Rockford Files
Advantages: good stories, good memories
Disadvantages: may be dated for some
...Rockford (James Garner) is a private investigator who lives and works from his beach trailer in LA. A likeable ex-con Rockford often skirts on the edges of the law to ensure that he gets his $200 a day (plus expenses) to solve all kinds of mysteries/crimes from fraud and kidnappings to suspicious deaths and robberies, he has a quarter page advertisement in the paper and the show often starts with an answer machine message that usually has nothing to do with the show that is about to start, and he drives a gold Pontiac Firebird.
I think as with all shows of the genre (even with modern shows, but more so back then) that the attraction is the "how" and by that I mean how the cop/detective gets his man, Columbo used to be great at this, with Peter Falk coming across as a scruffy, almost slow witted kind of guy, but we all know that the "let me...

Good MP3/CD player, smart appearance
Advantages: Good CD/MP3 sound quality; looks smart
Disadvantages: Slightly "cheap" quality; clips 1st second of MP3s; relatively expensive
...annoying.
Ease of use
The control panel is generally intuitive and easy to use, following general conventional interface design. Unlike many in-car players, there are ten numbered preset buttons, although the presets 7-0 are accessed via a "shift"-style button, these buttons having other purposes otherwise. In addition, most of the buttons have a different action depending on whether you briefly press them, or hold the button down.
Recommendation?
I would have recommended this to potential buyers at the time I bought it, but this model is no longer available new. Also, there are now units that support other formats, such as WMA, and DVDs for additional storage. I would still recommend Rockford Fosgate as a brand to consider. Their products are generally a bit more expensive, but overall I am pleased...

Amped Out!
Advantages: Very Funny, really quirky, very good to pick up and play, value for money ++
Disadvantages: might be to strange for some
...Amped 3 is the third game in a line of snowboarding games from Indie Built/2K Sports and it expands on the previous two games in the fact that again it is a X-Box exclusive. The game was released with the console as part of the launch line ups therefore one of the first next generation games available.
Amped 3 is as i said a snowboarding game, but there are things in this game which set it apart from rivals such as the SSX series. Not only is your character fully customisable from what hair style they have to what shoes they wear and everything inbetween, Amped 3 is also a sandbox game but i will come onto that later in the review.
The story to Amped 3 is very light hearted as is to be expected, it is after all a sports game so there is no sweeping and epic story line here. You and your bunch of friends wand to become...

Amped 3
Advantages: Long lasting, Great cutscenes
Disadvantages: No online play, Lacking graphics
...Amped 3 is one of the Xbox 360's launch titles but is it one of the better ones? We shall see..
Gameplay:
When you first look at Amped 3 you may think it is just one of your typical snowboarding games, just another SSX you may say, well you are wrong. Amped 3 has its own unique playing style, yes the controls are similar to other snowboarding games, yes the moves are the same, but that is where the similarities end. Amped 3 puts you in the role of a young man in a snowboarding crew, and it starts you off in a giant pink bunny suit, strange I know. Anyway you need to go round the mountains, and I say mountains because there are about 8 mountains in total for you to explore, however they need to be unlocked by completing the story mode first. You need to complete various tasks on the mountains, from grinding challenges, to impressing...

THE GAME TRUELY GETS YOU AMPED!
Advantages: READ OPINON :)
Disadvantages: READ OPINON :)
...The snowboarding genre is kind of an old one now.. original extreme sport games like Coolboarders, 1080 really brough extreme sports to the table, bringing oportunaties for games like Tony Hawk and Dave Mirra. However the snowboarding genre really hit our hearts when games like SSX was released, inventing the enjoyment of fantasy snowboarding. Remember Games like Pro Boarder for the PS1 that was a great fresh attempt for the console generation.
With such games like SSX franchises topping the PS2 console chart for the extreme sports genre, we can't help but expect more of the same insane air, fun-nutty tricks, and all-out wacky characters in their snowboarding game...Then we got Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding, how can people not be excited for a fresh new snowboarding game other than the great SSX, i was definately excited..for one its...

