...The Riverside Court Hotel is situated just outside Sheffield City Centre within a few minutes walk of the main markets and one of the main Shopping areas of the City. It occupies a prominent position on the corner of Nursery Street, where it meets the Wicker. Historically the Wicker is an area of the City that was once a thriving part of Sheffield with lots of Shops and Businesses. Today it is rather run down, although improvements are currently underway, and most of the businesses in this area are now take aways and other fast food outlets. The Riverside Court Hotel actually occupies quite an enviable location at the top end of the Wicker. ...I stayed in the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok back in 2006. It has probably changed a little now but, all the same the information I can give will be useful to anybody thinking about staying there. The nightly rate at the moment starts at approximately £60 per room per night for a superior room type. The location: The hotel is set on the edge of the Chao Phraya river which is the huge river that runs through the city of Bangkok. It is a bit out from the main shopping areas and the main hub of the nightlife but, it has a stunning river location so obviously if you want this type of location then it is to be expected that you wouldn't be on top of other attractions. ...I recently started a Diploma in Canine Massage and in order to start this course, I needed to travel to Devon and attend a workshop. I also needed to take one of my dogs with me so I set out in a mission to find a hotel or B & B that would allow me to have my dog stay with me. The Riverside Inn was recommended to me by the tutor that runs the course (as the course is actually held in their function room) and they also allow dogs to stay in the rooms. So I booked my stay and headed off on my long drive to Devon? Cost I booked myself into a single room which cost me £45 a night. This price also included a full English breakfast. The Riverside began its life as a Public House called the Brown Cow back in the 1840's, although the building itself pre-dates this date when a license to sell Ale and Liqueur was granted, by a further fifty years during which time it was a residential Hotel without a license to serve alcohol. The Brown Cow changed its name to the Riverside in 1995 following a major refurbishment which was in line with similar refurbishment work in the area. ...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

...The hotel staff was very good, particularly Alan the hotel manager. The rooms were well maintained and all of the staff were courteous and efficient. But the hotel restaurants were atrocious. We tried three of them, and the only food even remotely acceptable was the breakfast in L'eau. Avanti Ristorante, the "Italian" offering, served food with Italian names but it did not resemble Italian cuisine. The shrimp Penne tasted as though the shrimp should have been thrown out days before. No Parmesan was offered when the meals were served. Clearly no Italians were involved in the menus or serving style of Avanti's. The Japanese restaurant (Aji Bou Izakaya) was a tragic experience from the start. ...When we decided to make a return trip to Benalmedina we opted to go to the four star Hotel Las Arenas as it was recommended by friends. It is slightly further out just opposite the Castle Bill Bill and when you cross the road it?s a flat walk all the way to the marina which is away from the large hills on which many of the other hotels are located. Reception On arrival check in was swift and at this time we opted to pay for a safety deposit box we were then handed the safe key and card key to room 524 and pointed in the direction of the lifts. On looking round reception it was laid out with tables and chairs and also had a grand piano, a small bar ,toilets and computers with internet access. There is a large board telling you about entertainment available during the day and at night. The whole area was laid out for wheelchair access...
