Smile an everlasting smile.

Advantages: up close and personal with nature
Disadvantages: expensive and extras make it very expensive

...One of the trips we went to on our recent holiday to Cancun. Before leaving, everyone who had been had said you must go and do the dolphin trip. This review is not about the rights or wrongs of wild animals being held in captivity but about the experience itself. What I will say is that the dolphins are kept in a natural environment so they cannot either escape and predators cannot get in. They are extremely well looked after, cared for with deep affection by the handlers and stimulated and to my untrained eye appear very content. Dolphin Discovery is based at Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya, around 50 miles South of Cancun, which meant around an hours mini bus trip which is included in the price and you are picked up from your hotel. Riviera Maya Diving

Advantages: Crystal clear warm water
Disadvantages: Going Home

...I did my open water course in May 04. I was staying in the Fiesta Palladium grand resort and spa which had a dive shop in it's grounds. I decided to give it a try and signed up for the beginners course, just half a day from classroom to sea. The dive site its self was part of the mezo american reef which runs from cozumel down to honduras. the viz on my first dive was about 30m and the dive site itself (umberella reef) was absolutly spectacular. There were barrel sponges, sea fans, staghorn coral, all varieties and colours of soft coral, all at only 12m. We saw southern ray, baraccuda, trumpet fis, parrot fish, angel fish and many others. As it was my first dive it only lasted just over half an hour and I really loved every minute so I signed up for the full open water course. I did 4 more dives altogether, on Ruina Maya, Ruina...

...We took an all inclusive trip to the mayan riviera through thomson holidays. If you want the trip of a lifetime this is for you. First of all the yucatan peninsula. The attractions are numerous second largest reif in the world so the snorkelling is fantastic. There are the mayan ruins, numerous throughout the peninsula we visited Tulum and Chichen Itsa but there are more. There are also the eco parks Xel ha and Xcharet, unfortunately we didn't get around to visiting Xcharet but we spoke to people that had been and we regret not fitting it in. We did go to Xel Ha, it's an eco park. It has a huge natural aquarium where you can go snorkelling and there are over 200 different species of fish. Lots of walking though as the park is very large. If you're interested in nature you will love the park. Xcharet is more of a cultural park...

...I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS.... The day that I picked this book up, I was around nineteen years old. I read the title and knew, yes knew, exactly why the caged bird sings --if he can find the voice to do so. At nineteen = my age then-- people had hardly heard of or knew of Maya Angelou. Yet there was something about this title that drew me to the book. Was my life filled with so much sadness in the past that whenever it called out to m e in book titles? I suspected the book was one of sadness & I'd not read any of the blurbs about it. So I came to this book unpredjudiced as far as deciding what this book would be or was about. Seems that lots of this book is about Maya . (She was raped in real life and she suffered tremendously), and I'm guessing that some of these writings have come from real...

Disadvantages: Very dated, average British 1960s comedy
