Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Mister B. Gone - an unusual book for Clive Barker

...I have read most of Clive Barker's books which are often set in strange worlds (Weaveworld, Abarat) and have come to expect the unexpected from him. However, even bearing this in mind, this short book (only 248 pages in the paperback edition) still came as a bit of a surprise. It's unusual for Clive Barker to write such a short book, and to have so few major characters involved. It's also unusual for him to use one of the few major characters as a narrator. Jakabok Botch (the Mister B. of the title) speaks directly to the reader throughout, starting with explaining just how even for a demon he is hideously disfigured. After being tempted by a piece of steak and a can of beer on a line he is "fished" up through several "Circles" into our World circa the 14th/15th century. ...Like Jimmy White, Ronnie O'Sullivan's autobiography has a picture of him smoking on the cover. The similarities don't end there; both snooker players have a reputation on the baize for being great players, and off the baize for their wild and uncontrollable antics. However, unlike Jimmy White's 'Behind the White', Ronnie's autobiography is an excellent read and a brilliant book. Despite being the best snooker player around, Ronnie is well known for a destructive streak that has been known to get him in trouble - punching tables, biting off cue tips, and even grazing his own face on TV have seen him fined, criticised and ridiculed, but the fact remains that this guy is simply the best out there at snooker, so love him or hate him you can't ignore him!
