...Walking around Toys R Us a few months back now with the usual "want daddy I want it daddy" ringing in my ears my little 2 year old Rhegan went very quiet so thinking he had wandered off I turned around sharply with a slight amount of panic rushing through my head and noticed him rocking happily backwards and forwards behind a display of boxes. When I walked around I saw that he had mounted a rocking horse and was having the time of his life. "Look Daddy Gee Gee" he kept telling me so of course seeing something he loved so much out came my wallet and we bought him one for the princely sum of £19.99. I collected the box from the customer service desk and placed it in the car "Daddy Gee Gee Please" still ringing in my ears. When we got home he demanded that I open it straight away and set it up for him to have a go on so I unpacked it...

Rock baby rock

Advantages: Good, simple fun. Durable colourful cheap toy

...We bought this toy for our daughter when she was 18 months, after she nagged us half to death in the supermarket. Don't you just hate the way supermarkets put great looking toys (and sweets) right next to the checkouts. I suppose we can forgive them, because selling is their game, but it creates major hassle for us mums. Anyway, on this occasion, we gave in because friends of ours had similar toys and Holly always enjoyed playing with it when we visited. We named the horse Hooves (although he has none!) for want of a better name and he is certainly a favourite. We drove home from the supermarket with a little voice in the back saying "go on there" over and over again. I have never seen such excitement when she was able to ride it. Only fools and horses

Advantages: great fun and lots of laughter

...Dark Horse is the 2008 album release from Canadian rock band Nickelback. It is their 6th album, the other 5 being: Curb (1996) The State (1998) Silver Side Up (2001) The Long Road (2003) All the Right Reasons (2005) Now, Nickelback tends to be one of those groups people know they've heard of, but can't think of many, if any of their songs. Nickelback's best know tracks, at least in England are How you Remind Me (released in 2001 from their Silver Side Up album), Photograph and Rock Star (released 2005 and 2006 respectively, both from their All the Right Reasons album). A brilliant present idea!

To give it the full title it is a Pintoy Baby Rocking Horse and it is made from strong, durable Rubber wood and from what I have seen would make a lovely traditional addition to any nursery. Horsing Around!

I remember as a child myself being completely captivated by these creatures (probably because, despite the fact we lived on a farm, my Dad constantly told us that we categorically could NOT have a horse - something to do with them wrecking fences and not earning their keep!!) and our girls seem to have inherited this fascination. At not quite three, they are still a bit young for horse riding, but they were delighted to receive this Lego Duplo box of equine delights as a gift. This is a relatively new product - it was only launched in 2007. ...Only Fools and Horses could be one of the funniest programmes anyone, anywhere could watch. The Trotter family consists of two brothers Derek and Rodney(played by David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst) who live in their Nelson Mandela Flat are traders in peckham, struggling to make ends meet, but they always end up with dodgy deals, which makes this programme pure gold to watch. You will wet your pants if you were to watch Only Fools and Horses, because of the wacky adventures and dodgy deals the two brothers end up with. Derek is the more assertive, extrovert brother of the two brothers. He manages to always get him and his brother into trouble by buying 'Knocked Off' products such as inflatable dolls which are explosive! Rodeny is the more intelligent brother, he thinks things through, unlike his brother. I would recommend this...

Disadvantages: None, apart from food sometimes comes in smaller portions than usual.

...Me and my family (me, my mum, and two brothers) are regulars at our local Hungry Horse. We find it an enjoyable day out, and the boys can go play in the play area. The food does not let us down either, and each time we are thoroughly pleased with our meals. I try to vary what I have but I usually opt for the same things- a starter of onion rings or garlic breaded mushrooms, a main course of the cheeseburger with chips and beans, and a dessert of either Sticky Toffee Pudding or if i'm still mega-hungry the "Ultimate Candy Mania".
