Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine

...INTRO The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with a second hand Belkin, which worked fine but unfortunately, a power cut killed the wireless on it. Advantages: Fairly easy to set up, easy to use, reliable, looks good.
Disadvantages: Bandwidth Innacurate.

...The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available. Belkin Wireless Router gets top marks

The Belkin was by far the cheapest router at the time (I paid £50 in 2005) compared to most other models which were on average £20 more expensive for what I could see, was the same functionality. ...Very good router. I got this router with my sky broadband. It is re branded to say sky on the front where netgear would be. The excellent thing about this router, is it's ability to hold on to low noise margin connections. Where I live, we get a terrible noise margin on our lines. Usually this would lead to the cutting out of internet. But with this router, it managed to keep locked on without dropping until it got to about 5db noise margin. The web interface is easily accessible through a web browser, like all of the other netgear routers around, via 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. In my particular case, as this is a sky branded router, the login details were admin as the username and sky as the password.
