Rosemary's Baby : Anyone for tannis?
Advantages: Knife-edge suspense, great acting, highly atmospheric
Disadvantages: Maybe a little dated, but I don't personally see that as a disadvantage
...root, chocolate "mouse", devil worshippers, pregnancy, paranoia, and experience what I personally feel are the greatest levels of spine-bending suspense any film has ever managed to invoke.
Rosemary Woodhouse and her struggling actor husband Guy, move into an apartment in New York?s Dakota Building. The previous tenant had been an elderly lady who died in a nursing home, after having become worried and confused to the point where she blocked off the access door to the adjoining apartment. Rosemary and Guy settle in and make friends with the elderly couple who live in the next door apartment; then the story gradually begins to unfold.
When Rosemary falls pregnant, various events make her begin to suspect that the elderly couple next door are devil-worshippers and that they want her baby for their sacrificial rites. Guy?s behaviour...

My friend Rosemary
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
...I love growing and using herbs and one of my favourites is Rosemary. Rosemary is easy to grow, looks and smells wonderful and can be used in many ways.
Growing Rosemary.
*****************
How to grow Rosemary is the obvious place to start this review. The first thing to say is that Rosemary is really easy to grow and in my experience quite forgiving too! Having said that Rosemary is not easy to grow from seed. I recommend you buy your plant from a nursery. They are really cheap, usually about £1 each. April is the ideal month for planting outside although it is not to late now in early may. Rosemary originates from the Mediterranean and so not surprisingly likes to grow in a sunny spot. It also likes sandy soil although my plants grow very happily in clay soil. Planting is really easy; simply dig a hole about 3 inches deep...

Rosemary for Remembrance
Advantages: A wonderfully versitile herb which has many uses.
Disadvantages: Can take a little while to get established, likes good drainage and a sunny position.
...Rosemary
When I first came to view this house, I remember getting that feeling, as soon as I stepped over the threshold, that this was to be my home. Standing in the back bedroom, looking out over the garden, I remember thinking it had everything I could ever want in a garden, and it was as much for this, as for the house itself, that I made my offer and bought my first home. The garden was full then of mature shrubs, an apple tree, a huge clematis and a bower of honeysuckle. The land was grassed over, though this was the first thing I changed when I moved in, lifting the turf and laying paths, flower beds, vegetable plots and areas for seating.
It was not, however, until after I moved in and had my first real explore of the garden I have come to love and cherish, that I found, nestling in a corner beside the house wall...

Rosemary And Me
Advantages: It does look quite pretty and you can eat it!
Disadvantages: Not totally hardy in cold areas and needs a bit of sand.
...Like many herbs, rosemary is a rather attractive plant. It has long, narrow, spine-like leaves of a silvery, grey-green colour. There is a single species ? r.officinalis ? but you can buy several varieties. Albus is the most popular and the one I prefer, for it has delicate, blue-mauve flowers and is perfect for culinary use. There is also a white-flowered variety, Miss Jessops, and you can buy a ground cover type, Prostratus, to use in rockeries and the like. It is a dense, pretty bush and, as an evergreen, makes a good [edible!] hedge. Grown to full height, it is between four and six feet tall. Mine is not much more than a year old and stands at a healthy two and a bit feet.
Hard to grow from seed, you will find small plants at any local garden centre. My local nursery is selling small herbs of all varieties for a paltry 99p...

Rosemary - More than just a plant.
Advantages: easy to grow, tough, tasty, nice smell
Disadvantages: none.
...Rosemary is one of those plants I'll always love. Not for its flavour, its looks, or its smell, although these are great, but for very personal reasons.
When I was very young, the person dearest to me in all the world was my grandmother on my father side, Janet. She was the kindest, warmest, most loving woman in the world, and (unlike my evil parents!) she let me eat the sugary cereals, and spend my pennies on chocolate. Sadly, when I was 9, she got cancer.
Actually, that's not strictly true. She got cancer before that, but being the kind woman she was, chose not to tell anyone other than her husband about it until the point when it became clear she wouldn't be shaking it off anytime soon. We had a year more of her, and then sadly she passed away.
Her middle name was Rosemary, and when we buried her ashes, a Rosemary plant was...

