Experience with Roland EP-77
Advantages: modifiability, portable
Disadvantages: need of electricity
...I have been playing the piano for several years, each week going to a class, hard training all the time, concerts, and once, I got for Christmas this new invention.
--- Advantages ---
I didn't know at all what to expect. Before, I occasionally played for fun on keyboard. So I thought that it is comparable to such quality = not having a real size of a usual wooden piano. The other thing is that the number of keys, the low bass and high tones are usually missing on such a digital piano. But as I saw it then packed out, I starred on it with an open mouth because the keys had the usual size of a USUAL piano. What I really started to like on Roland EP-77 it was the fact that it is portable. - Several times it happened to me that I couldn't play the big piano at certain occasions because I cannot just put this instrument into my pocket...

Roland GR-20 Guitar Synthesizer
Advantages: Some very realistic synthetic sounds at an affordable price.
Disadvantages: Requires a lot of fine tuning.
...Background:
I bought this pedal in Japan for £290. The Roland GR-20 is renowned for it's value for money. For this price you get:
The GR-20 Synthesizer
GK-3 Dedicated Pickup + Cable (to connect the GK-3 to GR-20)
Power Supply Unit
Short Guitar Lead
Instruction Manuals
Warranty
Screws, tapes etc... to attach GK-3 to your guitar
The pedal is very versatile and also comes with an in-built tuner.
Installation:
The GK-3 needs to be installed on your guitar before you can use the pedal. Ideally the GK-3 should be around 1mm away from your strings and should not be installed further than 1cm away from the bridge.
The GK-3 has two main parts. The main body, which has the up/down buttons (to scroll through the patches) and a volume knob, and the pickup itself.
The pickup can either be installed using screws...

Roland XP10
Advantages: versatile keyboard useful for both studio and live work,
Disadvantages: User / Preset switching manual not auto
...I bought my XP10 about 5 years ago and it has been a great keyboard for both studio recording and live performance.
At the time I bought it the price was some £650 and it was great value for money, when compared to the O1/W at just over £1000.
It is a 5 octave keyboard with the keys being touch sensitive and functioning very well.
The unit has 127 User selected voices and a further 127 Preset voices, operational over 16 MIDI channels.
It also has pitch bend control.
When linked to a Sequencer program there is a useful switch on the keyboard that can control the stop / start of the computer.
The keyboard is not a workstation so does not have a built in sequencer. The window which shows the display is not backlit so that causes a problem when gigging - you have to be certain that all voices being used are set before...

Fantastic keyboard, so lovely to type on...
Advantages: Separated keys; very nice to type on, very nice to look at (doh!)
Disadvantages: None really
...I've just purchased the Apple Snow Leopard Mac Box Set from my local Apple authorised service provider, and decided to buy an Apple keyboard with it. The Apple keyboard is priced around £28.00 - and no matter what keyboard I try I can type the fastest with this keyboard due to the separated keys. Very quiet key stroke during operation and just very pleasant to use. The keyboard enclosure is made from aluminium and even without being too close to the keyboard you can smell the aluminium when you first open the product, but the smell soon wares off. Nothing bad or anything - just saying! I actually purchased the keyboard without the numeric keypad - but you can purchase one with or without the numeric keypad usually at the same price.
The keyboard's caps lock has an LED light on the top left corner to denote the obvious, and you have to...

ROLAND FR-3S PIANO ACCORDION
Advantages: TOO MANY TO LIST!!!
Disadvantages: BELLOWS CAN BE A BIT STIFF WHEN NEW.
...The Roland fr-3s is the little brother to the fr-7 V-accordion, yet it is no small fry having a full 120 bass section, with seven registers and keyboard of 37 treble keys with ten registers and a dazzling array of features and sounds, it is lightweight and fully portable due to the built-in speakers and battery option. (It takes ten AA size battery's if you would want to use this function, and lasts up to two and a half hours depending on the batteries used.) Although I do generally plug mine into the mains.
The electronic wizardry in this instrument means you can select from ten different accordion types, each with its own associated registers and to the ear is indistinguishable from its acoustic cousins, and as if that was not enough, it boasts several orchestral sounds including violin, steel guitar and choir. The fr-3s also has...

