...I was first introduced to Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel when I had a lovely Elemis facial in a spa. I purchased the cleanser and toner used in the facial but did not purchase the peel at the same time as it was quite expensive. Well the other day I felt like treating myself, so I brought it.

What the product does
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The smooth cream peel contains an exotic cocktail of natural fruit enzymes from African Papaya and Far Eastern Pineapple that helps to gently exfoliate, purify and regenerate tired or sensitive skin. Extracts of Bladderwrack and Sunflower remineralise and condition, whilst Porphyridium and Vitamin E provide anti-oxidant and free-radical protection.
Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel is a non-granular exfoliation cream that is used as a face mask. It contains seven active ingredients that...
...Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel
The Product
Papaya Enzyme Peel is a non mechanical exfoliator, used in a mask format as opposed to the usual grainy exfoliators I was used to. Since my skin is combination oily, but also sensitive, I was advised to give this product a try, on the idea that it was optimum exfoliation with minimum irritation.
When I purchased the peel, it was a 15ml size inside an Elemis Limited Edition Anti-Ageing gift pack, alongside a Exotic Cream Moisture Mask, Cellular Recovery Detox capsules, Pro Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream, and the famous Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, all for £45. However, you can buy a 50ml sized tube of Papaya Enzyme Peel on its own, for £26.
The product comes in a silver tube, with black writing on the front and a basic explanation of ingredients and usage on the back. There is also...
Advantages: Lovely smell, nice texture, does what it claims to do! Disadvantages: VERY expensive!
...I was lucky enough to get picked for a panel of mums to try out some tummy toning products for one of the famous Parenting magazines earlier this year. The options were a diet, exercise or this cream, and luckily for me, I got to use the cream! I didn't actually know what cream it was, so I went into with an open mind...until my curiosity got the better of me! I found the cream was made by Rodial and that it was rather expensive....£100 a bottle! So I began to use it and carried on doing so for 4 weeks. So here goes my review.
Rodial is a company which uses the best of nature's ingredients in order to make wonder creams and treatments which claim to make drastic changes to your body when you use them regularly. Apparently Rodial uses Pomegranate Ellagic Tannin in all of their products, as this is an anti-ageing firming product...
Review of Rodial Tummy Tuck
Advantages: It Works!,smells nice,easy to apply,celebrity's use it Disadvantages: Verrrrrrrrrry pricey,slightly greasy
...I've read about Rodial a lot in many magazines and they claim it is a brand many celebrity's love,so being the beauty junkie that I am I decided to give it a go.And at £98 it wasn't cheap(but I've never been one to skimp on skin care).I thought it seemed a very versatile product as it says it is a: Daily moisturizer with SPF 18 sun protection
Instant wrinkle filler
Muscle freezer and
Eye cream
so I thought that that more or less justified the price(if you are used to buying supermarket shelf beauty products you will probably think that the price is still insane but for people who buy more high end brands you will think it's normal).
It contains micro-injected hyaluronic acid,marine collagen and daily hydration with wrinkle plumping agents.
When it arrived(I ordered it from the Internet) I was incredibly excited about trying it...
Advantages: No preparation needed just peel and serve Disadvantages: Difficult to obtain
...As someone who loves trying out new products I was intrigued when I saw a pack of the new Olli Peel, Feed and Dispose cat food on the shelves in Pets at Home.
The idea behind this product is that it is a wholesome cat food supplied in a small plastic dish enabling you to merely peel back the foil topping and service it straight to your cat. (You do the peeling and feeding, the cat disposes of the contents and then you dispose of the container). No preparation, no washing up which would make this food ideal if you were travelling with your cat or taking him to visit friends - ideal also if you are leaving food for your cat sitter to serve.
The proud boast of Olli is that is not only "easy for you, but naturally good for your cat too". One single dish serving is a single serve portion for one cat and the food contains no cereal...
Advantages: I do bellieve it may work Disadvantages: Tad pricey
...was true, then I was getting a real bargain.
