Dangerous to the clueless

.... The nightlife centres in areas such as Rosebank and Melville, and if you know where to go, this can be great. Jo'burg holds an annual cultural music festival, which is great to attend. If you are into Afro-jazz and Kwaito, this is this place to be. Jo'burg boasts huge shopping malls which is great to check out if you are into spending money, and with the exchange rate being what it is, you could score...

People, food, vibe

Not many

...Johannesburg (or Joburg) is truly African city and this is why I love it. Despite Joburgs crime (which in my opinion is highly over rated) and 3rd world elements multi-racial, multi cultural metropolis buzzes 24/7. Shopping is fantastic. From its flea-markets (Rosebank Rooftop is a must) to its upmarket shopping centers such as Sandton City and the Rosebank Mall, everything is cheap...

Local. Large old house but modern. Charismatic.

You are best having a car with you.

...to enjoy it fully. From the Moorings you can head 5mins down the M74, and when you turn off you find yourself at the most beautiful part of the area - the Clyde side. You drive up fairly windy roads and look down and across the valleys and farmland, with several garden centres and cafe's. [Rosebank & Sandyholm are fantastic.] All signs post to Lanark so just follow the signs and enjoy the view...
