...This site is an excellent way of showing distances, time, and routes to and from all sorts of places all over the world. When you first enter the site your first impression is that it is only for the United States. But this is untrue. There are 2 areas to complete: 1) The "From" address. 2) The "To" address. These areas are nicely colour-coded for ease of use.To detail your route you follow easy steps as follows: 1) First use the drop-down arrow for the country of origin. Next is the optional street name. Then enter either the city, state/county, post-code or zip-code or go to the airport city code (United States only). 2) The "To" address procedure is entered as in the previous paragraph. Know your routes ...

Advantages: Good fares .. More room to stretch out ..
Disadvantages: Strange food or no alcohol ..!

...How many of us have thought of flying Air India to Toronto? Kuwait Airways or El Al to New York ..? Aeroflot to Australia ..? Its not just the "big boys" such as BA or Virgin that fly to these destinations and hundreds of other places. The advantage of flying less well known airlines to very well known destinations are price, more availability at peak times and not least, lots more space to stretch out (most of the time). Researching different airlines on popular routes is time consuming and a lot of hassle so my advice is to find yourself a good old fashioned travel agent, you know the sort, cup of coffee on the desk and a battered old airline route guide to hand. Access to computerised airline reservation systems is an added bonus and will save them phone calls to the individual airlines concerned to check availability. These...

Scottish citylink travelling, various routes

Advantages: Cheap, mostly reliable transport, on time.
Disadvantages: Variable rates, passenger comfort

..., for example, glasgow to edinburgh is around £5.50 for a ticket, where as booking ahead gives you the same ticket for £1!! And it's the same for all the routes...one of the best deals i have seen is the inverness to edinburgh route....again, for £1!! Never, ever, book using the return fair option, simply because it doesn't throw up the super-saver option. This of course means that you have to punch in your credit card details twice, but for the money you are saving, and the small amount of time it takes to book, it's very much worth it in the long run! I hope this review helps someone in the near future who is travelling, or backpacking through scotland on a budget, thanks for your time reading it!...

The repetition and lack of imagination of London Bus routes is unlikely to occur to the casual visitor, but to anyone living in London it is very frustrating. About ten routes go along Oxford Street westwards to the major junction at Oxford Circus, but not one turns left or right ? all go straight across. However, jump off and walk round the corner so that you face down Regent Street, and you have a choice of a totally different set of around ten routes down that street. And what choice do these ten or so routes give you? Every single one of them goes to the end of Regent Street, down the Haymarket, turns left at the end, and goes to Charing Cross. This endless repetition means that, for example, that you cannot travel down Park Lane and turn left into Piccadilly, because none of the many buses...

Disadvantages: Slow to start, load routes and enitially gain a satalite signal

...Bought one of these when tomtom was lent to my parents, is not as good as i'd expected, slow to load routes, start and get satalite fix. Also the menu is very complicated and doesn't appear to charge very well. Has sent us some weird routes to get to our destination but i think thats a general satalite navigation thing with all brands as most of them use the same mapping systems. On he good side it does have a good holder for sticking it to the windscreen although it is rather large. The best bit has to be the speed camera detector has never failed yet allows plenty of time for breaking sometimes before we have even seen the camera. Has a effective sound to warn you of cameras and tells you what speed limit applies for the area which the speed camera is in. Also has a usefull anti glare night mode. I wouldn't recommend...

...I purchase one a few weeks ago, there are a number of practical problems in using a Tom Tom, one you can not plan the journey on the PC, you have to program the route into the Tom Tom, this is a problem. Tom Tom wants to take me down routes I don't want to take, such a Toll Roads, longer routes, heavily congested routes where road works exist. It doesn't pick up a GPS reception indoors and the battery runs low fast, meaning that unless you are sitting in the car, with the engine on and the tom tom chargings, planning the route is impossible! Try messing with the map in the car when you don't know the longitute and latitute of a car park for a country park or something similar then you're in trouble. It is actually far easier to go to google maps, take a note of the route and print off anything necessary, than have this doub...
