...One game I have always loved is Guitar Hero...I bought the original the day it came out. But I'm a drummer, have been for years so I always thought how cool it would be to have a drum game. Then I heard about Rock Band! First off this game makes the best of both worlds...you can get your mates around and have a full band session or you can go solo and plough through career mode. Rock Band Rocks My Socks!

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: You may need to make a few modifications to your kit, worth it though.

...I first played this game at my uncle's house, and within about 5 seconds I was addicted. At this point I had already played the games predecessor 'Guitar Hero', and so had an understanding of this sort of game, particularly the guitar. Rock Band, however, is far better. Like Guitar Hero, Rock Band is split into four difficulties. Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert. You can do a solo tour and play all the songs in sequence at different difficulties (easy has a few less songs than the other difficulties, which makes sense, since some rhythms can only go so easy). On multiplayer the format changes, and you play in different cities and venues, gaining 'stars' to move on with the plot of the game. You can have up to 5 stars, depending on how well you play the song. I don't think you can get less than 3 or you won't complete the track...

...Rock Band is a step in the right direction for any musical gamer. Obviously a move onwards from the Guitar Hero franchise with the inclusion of a drum kit and a microphone. The guitar is practically the same as any of the guitar hero guitars, but with a few tweaks such as the solo buttons which are very difficult to use and aren't really needed. Therefore the guitar isn't really a must have if you already have a guitar hero guitar. However if you don't then get the whole band set as the variety offered by having so many instruments is endless and playing with friends or online is one of the best things about the game. The solo careers are good too with a good tracklist which ranges dramatically and also new downloadable tracks every week in case you get bored of the same tunes over and over again. ...Unless you just aren't a very big fan of it, or you've been living under a rock for about 5 years, the chances are that you've heard of Guitar Hero. Yes, created by Harmonix, it was an instant hit, and one that spawned two sequels thereafter. However, after its publisher RedOctane was bought by Activision, therefore giving them the rights to paste Guitar Hero everywhere, Harmonix was also bought up, this time by MTV networks. So after going back to the drawing board for a while, Harmonix teamed up with EA in order to create a new music game that would use more than just a guitar. Rock band Is Rock solid

...Ok, before I begin; I'm reviewing the GAME ITSELF, NOT THE PERIPHERALS, because they're too expensive for me. So people who have rated this one star are obviously unaware that this is just the game and/or you can use the Guitar Hero 3 controller along with the Xbox Live headset. Now that's clear, I must tell you that this game is brilliant! A lot better than Guitar Hero 3, in my opinion. Firstly, being able to customise your band members is a real treat, and it's even better if your avatar looks like you. speaking of which, the graphics are a lot better in Rock Band than Guitar Hero 3, although it doesn't necessarily matter in games like this. The setlist is fantastic, and this is reinforced with all the great downloadable songs from the Live Marketplace. Some of my favourite songs are on it! The Big Rock endings are a fun addition...

...if you are not experienced in music. You truely feel like a member of a rock band when you are sitting on the drums. The singing is hard for most people, especially myself because I am tone deaf. Me and my friends just hum along and get close enough. The song selection is very broad and can entertain anyone who enjoys music. Overall the game play is quite fun except for the singing, but that is only because none of my friends can sing. Graphics/Sound- The graphics are similar to guitar hero. They aren't excellent but they do the job. The sound is what you make it and there is not much more to say. Advantages: Very fun, easy to pick up, lots of different modes
Disadvantages: Difficult to get good, expensive, but if you have the money its definitely worth it

...When Guitar Hero came out, I fell in love with it immediately. I thought it was very clever to fuse a games console with instruments. However, after playing it for so long, it did get a fair bit boring, and I only had one guitar therefore only one person could play at a time. When Rock Band came out, I vowed to buy it after hearing there was a drum kit included - I only hope it didn't annoy the neighbours as a normal drum kit would! The actual Rock Band disc was similar to Guitar Hero, basically full of songs (although had a lot more features like Freestyle and a mode where you could create your own songs which was very fun!) that you play along to with the instruments.
