...I have always enjoyed watching stand up and happily spend many evenings with the other half, falling asleep giggling to something silly. My favourite comedians include, Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Jim Davidson, Lee Evans and Tim Minchin. While browsing through HMV a few weeks ago, making a few usual impulse buys in the hope of finding something good, I spotted Russell Howard's "Live" DVD. The name rang a bell and I briefly remembered seeing a 2 minute clip of Russell on youtube and finding it funny. So the DVD was brought for 9.99. If you have never seen Russell Howard before or seen any of his material, I can only describe him as being hysterically funny with a boyish charm. ...Perfect Harry Potter figure for collectors and for kids to play with! Ron Weasley is Harrys best friend and a must have figure for any fans. This figure looks just like Ron from the films but the figures are based on the 5th film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This figure comes with Rons wand and his patronus when bought as a single figure. If bought as part of a set he will only come with his wand as an accessory. The wand is obviously quite small and easy to lose unless you take extra special care or attach it to the figures hand with sellotape or blu tack!! This figure is approximately 3 and 3/4 inches tall in proportion with the rest of the Harry Potter figures. The figures I find are very durable and tough and should withstand play by children. They do have an age limit of 4+ as they come with the wand...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. How Ron Howard ruined The Grinch

...I would love to have seen what Tim Burton or someone similar might have done with this film, because Ron-bloody-Howard has made a pigs ear of it. Unable to deviate from his trademark sugar-coated, "gee, ain't this swell" mentality, what he's produced is, ultimately, a very tedious film. Jim Carrey deserves credit for his star turn as the eponymous green menace, as he truly seems to get under the skin of the character, making it easy to forget that it's actually him under there. I also thought the young actress who played Cindy-Lou Who was very good. Unfortunately, she gets lumbered with a couple of truly retch-inducing songs. The make-up is also very impressive, but that alone does not a good film make. The film is undone by its indecision over who its audience is. Mr.Nice by Howard Marks

Advantages: An Excellent, Intelligent, Thought-provoking, Honest read.
Disadvantages: Sags a bit in the middle but picks up again as soon as he is in prison!

...I found this book to be excellent! It was a really enjoyable read. Howard Marks puts across his entire life in a completely honest and genuine way. He is clearly a likable man and no matter what he has done you really can't help but be on his side! The fact that the basis of this book is his life involved with Cannabis did not really occur to be as a bad point within this book as it is told with such charm, wit, honesty and integrity that he could have been writing a book on anything and I'm sure I would still find him a brilliant writer and man. This is not an easy-to-read stoners book, it is a detailed journey of Mark's life and (as I quickly established) he is not a man with no brains who smokes weed, he is incredibly insightful, clever, funny and intellectual. Im Ron Burgundy......... Stay Safe DVD!

Advantages: Another great film from Will!

...Will Ferrel stars in yet another hilarious film. After Elf i didnt think it could get much better. Well it has! Will plays an Anchorman of a popular news station. Amongst his news team are 3 other guys, all weird in their own sense. Until the most awful thing in Anchorman history.... A WOMAN joins the news team. Ron immediatly falls in love with her and they start a relationship. But all that ends when the woman he loves becomes the first ever Anchorwoman. Eventually he gets sacked for saying offensive words from the cue screen. My favourite part is when one of the news team looks round the room expresing his love to a lamp and a carpet!
