Lada Riva, Da! Spasiba!

...Truth be told, Ive never actually owned one, I would never admit it, but Ive been in quite a few. This is the car made from scrap sardine cans, yet can run on Vodka, that is because, of course, it is Russian made! (In Russia, its called the Zhiguli) In most former soviet countries, including the UK.... ur, sorry, slip of the tongue, we are of course still under a communist Dictatorship (I jest) you will find a Lada Riva, or its variant, or indeed, a Lada Riva Chasis, with things welded to it, driving around at full pelt. The Engine Rev counter only needs 2 settings for display, Engine off, and Full Revs, as Ive certainly never seen a Lada of any description operating under differing circumstances. Old fashioned RIVA TNT

Advantages: Good picture quality (relative to the specs), good price and performance

Did my car have a name...yup...heap o junk

Advantages: It's 'tall'. You can see over the top of most cars

.... We found a second-hand Lada Riva Estate 1.4 at, of all places, a BMW dealer (that's some trade in). The car was three years old at the time (F regsitered) and only had 24,000 miles on the clock. Warm & Toasty in an instant

Advantages: Great efficiency, remote control
Disadvantages: Changing batteries is a bit fiddly

Petrol in the Tank, Wodka in the Driver

The other day I had a ride in a new BMW 1-class for ten minutes, after which I had to stretch for half an hour and my knee still hurts. Advantages: A good card, handles Windows in 1024x768 with no fuss.
Disadvantages: Struggles with modern games, woefully underpowered by contemporary standards.
