...When I mention Birdseye Roast Beef & Gravy entrée to friends - the look on their face in COMICAL! I am sure everyone has had grisly nasty roast beef at one time or another - but rest assured this is NOT like that… usually. Not only does it taste fantastic with rice or mashed potatoes, it is so easy to make. It can be boiled in the bag on your stove or thrown in the microwave for 4 minutes. The beef is thinly sliced and the gravy is just the right thickness and flavour. Downsides of it are… every now and then you'll buy a pack and find that the beef is cut the wrong way, or with the grain I guess it's called. This can make it a bit tough to chew, but still tasty and very rarely happens. ...I asked for this to be added to the products list as I felt it deserved a mention. You will find this in most Supermarkets alongside the stock cubes and other sauce mix packets. We have here a 30g packet of Oxo beef gravy granules with the added flavour of winterberry (blackberry) and shallots. The idea is to have a delicious gravy, perfect to go with roast beef by simply adding the contents of the packet to a jug, then stir in 425ml (3/4 pint) of boiling water, making sure you stir well to make sure the powder is fully disolved. The result, a rich brown looking gravy, with a subtle taste of shallots, not much flavour from the winter berries, but then again it does say "a hint". I do tend to make my own gravy when cooking a roast, using the juices from the meat, but feel this does make a good standby if you are short of time... Read review

...I was strolling past a shop window the other day when I caught sight of some postcards for sale. You know they had the usual smutty ones that only British people find funny. Then they had the ones aimed at tourists, the ones that demented Tourists pick up when they travel back to the "old country" to send to their friends and family in the "new world". These postcards happened to feature some "typical" Scottish scenes. One of which was a herd of Highland Cows standing in a field. And I have to say that this is a very common sight in Glasgow, except in Glasgow the cows tend to wear Burberry, Argos jewellery and congregate round the tobacconist in Somerfield. ...Walkers Monster Munch - Roast Beef Flavour I like most flavours and brands of crisps but one brand and flavour that have remained a firm favourite for the last 10 year are Monster Munch, Roast Beef Flavour. Packaging The crisps come packaged in a bog standard crisps packet which is a darkish yellow colour. The Walkers logo is written across the front of the packet at the top. The word monster is written is green writing and munch is written in red writing. There is a picture of a pink monster (who looks fairly friendly to me) standing behind the monster munch logo. Finally, the flavour is written in the bottom right hand corner. Price I normally buy these crisps in multipacks from Tesco where they cost 98p for 6 packets which I think is very good value for money. ...I don't think oxo gravy granules can be bettered for taste and convienence. Imagine my shock today when both Asda and Tesco in Southampton don't sell them in jars anymore ! Only oxo cubes , which to my way of thinking is going back years. The simplicity to spoon out as much as needed , without having to crumble in your hands , having to stop and wash them before continuing cooking. The choice of flavours includes beef , lamb , chicken. There is also a choice of roast onion which is suitable for vegetarians.Plus roast vegetable flavour. The granules are great for thickening up and flavouring stews and soups. Aswell as the usual gravy making for traditional Sunday roast dinner just like mother used to make.Without having to add the flour to thicken it all up.... Read review

...As a father of 2 teenage girls who are both vegaterians i guess i should inclde healthy vegetarian options in this op, but i don't like vegatables so i won't (it is my op after all) So here goes 1. roast beef and yorkshire pud i love this but just with roast potatoes and gravy(no veg) 2. steak esspecially T bone grilled medium rare 3. steak and kidney pie with chips and mushy peas (oops that's a veg ) 4. spag boll pasta is the only healthy food i like (as long as it's got pleanty of meat with it) 5. chilli with chips not rice can't stand rice there's no taste to it at all 6. curry beef or lamb curry not chicken with chips not rice 7. roast lamb again with roast pots and gravy (i know it's not very healthy but it's great) 8. roast pork i love the crunchy crackling on this 9. burgers as long as it's beefburgers of course with cheese... Ingredients: *2 slices of white bread, each lightly buttered on one side *Cheddar cheese, grated *1 tbsp sandwich pickle *2 tbsp chopped red onion *Princes Corned Beef, sliced - according to your requirement *Season to taste. Method: Butter each slice of bread on one side. Turn one slice of bread over and place Corned Beef slices, sandwich pickle, grated cheese and chopped red onion on the unbuttered side. ...What is my favourite food? I have often been asked this question and will openly admit that I love food in general. I have never been a fussy eater and will try anything. I enjoy traditional British fare but also foreign cuisine - chinese, indian, italian, mexican and any others that come my way. I diverse, however, and am not answering the question. My all-time favourite has got to be the traditional roast beef dinner. There is nothing better than sitting down to tender succulent roast beef accompanied by cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, tatties and skirlie (for the non-Scots this is a combination of oatmeal,lard,onions, salt and pepper and is delicious). But, hold it, there's something missing - aah, the gravy. No roast dinner is complete without it. And, of course, it has to be made with Bisto Gravy Granules - nothing else... Read review

Imagine a steaming cup of Bovril on a cold morning and you've missed it completely! Imagine if that Bovril was less salty, more beefy, heartier in flavour, and altogether richer and more indulgent with a subtle little alcohol kick to boot. You might be getting somewhere near it then! It's the difference between the taste of a burger and the taste of a slice of roast sirloin. ...Last week me and my mum were going out to see a show, which was an hour away in the car. This meant I had to have an early tea, and on discovering we had nothing quick in our fridge or freezer we nipped off to Tesco in order to purchase a pizza! On arriving at the frozen aisle I was distracted by an array of frozen meals in the freezer next to the pizza's. I knew on first glance I fancied a ready meal rather than a pizza and so I began to search for something suitable! Among the tesco value, tesco finest, weight watchers meals and healthy living meals, I discovered a product I hadn't seen before! The particular product was Tesco; British Cuisine, Roast Beef Dinner.