Keyboard
Advantages: Design
Disadvantages: Expensive
...This is a good quality keyboard that offers good value for money in the short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be anle to get a cheaper version next year. It incorporates most of the latest features and technology that is currently available on the market.
The consumer will have to spend a short period of self-training in order to become fully acquainted with using the product. This can be achieved fairly efficiently by making reference to the guide/instructions that comes in the box.
After using this product for a few months I have not so far come up against any reliability issues but only time will tell. I therefore have to recommend the product....

Roland EG-101
Advantages: Quality, sounds, grooveability
Disadvantages: Lacklustre preset patterns, clumsy OS
...I am into making dance music, and I previously had a Yamaha DJX. I would say the EG-101 is pretty similar in its features, but it isn't as immediately accessible, then again it is a much higher quality product.
This is a nice looking keyboard. It has a vintage look, analogue style knobs and some nice backlit buttons. There is only a tiny LED display, however - adequate, just.
The keyboard has 448 voices, some of which are just percussion sounds and not much use, but there are some seriously usable sounds here. The quality of sound production is truly excellent. The onboard speakers are also remarkably powerful.
Roland's way of selecting sounds, voices etc. isn't intuitive or obvious. You have to work at it! This isn't a toy by any means, but I know they could have made the thing easier to use.
There is an arpeggiator, which I...

Not just a gamers keyboard
Advantages: robust, feature packed, incredibly useful, stylish
Disadvantages: large, expensive, replaced by an inferior model
...What's the difference between a standard keyboard and a gaming keyboard? Well, in this case, a honking great big LCD, 18 programmable macro keys, two USB ports and a bright-LED backlight!
The Logitech G15 is marketed as a Gamers keyboard when in fact, I think it would be more accurately described as a multipurpose keyboard. I don't really call myself a huge gamer - probably only clocking about 5 hours a week - however I bought this keyboard anyway, with the impression that it would help improve my general computer experience. This keyboard has perhaps been my most useful purchase to date.
Style
Even by the small thumbnail picture, it's evident that this keyboard really is one of a kind. For starters, it appears to have twice as many buttons as a traditional keyboard, and it does! As well as the full range of characters...

Apple Keyboard
Advantages: Good Multimedia Keys, Flat Desgin, Very Easy to Type.
Disadvantages: Need's OS X Tiger with the latest update or higher, No good on Windows.
...This Apple Keyboard has to be one of the best Apple have ever made. First of with the design, Taking after the Mac Book Keyboard style, it feels like typing on Laptop Keyboard. Typing is very quick and easy. The Keyboard is VERY thin and so it's very easy to move around but will stay where it's put.
The Keyboard also has multimedia Keys. These Keys work on OS X good and will work on Windows with Boot Camp Drivers. The Keyboard it self works Plug and Play in Windows but only the standard stuff work.
The Keyboard has Brightness, Exposé, Dashboard, Track skip, Pause/Play, Mute, Volume Keys and a Eject Button.
The Keyboard being so small does suffer from a small "L Enter Key" however I haven't found this to be a problem.
The Keyboard also comes with 2 USB 2.0 Ports on the Left and Right hand side. In trying these they haven...

Roland Drums... my pride and joy!
Advantages: Great authentic sounds, feels like playing real drums
Disadvantages: knowing that if you had £5000 you could get a much better one
...I brought my Roland V Drums about a year and a half ago. I love them to bits.
At the time, i couldnt afford them at all. However I played on a kit in a music shop and fell in love with them. I immediately promised myself to get a job and save up to get one. So, eventually I did.
I still struggle now to understand the technology. You're hitting rubber and plastic pads, and real drum sounds come out... its increadible.
Although the TD8 is not the most advanced kit in the series, it still does SO much. It registers how hard you hit the drums, where you hit the drums and they are really responsive.
One of the major benefits of this piece of equipment is that you can play music into it to play along to. This can be very useful for practicing and picking up new things while listening to your favourite tunes!
Also, its a great...
