...I thought I had better share my brief affair of 6 months with a 1995 Aprilia RS250. I am not going to bother going through the specs - you can get that info from numerous websites. When reading reviews it is important to understand what the product is like to live with on a dialy basis and find out what it does well and what it doesn't do so well. so....................... I bought one just for a bit of fun over the summer months - and what a big mistake it was. Riding the RS gives you horns, the handling is phenomenol. It is just so light and flickable that twisty roads are a pleasure. The tyre stick like the provrbial to the shovel and the engine just wants to be revved. Aprilia RS125 .

Advantages: Probably the fastest standard 125 available.
Disadvantages: Cost of the bikes.

...Well where do i start with this fantastic peace of Italian engineering. When i was 16 i used to own a scooter (50cc) which was pants by the way! so when i turned 17 i decided i wanted a 125 until i passed my driving test to drive a car. So i had a look about at a few bikes on the net and i was either going to buy a one of these chinese imports, brand new for around £1000 or buy a second hand well known make bike for about the same price. Then i seen these aprilia rs125 bikes and had herd by a lot of people that they were the fastest 125's you can get so i looked into it a bit more then decided i wanted one, not long after searching for one in my price range i found one on EBay for 2000 model for £450 i think it was but it had a few days left but i wanted to go and view the bike so my dad took me to view it with the cash just in case...

So I took the car out to town via the causeway which is like a dual carriageway, then I went to town. ...I bought the bike as my second after learning on a Derbi Gpr50, a great bike in it's own right. The Rs125 is a great bike in many ways i love it because it handles so well and is very light and user friendly (once used to 2 stroke clutch slipping starts). The bike begs to be screamed every where you go and is only really happy once above 7.5k revs where it will sit all day as long as the maintenance schedule is followed religiously and Fully synthetic oil is used. (I recommend Motul 710 Fully Synthetic).IRO £13 a litre The only slight downside to the bike are the high maintenance in order to keep them reliable. Some younger more immature riders who don't take care will report back the Rs being unreliable but this is mainlyl to due to negligance. As I`ve stated before, I`ve had this car for 9 years and the respectful looks you get from both old and young people are unmatched in anything else. This is an enthusiast`s car for serious drivers. Treat them with respect and use decent oil and regular services and if you can ever bring yourself to sell it (I know mine`s not getting sold anytime soon!) it will at least give you what you paid for it, or more than likely more than what you paid.
