I (Roxy) Love it!
Advantages: Smells great (to me), can be found cheaply
Disadvantages: Doesn't last too long on skin
...It's been a while since I have worn perfume on a regular basis, I've had a few mishaps with bottles of my old favourite (Hugo Woman) and decided that it was too much hassle and money to replace them after they leaked/broke the sprayer, etc. But when I was in TK Maxx buying a last-minute present on Christmas Eve, I spotted a bottle of this and thought I'd give it a try. It as only £6.99 and as I have a lot of Roxy clothes and like their outdoorsy, free spirited image, thought maybe it would be a scent that I would appreciate too.
The purfume comes in a frosted glass bottle, which appears very pale blue but that is in fact the colour of the perfume, with a shiny silver lid. Fairly plain compared with some of the beautiful bottles out there, but it definitely wont look ugly on your dressing table. I have the 30ml size, there is also...

The Definitive Best Of Roxy
Advantages: Of many greatest hits of albums for Roxy this is the best
Disadvantages: None
...This was the first of the Greatest Hits compilations which Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music produced. When originally released it contained 20 tracks as a double album but although each side of the LP had 5 tracks the running time was as little as 16-17 minutes for a couple of sides. The later version of their greatest hits (the CD ‘More Than This’ released in 1995) had a longer total running time on a single CD. Plus ca change.
For me this album better defines the essence of good Roxy Music and, ergo, good Bryan Ferry. Don’t get me wrong I like Bryan Ferry as a solo artist but for innovation and inventiveness he was at his best when with the musical influences of Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay. The Roxy
Advantages: Value
Disadvantages: Queues
...For some reason there seems to be two menus for the same cinema anyway Hollinwood Roxy is the same as The Oldham Roxy.
The roxy isn't in the middle of nowhere infact it's on a very main road, near the motorway aswell, but its in the small town of Oldham, and is pretty much a local sort of cinema.
Prices vary, it will go from about £3 in the morning to £4 at night.
Inside food is reasonable, i buy a small popcorn, small slushy and that about £4.50.
I would be lying if i didn't say i'd tried to get into a 15 when i was below the age, but i didn't get in they unlike some cinemas are very strict about it so theres no point trying!
Queues can sometimes be quite long but the staff deal with people quickly so you aren't waiting long.
There is 2 main huge screens which are used for the latest box office hits and smaller ones...

Live 2001 - Roxy Music
Advantages: all the best Roxy tracks in concert
Disadvantages: none
...Roxy Music reformed in 2001 after 18 years apart.
No new material but the tour was a triumphal success, proving that Roxy could still cut it in the 21st century.
This double live album collates tracks from all across the tour, seemlessly edited together to create the ultimate Roxy concert.
From the opening thrill of "Re-Make /Re-Model" to the closing sigh of "For Your Pleasure" this is simply one amazing track after another.
Not only are the original songs effortlessly recreated on stage but there are numerous little embellishments that actually improve upon the originals. For example - Colin Good's beautiful piano into to "A Song For Europe", Chris Spedding's slide guitar in "Both Ends Burning", Lucy Wilkins' gorgeous voilin embellishments in "Tara" and many more.

Good Ol' Roxy
Advantages: Local to me, warm and friendly.
Disadvantages: Can be untidy.

...Would you also have clicked on this review if I had used the title *Sensible Shoes*? :-) Well, a footwear fetishist I am not, I am not Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines, who when she had to flee, left 3000 pairs of shoes in the palace. Foxy Roxie!
Advantages: Playful, loving and affectionate. Very pretty too!
Disadvantages: Very energetic, susceptible to ear problems, like a lot of company
...The title's not as weird as it seems: my dog's name is Roxie (after the murderess in Chicago) and my mum nicknamed her Foxy, so when it came to registering her in the Kennel Club Princess Roxie The Foxy seemed like a great option!
People always look at Roxie and say 'how sweet' and they tend to think that because she's small (she's on the small side for a Springer and stocky), she's easy to cope with. Not so. Don't get me wrong - she's worth every penny and every second spent on her, but she is very energetic, needs a lot of walking/running, loves playing and pulls on her lead just as much as my dad's German Shepherd.
I wouldn't recommend Springer Spaniels to some one who is older or someone who is unfit, because they take a lot of chasing after. They do tend to get on well with other dogs, which is just as well, because I don...

Advantages: Two individual musicians working together to make a great album

...of the other band members who provided an incredibly solid platform from which to work and added a diverse input into what was already a pretty weird outfit. Rock on Tommy!

Mother of Pearl - A True Gem
Advantages: "Mother of Pearl", Roxy's finest Album
Disadvantages: Nothing
...This was Roxy Music's third outing and their finest ever album. This was unusual because they had lost the creative talent of Brian Eno (due to a power struggle / personality clash with Brian Ferry as detailed in Eno's song "Blank Frank" from his "Here Come The Warm Jets" album) and replaced him with 18 year olf Eddie Jobson (from Curved Air, thus adding electric violin to their line up, demonstrated on "Street Life"). The cover maintained the Roxy Music predilection for scantily clad models , in this case draped over the whole original gatefold sleeve, in a torn red dress amonth the jungle vegetation look very hot (ie sweating) but with perfect make-up.
This was the first Roxy Music album to contain a single, the opening track "Street Life". It's a fast slice of pop rock, which then flows into the gentle ballad "Just Like You". This...
