...I am new to self tanning so decided to buy a fool proof product. The Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan make up is great value for money - I got mine for £4 from Tesco. I really like the fact you can see when your putting it on and it washes off. When I first tried it didn't go to well but the great thing was I could just wash it off - I didn't have to scrub and exfoliate until my skin was red raw, just a little shower gel and it was gone. I feel the reason it went wrong the first time was because the product was quite thick so I decided to mix it with a cheap body moisturiser, this make the product easier to apply. It would make my face look too shimmery and my face went actually really glittery and looked O.T.T. It made me look orange when i applied it. this was a sticky application and left loads of streaks. Although cheap it does not look nice it did not come out as good as i thought it would.It lasted long but seeing as i did not have a good experience with it i only used it once but there seems to be alot in the bottle . I would defenitly not recommend this product to anyone. It was a waiste of money in my own experience....

...This thing's an absolute godsend. I am not one of the palest people on earth, but I'm also not a bronze angel. I'm that kind of skin colour that suits a tan, but never really gets one in this really nice Scottish drizzle. Anyway I got given this sunshimmer thing a couple of years ago by an aunt who found it all too fiddley to smear it on all the time. She's got a point... it takes time and concentration to avoid the hideous telltale white lines of skin that your wee hands missed on the way to tanheaven. BUT take the time - it's worth it. I find it's good for a quick fix. Someone springs the idea of a night out on you and you want your legs on show, so this stuff's the business. You put yourself in a bikini, the buff, whatever you so wish! It dries as you apply and it's like moisturiser. Pretty quick eh. Just don't put this...

...I had used fake tans before I tried Rimmell sunshimmer and had always ended up with streaks and smudges. The first difference I noticed with this one though, was that the fake tan is coloured when it goes on, unlike the others I had used which were white and developed colour after a few hours. The biggest advantage of having a coloured product is obviously that you can see where you're applying it, and therefore there's a lot less chance of developing streaks. However the colour is very scary when it comes out of the tube - it's VERY dark, but once you've blended it in, it looks a lot more natural. I've also discovered that the best way to blend it in is with a make-up sponge, otherwise your hands will be covered in tan. You can also use this product on your face, although I've never been brave enough to try it. The tan dries in minutes...

Most natural tan!

...I use this product regularly and think it is the best fake tan of them all! My best results have been when I exfoliate before and moisturise 3 hours before applying the tan. So I recommend doing this before you fake tan. Most of the time I skip this step as it still does acheive excellent results. I think it is important to leave 3 hours after moisturising for the skin to soak up the moisture otherwise this can make your tan not develop as deep. The fake tan goes on brown so you can see where you are putting it a lot of the other fake tans out there go on colourless therefore you can't see where you have put it on and how heavy you have put it on. If I buy a new bottle I find the pump difficult to get the fake tan out however it does get going eventually. It does go on streaky however aslong I cover the area with fake tan...
