Rio has a Tropical climate. The temperature can occasionally reach 40°C in inland areas of the city, The official song of Rio de Janeiro is "Cidade Maravilhosa", which means "marvelous city". Review of Rio de Janeiro
Advantages: some good acting, OK story, great music Disadvantages: Nothing new from John Wayne
...Rio Lobo sees John Wayne paying the role of Colonel McNally who is working on the trains during the civil war. He is sending a train load of gold to another town but it is robbed and he has to set about trying to find the culprits. Much to McNally?s disappointment he is captured by the enemy and he has to lead them to safety but before long the roles are reversed and McNally has them as prisoners of war. The two prisoners are immediately set free though as word comes of the end of the war.
McNally with the help of his now two uncovers information on the train robbers and sets about finding them. One of the men sets off back home to Rio Lobo but the other, Cordona stays to help McNally when a young woman, Shasta, comes into the bar who is being chased by the deputy of Rio Lobo.

Review of Rio Lobo (DVD)
Advantages: Breathtaking views over a sprawling, stunning city. Disadvantages: Can be very crowded.
...At risk of expounding a horrible cliché, Rio de Janeiro is very much a city of vivid contradictions - sharp cleavages between rich and poor, favelas and gated compounds, hectic city life and remarkable natural beauty, all mixed-up and poured out across the myriad bays and hillsides of this corner of south-east Brazil. Perhaps this close intermingling of the many facets of Rio life create its very individual brand of chaotic, visceral charm - however, when in the midst of the city, it can be hard to get a bit of perspective. Of course, the famed beaches offer some respite from the manic pace of the streets, but the best way to step back from the city and appreciate the scale and beauty that one loses sight of from close-range is to go upwards.
Corcovado, at some 700-odd metres, is one of the taller peaks around and amongst which Rio...
...it looked nice on the outside the interior was quite cheap looking, covered in walnut dash and plastic accessories. It really wasn't the car I thought it was and it wasn't the car for me. I also looked at an Astra, a nice car, a far superior interior to the 45, but for the money I had it would have been an older car than I really wanted. Then, my boyfriend's dad suggested that I tried our local Kia Garage. I took my boyfriend and had a look, my eye was immediately caught by the Rio they had on display, it was cheap, it was only two years old and it looked nice from all angles.
I took the car for a test drive, the staff were wonderfully helpful. They simply gave me the keys and explained the indicators and wipers were on the other sides than the way I was used to in the Volvo. They put on the special plates and off I went. I had driven...

Review of Kia Rio 1.3
Advantages: One of the iconic 'must see' sights in the World Disadvantages: A long way from UK
...Corcovado
The famous iconic statue of Christ the redeemer blessing the city of Rio with his open arms is about 30 metres high and is on the top of the Corcovado Hill which is about 700metres high so it can be seen from many parts of Rio on a clear day. Once you are up on the Corcovado hill standing under the statue you have the most wonderful 360° view of the city of Rio de Janeiro provided there are no clouds hovering over the statue.
The statue was designed by the Brazilian artist Heitor da Silva Costa alongside the French sculptor Paul Landowski. The statue was built between the years 1926 to 1931 from donated funds. Mr da Silva Costa was the engineer overseeing the construction and the French sculpture concentrated on carving the face and hands of the statue.
We were quite concerned the day we went to visit the famous monument as...
Advantages: Spectacular, exciting and perfect for budget travellers. Disadvantages: Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just trying to rob me?
...Rio De Janeiro ranks amongst the most exotic cities in the world. It's nature attractions are world famous and its people legendary for their party tendencies. Despite being a budget friendly city it also has appeal for those on a 5 star expense account. Like most Brazilian cities it has many problems, its ghettos are to be avoided and the city's gun culture gets worse by the day.
Rio has a population of 7 million but you might be surprised to know that its cousin Sao Paulo just down the road has an enormous populace of 17 million. The city is split between the Zona Norte, the industrial and poorest area, and the Zona Sul, the playground of the wealthy. The city's most famous suburb is Cuidad De Copacabana that occupies a narrow stretch of land between the coast and the jungle. Between Copacabana
and Ipanema you'll find the city...

Review of Rio de Janeiro
Advantages: One of the best albums ever Disadvantages: None
...I am reviewing Duran Duran's CD RIO
A few people have already reviewed this album, but as I have all of Duran Durans albums I will be doing a few of them on here and it's now time to review my favourite one ??
To me Rio is the best ever Duran Duran album, every song on this is a masterpiece and sounds as fresh as it did when it was made and released in 1982.
The song "Rio" became a number one hit straight away after it's release and it proved that even though the band had only been going for a year they were well established and had thousands of fans.
"Rio" really did have it all and the band brought out their best album ever in their history and making it one of the most successful albums in history.
The other songs released from this album were, "Hungry like the Wolf" and "My own way" at that particular time.
Simon Le...

Review of Rio - Duran Duran
Advantages: it feels like home to me! Disadvantages: umm...oh, ok, its vile
...Another Friday night in Bradford, and I'm getting ready to go out. Well, I say "getting ready to go out"...but in reality I am pulling on a pair of jeans and shoving my hair up into a ponytail-in fact I am dressing-down from my usual rather girly attire into something decidedly more casual. Rio's (or as it is affectionately termed by its fans-and staff-"the premier Rock venue of the North") is one of the few night spots in the world that you actually scruff yourself up a bit to attend. It is a commonly known fact by Rios regulars such as myself that you DO NOT wear anything new to Rios, as if you do you will find it ruined in some way or another by the next morning.Just like I ruined my pink dolly shoes. And clothing stinks the next day too, a distinctive unmistakeable Rios smell...you get used to it after a while.
My friends and I...

Review of Rio's (Bradford)
...Essa Rios;
Essa Rios comes to mind as a great performer but he is held down in the WWF For two reasons , his size and his lack of mic skills.
He has formerly been known as both Aguila under a mask where he feuded with the likes of Taka Michinoku over the light-heavyweight championship and Papi Chulo - Each time he has not gotten further than the status of Metal - the lowest card of WWF Television despite the crowd loving this guys moves and abilities.
He then came in as Essa Rios and upon his debut on HeAt scored the Lightheavyweight title win over current parody champ " Gillberg " So all was looking good with Lita by his side they were making a fairly good impact.
Essa then lost the title to Dean Malenko - He was then feuding with Eddie Guerrero over the European Championship. Unfortunatly that is as far as he got. He is...

Review of Essa Rios
Advantages: pain and mess free hair removal Disadvantages: initial cost
...i saw this product advertised on a tv shopping channel and thought why not give it a go!
i was fed up with shaving as the re-growth was fast and the stubble was course. I hate waxing, far to painful. Epilators are just evil, they hurt really bad so that only really leaves the rio presious legs.
It works by buffing off the hairs on the legs and the re-growth is much softer and less noticable. The presious legs also works as an exfoliator, i moisturise my legs daily and i am still suprised to see all the dry and dead skin that presious legs takes away. leaving them smooth and silky
the unit itself is handheld, so fairly small in size. the head of it has a velcro disc shape, which is used to attach the buffing pads on to. it really couldn't be easier. It is mains operated, and comes in a handy little silver carrier, so you can...
