands a photograph right away. I've used all kinds of 35mm film in the Ricoh and have a preference for bulk Ektachrome, rolled on in small quantities. Producing one's own slides from such film in a little developing tank, gives an insight to the photographic process that is a learning curve all of its own. The camera is heavy by modern standards - but just convince yourself that weight is quality in this type of situation.! It has the usual facility for tripods, and flash, and all the range of colour and special effects filters. This is the system that allows for real creativity - not just standard digital alteration. I use the digital snappers very happily - see review on FujiPix 610 - but that Ricoh was photography as real art.!...

...With the SP C222DN, Ricoh has entered the market of low cost color laser printers. However with the cutting of post, the quality has also gone down. The print performs decently but not up to the mark. The problems start as soon as you begin the installation process. There is a huge guide which has all the necessary details. The instructions are pretty clear. At first, you are asked to move to the -'Software Installation guide' for network connection. You are supposed to get the next set of instructions here, however these instructions are difficult to understand and inadequate. Some very important steps and key points are missing. Along with the printer, you get a CD which contains details about the USB installation. This make things tough as the USB details are only in the CD and thus not easily available. ...I have owned this camera for some time now and i love it! As another reviewer has pointed out that looks are not to everyones taste but several people have said to me how nice it looks, and different, and I am of the same opinion, Personally i think it is a very good looking camera, something that not many people will have. I have yet to come across another person with the same camera as myself, and for someone who always wants something different to everyone else that is very pleasing for me! The quality of the images from the camera are exceptional, I have compared them to other peoples images that have been taken with SLR cameras that have cost in excess of twice the amount i have paid for mine, and in most cases the difference is negligible, and don't forget this is a compact camera ie something you can slip into your pocket...

Didn't Ricoh used to manage Arsenal?

The Camera Case is black coloured throughout. The Case has the Vanguard's logo encased on the closing part of the Pouch. Also the material is polyester and I suppose that it is good that it is not made from leather as the leather in the summer weather reacts to the heat. ...This is a very good camera for taking pictures with easily and of good quality. It is much better than a lot of small sigital cameras, and if you want to take landscapes then the wide angle lens is very useful. The lens is of very good quality, and I would recommend it if you want to take good photographs but with a compact digital camera. It is easy to get the photographs from the camera uploaded onto the computer and also easy to delete from the memory card and sort them out. The settings are easy to use and so overall it is a very good camera. For this money this a very good camera that will enable you to take quality shots and therefore I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend this amount of money on a camera. HOwever, if you don't need 10 megapixels, as many people don't, then a cheaper version of the same camera could...