Rosemary with a hint of Salsa!
Advantages: Fun workout, good music tracks, Rosemary is encouraging
Disadvantages: Might take a while to get the steps
...I have been on a task to lose some weight after having Harry, as I never really shifted those baby pounds (naughty me). I've done well through healthy eating, losing just over a stone and I am now back to the weight I was just before I got pregnant. However, I like to do a bit of exercise every now and then just to keep fit, and I also want to tone up as well...this is the bit I am still trying to work on! I already own a few exercise DVD's but I fancied a change. When I saw this DVD in my local charity shop for just £1, I couldn't resist. I set about trying it that afternoon and realised how much more fun this DVD was than the other aerobic workout ones I had!
Rosemary Conley's Shape Up and Salsacise does pretty much what it says on the tin. The DVD contains different workouts centred around the dance of the Salsa, a Spanish dance...

Rosemary & Thyme mystery drama
Advantages: Great storylines, one part episodes, interesting.
Disadvantages: none
... TV Programme Only (I am not reviewing the DVD format)
Rosemary and Thyme is a mystery drama which shows on ITV 1, currently at 4pm on weekdays (mon-fri). It is on for an hour, and each episode ends in the one hour (there are no 2 part episodes), and the story starts anew each day, meaning you don't have to watch it every day to know what is happening in the show, just tune in when you want to watch an episode and forget about it until you come across it again.
The show is about two female gardeners, Rosemary and Laura, in each episode they are employed to do the garden of some stately home, park, school etc. But wherever they go, trouble seems to follow them and murder seems to follow in their path, everywhere they are working, there is a murder, and normally a serial murder, Rosemary and Laura get on the case trying to...

Sweet scented Rosemary
Advantages: See review
Disadvantages: None
...Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) is an attractive evergreen shrub with pine needle-like leaves. It's trusses of blue flowers last through spring and summer in a warm, humid environment. It will grow to a height of between 3 and 5 feet.
***Cultivation***
Propagate from cuttings of the twisted wood of non-flowering branches in early summer, or layer established branches. Rosemary can also be grown from seed. Choose a sheltered position and well-drained soil, and allow the plant lots of sun. The thick shrub tolerates clipping so that the size can be kept in check. In hot weather it will appreciate a good hosing down. In a warm climate it can remain in the same location for up to 30 years, but in climates where freezing temperatures are expected it is best grown in pots so that it can be brought indoors in winter.

In And Out Of The Garden With Rosemary.
Advantages: Very attractive. Very useful.
Disadvantages: Not happy in shade.
...Rosmarinus officinalis. That's the Latin name for Rosemary, one of my favourite herbs.
There are clues to its history in the name. Rosmarinus means "dew of the sea". It's a really pretty name for a very tough old Mediterranean, coastal plant. Officinalis tells us that this was an apothecary's herb and so will have had some medicinal uses.
It is usually described as a woody, perennial shrub, and if allowed to grow to its full height of over four feet tall, this is a good description. This doesn't give you any hint of the attractive soft greens and greys the plant takes on when it's kept well trimmed. The new growth that appears after pinching or pruning invites you to run your hands over it and this releases the wonderful, sharp, almost pine-scented aroma. The hotter the weather, the stronger the smell.
It's evergreen, so you can enjoy...

Rosemary stood by my front door .
Advantages: great versatile herb
Disadvantages: none
...My old friend Rosemary-Rosmarinus stands by the front door .She must be at very old. Rosemary stands about 4 foot tall and is beautifully shaped. She has a wonderful perfume I often crush her in my hands as I go past her in the morning on the way to work. She is a symbol of friendship, loyalty, and remembrance. She is traditionally carried at weddings and funerals. Rosemary is a hardy lady not liking it too cold or wet. Rosemary has a dress of green pointy needle like leaves scattered with blue, pink, or white flowers.
I have given friends little rosemary?s taken from cuttings from my plant. They are fairly easy to do. Take a cutting with secateur?s or a sharp Knife about 3 inches long remove the leaves from the bottom inch or so. Dab this in rooting hormone and pop them in a pot of well-drained compost keep the compost watered...
