Boston Hilton

Advantages: Comfortable, clean, good location

We were looking for somewhere to stay on a trip to Boston and had decided that a guest house would be a happy medium. It is at 89 Broad Street. Despite it being in the Financial District we found it very easy to walk from the hotel to the main tourist sites of the city. Quincy Market and the Old State House were only 10 minutes walk away. PRICES: The price of this particular hotel seems to vary a lot depending on when you stay and who you book through. ...We booked the room online at www.Hilton.co.uk, Hilton guarantee that their best rates are available online. We booked a few months in advance and got a really good rate. Rates do change, at the moment double roms are £110 per night with guest room plus rooms £134. Because I boked well in advance i got a double plus room (gets a sea view, fluffy bath robes etc) for under £100. The Wbsite has info about the hotel including pictures of rooms etc The hotel is relatively modern with lots of car parking. When we checked in Reception was busy but was very efficient. All the public areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean On balance a hotel that I'm likely to stay at again. I stayed on a Sunday, arriving in time for Sunday lunch. The Restaurant, the Promenade, has a Carvery which was extremely good with starters of either soup or a help...

...Hilton Toronto Having recently returned from a great stay at the Hilton and Toronto thought that it was about time that I attempted to put pen to paper again on Ciao as been absent for quite a while! I opted for this hotel because I found a great deal of around £500 for 2 people for 7 nights at the beginning of September 2006. The room: The room was located on the 16th floor as was spacious with two comfortable double beds and nice, fresh linen. In addition there was a wardrobe that whilst note huge was provided adequate storage as well as the ever useful iron and ironing board. A large TV provided ample international TV and good 'pay per' movies; the usual Hollywood Blockbuster stuff. There was a well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices and a nice coffee machine with a good range of complimentary hot drinks...

...If you have read my Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur review you may question why I would even contemplate staying at a different property. The answer to this would be price. Hilton managed to entice me to stay at their flagship Asian property In February and March this year due to a 70% discount promotion. Given the nature of the recession I thought it was best to slim my expenditure down to size and took a Grand Executive Suite at £110 a night. The usual price for this would be in excess of £250 a night and when you see the room, you can clearly understand why. Hilton KL opened in 2004 and established itself as a major player in the KL hotel market and was soon crowned the accolade of Hilton?s flagship Asian property.   Comfortable & relaxing stay for 5 star Hilton!

Advantages: comfortable, beach location, better value than newer 5 star hotels, good customer service.
Disadvantages: overshadowed by construction of taller buildings behind the Hilton - pool area is partly shaded

...A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the Oasis Beach hotel was the last hotel on the beach strip apart from the Hilton Hotel; the surrounding land was just barren desert. However, after my present visit in 2006 I was surprised to see there were about 200 buildings being constructed behind the Hilton Hotel! If you've read this far and are thinking it's a big no, no you'll be surprised at how much the construction doesn't really bother you. The Hilton without a chihuauhua or a range of perfumes

Advantages: Good rail connections, good for the Excel or London City Airport, but not too remote for the city
Disadvantages: It's expensive but by London terms, you get a lot for your money.

...It's hard to go wrong with a Hilton. The chain seems to stand for a solid dependability that's very comforting and reassuring (except for Paris Hilton, she's a different matter entirely). But there's a different side to Hilton in the new Millenium; a funkier and more cutting edge design-led style that's quite unlike their 1980s and 1990s image. I've been staying in Hiltons for about 20 years and I rarely regret it but there's a clear difference between their 'revamped' older hotels and their made-to-measure newbies. When you find a Hilton where everything is as it was designed to be and not where they've modified something older and tried to 'funk it up' a bit you can really tell the difference.
