Roger Federer

Advantages: Great Forehand, Simple Game and Consistent
Disadvantages: None

...Well. Where do you start? Roger Federer has the potential to be the Pele of tennis. He may become the greatest ever player to hold a tennis racket. He already has three Grand Slam titles to his name and in the future he should add many more. Roger Federer is a rather unique tennis player. In many ways, his game and style of play is so simple, which makes mistakes minimal and makes succes at the highest level much easier. However, his forehand is probably the best in the world of mens tennis and possibly the most unique. He has incredible supination around his wrist joint which allows him to generate incredible pace and power, as well unreal angles and accuracy. With this power and accuracy, Federer does have a huge amount of consistency. He doesn't give away many points to his opponents, making beating him that bit more difficult...

Roger Dodger, What A Guy

Advantages: Great script, good acting, interesting direction, nothing like American Pie
Disadvantages: The title lets it down, do men like this exist?

...When I read the TV-guide synopsis for Roger Dodger, I thought it would be along the lines of a fluffy, teenage sex comedy a la 'American Pie' and I could hardly be forgiven for that assumption - 'When 16-year old Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) visits his uncle Roger (Campbell Scott) in the big city determined to lose his virginity, he is given lessons in life and love.' What the TV-guide didn't mention was, kindly old Uncle Roger turns out to be a smarmy, slimy ad-executive whose views on women are so psychotically cynical, a fluffy weekend in the city turns out to be a damning indictment on the singles scene for the modern man or woman. This is not so much 'American Pie', as 'American Pie-sotically Cynical' (see what I did there?) Working in the advertising industry has embittered Roger's views and philosophy of the world. 'I make people...

FREE DVDs

Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review

...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them. ∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊ Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Get Rogered!

Advantages: Great music and lyrics!
Disadvantages: Silly beard!

...While most people think that Queen was just Freddie Mercury, dedicated fans know different. Queen had many number ones in the UK, but did you know that each of the 4 members managed to write a top 10 hit? Freddie Mercury wrote Bohemian Rhapsody, Brian May wrote We Will Rock You, John Deacon wrote Another One Bites the Dust and Roger Taylor came up with Radio Ga Ga, Heaven for Everyone and A Kind Of Magic to name but a few. Roger was by far the best looking of the group, but he was never the stereotypical Neanderthal drummer, having picked up a degree in dentistry while practising his drumming skills. Roger was also the most prolific band member outside of Queen, having penned 4 solo albums and 3 with his other group, The Cross, who he formed after Queen stopped touring in 1986. Electric Fire is the last (so far) of his solo...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Silent Fields by Roger Lovegrove

Advantages: Very detailed account of the subject matter
Disadvantages: None

...Silent Fields This book is a sickening book to read, but it is a book that I can thoroughly recommend, in any case. It is a long, comprehensive and detailed book by Roger Lovegrove detailing the long decline of the wildlife of Britain. I believed that the decline of wildlife in Britain was a result of the overuse of chemical fertilisers and chemical pesticides in Britain after the war. And whilst it is true that this has certainly exacerbated the situation, it was not the start of the decline, not by a long way. The book details the long and systematic destruction of the wildlife of Britain. Lovegrove has meticulously researched a diverse number of historical sources dating back to the Tudor times to the present day. The records show that the history of the persecution of some of what were supposedly the best...

The Roger Williams Hotel

Advantages: comfortable room, friendly staff, mezzanine
Disadvantages: none

...ROGER WILLIAMS HOTEL – 31st St. & Madison Ave. – NYC Imagine this --- Your car pulls up to an unpretentious building on a NYC street corner. You step out and experience a feeling akin to safety. (Yes, in NY). It is clean. It is busy, but it is quiet. You pull open a heavy glass door (feeling of security) and step inside. Immediately, your eyes widen to capture vastness, a grand piano and breathtaking pillars that seem to rise to the sky. Glistening sun and earth tones cause a feeling of warmth to seep to your very core. Instantly, a bellhop approaches and offers to take your bags. Your feet follow him, but your head keeps turning back to marvel. At the front desk, a very friendly clerk greets you in a very friendly manner. The check-in process is quick and handled with courtesy and respect --- no confusion, no...

ROGER Over and out

Advantages: Voice in Games and over the internet, added realism for games
Disadvantages: Need full duplex sound card. Direct x 8 tried to force this off the market

...Well this program was the fore-runner voice application for games last year but with the advent of Microsoft bringing out Direct X 8.0 which has the same fundimental functions as roger wilco built into it why download this ..? Well for a start this is a brilliant piece of software that can be used for every game thats multiplayer and this enhances games such as Unreal Tournament and Delta force with players shouting the immortal phrases such as "behind you" to each other and other less niceities :-) The software has the minimal of options which is a good thing and can be setup to use a key press to transmit the voice or even set it to auto detect the voice transmittion and send automatically. This program works by making all the other people connect to the "master" usually we have found which is also running the server...

The Anglers Rest, Derbyshire

Advantages: Good Sunday Lunch, Nice Pub And Lovely Setting
Disadvantages: Food Is Quite Expensive

...The Angler?s Rest is one of three Public Houses/Restaurants in the little picturesque Village of Bamford, in an area of Derbyshire?s Peak District National Park known as the High Peak. I visited the Angler?s Rest in Bamford recently for Sunday Lunch, although I must confess that this was not actually my first choice of venue. I had intended to visit a place called the Yorkshire Bridge, which is a popular place and has a good reputation for food. In fact, the Yorkshire Bridge was so popular that we could not find an empty table, hence we headed back up the road about a mile to the Angler?s Rest. I have eaten at the Angler?s Rest before but this was many years ago. Back then this place served excellent food but I had heard that its standards had fallen since that time. I had however heard that this place had recently changed owners...