Surely the amp of the decade!
Advantages: Simple Operation. Ease of set up. Fantastic value for money. Great sound.
Disadvantages: None
...I purchased my A5 a sevenoaks hifi outlet. They were very helpful and most of their stores have a listening room. I had the advantage of trying the A5 with all sorts of combinations of speaker and I also tried other amps in the price range. The A5 comes in a ultra sleek casing which at first glance will maybe give you a little uncertainty as to how to place it. Whist the casing is futuristic in style it could also be coined as retro. Whatever way you view it the sturdy aluminium looking case will appeal to all but the most difficult to impress type. Now for the good bit. To put the picture in context I was upgrading from a amp in the £400 range so maybe it wouldnt of taken to much to impress me? Right? Wrong!! As a proffesional musician I have been used to hearing live music and hopefully have a reasonable ear. I had brought along 3...

Crank up the Amp
Advantages: Extremely powerful, especially for visualisations
Disadvantages: Sound can break up sometimes
...In the past years downloading music off the Internet has become very popular, with programs such as Napster, Morpheus and Audiogalaxy. But once you have the music, you need an application to play it. Having tried Microsoft's Media Player, Nullsoft's Winamp and various freeware programs, I have found Winamp to perform the best.
There are three versions of WinAmp you can download: Standard, Medium or Full. I downloaded the full program, which includes support for WMA files and includes extras such as the visualiser program. Installing Winamp is a very easy, uncomplicated process. Simply run the setup program, specify where you want to install the application, fill in a few more details and there you are!
The main application is skin based. This is especially useful to those who like to personalise their computer or turn it into...

V-Amp2 - A rack of amps and effects at a low cost
Advantages: A multitude of sounds easily accessed at a low price
Disadvantages: No power off switch, some bits hard to get at
...I am actually reviewing the V-Amp 2 as that is what I have and is the newer version.
The vamp is a similar unit to the POD in tat it is an amp modelling unit with multiple effects but costs about half as much. I have tried both and cannot see any real difference in quality.
There are a number of Amps accessable and also speaker emulations. Also the usual effects (Echo, Phaser, Compressor etc). You can only use one effect at a time and that is a little limiting however with the amps you get a very good variety.
From clean through blues amps to out and out hard rock you can get the sound you want. It is easy to access the presets but you will soon find yourself modifying them and saving your own. This is fairly easy to do but you will need to read the manual (This can be confusing but if you take one thing at a time you will get...

Bullet Amp an Excellent starter
Advantages: Perfect for the beginner, great clean tone, 3 band eq.
Disadvantages: Distortion circuit not the greatest, no reverb
...I bought a Fender Bullet 15 amplifier when I wanted an amp with a good clean tone. The salesman at Sam Ash in NYC took me immediately to the Bullet 15 and I was not disappointed. I play almost exclusively in the bedroom of my apartment and the Bullet fit perfectly. It was loud enough with its distorted tone if I wanted to shake the walls but its real value is in its clean tone. It is the classic Fender clean tone. The amp has 3-band equalization to adjust the sound to your liking. For an amp that cost about $100, you can't go wrong if you want a great clean tone in a small package. However, if you want distortion, I wouldn't recommend this product. The Fender distortion circuit is not the best, if you are looking for distortion, look at Marshall or Laney. But for clean tone and a great price for a starter amp, you can't go wrong...

WinAMP - it really whips the Llama's ass
Advantages: Quick, simple, easy, free, does exactly what it says on the tin
Disadvantages: Skins can be a little tame, but who cares?
...Let's be honest with ourselves. Windows Media Player is rubbish. So's RealPlayer. It's all cunningly designed bloatware, and if you're using a substandard PC like me, you'll know that both programs take a mild eternity to load.
And what about privacy? RealPlayer and WMP are so web-integrated that you can't even put a audio CD in your PC without Bill Gates knowing. Do you really want Microsoft knowing the contents of your CD collection. Even more worrying - do you want them (or anyone else for that matter) knowing just how many of your CDs are copied, or that you've got 2Gb worth of pirate MP3s?
Thought not.
Enter WinAMP.
Ridiculously easy to download, without loads of different forms to fill in. Completely free. One-click installing. No bloatware. You can have your MP3s up and playing within 5 minutes of clicking the WinAMP...