I bought mine from Boots but it is sold in most leading chemists and supermarkets and there are some very good offers for Roc products online- I typed in a general Roc search.
The Packaging?
The In-Home Micro peeling Mask comes in a very decadent gold 40ml tube with a blue screw off top. No precious stones inside but I did have a good look.
What does it look like?...
Open it up and the product itself is a smooth creamy but not thick cream. It's easy to get out of the tube with one small squeeze, but not so much like a liquid that the squeeze means that the whole product shoots out!
The smell is more clinical than perfumed but not really especially noticeable, and there is certainly not one scent which jumps out, and allow me to say that it smells of something specific.
So...
Review of ROC Micro Peel Mask
Advantages: Doesn't make skin horribly tight, smoothens, affordable Disadvantages: Was hard for me to track down
...After my disastrous first foray into face mask in a tube from Simple (see review!), I decided to try once more rather than stick to messy single-use sachets. After a little research, the Fab Pore mask kept cropping up again and again and I decided it would be a good product to first try the Soap and Glory range.
The range can be found in Boots or Harvey Nichols, and features kitsch packaging, punny names and from what I've heard the products are pretty damn good too.
The Fab Pore is left on the skin for 15 minutes for a "facial peel" with "exclusive "PORESHRINK-R COMPLEX". I know, ooh ahh. I will mention that the instructions are printed on a box, with the mask in a plastic screw-top tub inside, so if like me you immediately throw away the box, you're on your own. Still, it's not rocket science - dampen skin, smooth on mask, wait...
Advantages: Lovely fragrance, nice gentle exfoliation Disadvantages: A little drying if you have sensitive or dry skin
...My Lush Christmas box is slowly becoming depleted. Yesterday I decided that I would give my Sexy Peel soap a try as I had run out of shower gel in the ensuite shower room and I would have had to go downstair to the other bathroom to get some more. Me...lazy? Well yes I am and it was too cold to go downstairs.
So the first thing I noticed about this little piece of soap was that there was citrus peel on the outside - there was lemon and orange peel so it looked quite pretty. This also proved to be quite a gentle exfoliator. Now what I wasn't sure about was did this peel go all the way through the bar or was it just on the top. Please bear in mind that this was a round gift pack soap that I had and not a bar. The bars appear to have one side "peeled" and the other side as more of a traditional soap. This makes sense as you can exfoliate...
Advantages: Smells great, cleans well, not tested on animals, vegetarian. Disadvantages: A little messy, I wish it lasted longer.
...<<<<<Background>>>>>
A while ago I sent my other half off with a list of Lush products to buy and the money to get them. He came home rather pleased with himself having got what I wanted with an added extra, there was an offer on that Lush do every so often, a free 100 gram block of soap of your choice.
He was unsure which to get as the free bar so one of the assistants suggested her favourite Sexy Peel. After a quick sniff my other half liked it and knew that I would too.
<<<<<The product>>>>>
Had this been bought it would have cost £2.25 per 100 grams. As Lush makes their soaps in big moulds and cut off slices/chunks to the size you want they are never exactly 100g so can be a little more than £2.25.
Lush wrap their soap in paper for you to take home, with a sticker telling you the date, price and name of the soap...
Review of Lush Sexy Peel Soap
Advantages: it's the Delgados Disadvantages: May not be easy to find. its the Delgados so will never be a million seller
...The late great John Peel (RIP) certainly had a really good taste in music. As well as nominating Teenage Kicks by the Undertones as his favourtie song ever (it's high up in my top ten) he championed one of my favorurite bands the Delgados (also RIP since they split up in 2005). During a ten year period they recorded no less than seven sessions comprising of twenty nine tracks in total for John Peel's late night show on Radio 1. These sessions have been compiled into a comprehensive double CD. I doubt the Delgados will ever have a best of (and certainly not a greatest hits as this criminally underacted, wonderful band never dented the top 40. Thus in an absence of a best of this is the nearest thing to a comprehensive retrospective of their career.
For those that don't know the Delgados were a Scottish quartet who were instrumental in...
