I (Roxy) Love it!

Advantages: Smells great (to me), can be found cheaply

...It's been a while since I have worn perfume on a regular basis, I've had a few mishaps with bottles of my old favourite (Hugo Woman) and decided that it was too much hassle and money to replace them after they leaked/broke the sprayer, etc. But when I was in TK Maxx buying a last-minute present on Christmas Eve, I spotted a bottle of this and thought I'd give it a try. It as only £6.99 and as I have a lot of Roxy clothes and like their outdoorsy, free spirited image, thought maybe it would be a scent that I would appreciate too. The purfume comes in a frosted glass bottle, which appears very pale blue but that is in fact the colour of the perfume, with a shiny silver lid. Fairly plain compared with some of the beautiful bottles out there, but it definitely wont look ugly on your dressing table. I have the 30ml size, there is also...

The Definitive Best Of Roxy

Advantages: Of many greatest hits of albums for Roxy this is the best
Disadvantages: None

...This was the first of the Greatest Hits compilations which Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music produced. When originally released it contained 20 tracks as a double album but although each side of the LP had 5 tracks the running time was as little as 16-17 minutes for a couple of sides. The later version of their greatest hits (the CD ‘More Than This’ released in 1995) had a longer total running time on a single CD. Plus ca change. For me this album better defines the essence of good Roxy Music and, ergo, good Bryan Ferry. Don’t get me wrong I like Bryan Ferry as a solo artist but for innovation and inventiveness he was at his best when with the musical influences of Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay. ...For some reason there seems to be two menus for the same cinema anyway Hollinwood Roxy is the same as The Oldham Roxy. The roxy isn't in the middle of nowhere infact it's on a very main road, near the motorway aswell, but its in the small town of Oldham, and is pretty much a local sort of cinema. Prices vary, it will go from about £3 in the morning to £4 at night. Inside food is reasonable, i buy a small popcorn, small slushy and that about £4.50. I would be lying if i didn't say i'd tried to get into a 15 when i was below the age, but i didn't get in they unlike some cinemas are very strict about it so theres no point trying! Queues can sometimes be quite long but the staff deal with people quickly so you aren't waiting long. There is 2 main huge screens which are used for the latest box office hits and smaller ones...

...I once took my battery operated watch to a well known high street jeweller to have the battery replaced, I was told it would only take 5 minutes & cost £4.99, it actually took 30 minutes & cost me £9.99 as they had problems with the battery. When I took it home the small stop watch function wouldn't work & the built in alarm didn't work either. I took it back & explained it was OK before they touched it, but they refused to accept liability so I was left with a watch that never worked properly again. On another occasion another jeweller presented with a different watch stated that the movement was faulty & would cost approx £75.00 to replace, I left the shop & purchased a battery for 99p from Maplin, fitted it myself (this one had a small slot on the back to access the battery) & has worked perfectly since. ...My last watch has been with me for more than 10 years. It has been reliable until the past couple of years. It started mis-behaving, require constant battery changes, (a sure sign that the watch is dying), and frequently stopping whenever I fly. So last Christmas, I decided to buy myself an eco-driven citizen watch. An eco-drive watch uses light energy to run itself. The light source can be sun (solar) or an incandescent lamp (such as in an office environment). The watch uses a solar panel, in this case, its the face dial, to convert light into electrical energy which is stored in a special energy cell. This allows the watch to last a long time without seeing any light, suitable for those of us who hibernate (Ha!); for those of us with very long winters and constantly wearing long sleeve clothes or just forgetting to charge it up...

Charming little watch

...My 'friend' decided i needed a special present this year for christmas and bought me the Citizen Ecodrive Charm bracelet watch. It's one which has been advertised quite alot in womens magazines, and it is very pretty and a bit different. The bracelet is a basic silver coloured bracelet, attatched are five small handbag charms, one is plain silver colour, the other four have stones in different design 'handbags', the colours are pink, blue, yellow and clear. The watch itself is a slightly larger handbag shapewith clear 'diamonds' around the face and a blue pearly looking face. Its pretty and sparkles nicely which keeps him as amused as it does me, but then again hes amused by some very simple things - british money for one. The second of these watches that I own is also the silver coloured version but this time has shell shaped charms...

Delighted With The Citizen Eco-Drive Calibre Watch
