...We recently replaced our Russell Hobbs filter coffee maker as the valve that stopped the liquid coming through when the jug was removed had fallen off. We replaced it with a Morphy Richards Rapide. It certainly lives up to the rapide part of its name filtering coffee far quicker than its predecessor.It is a fast and efficient machine,easy to use and keep clean and has a permanent filter.My only gripe is that when the jug is removed there are always a couple of drips of coffee that fall onto the hot plate.It is also a little awkward to fill the resevoir with water as the opening is a little on the small side so care is needed to avoid spilling water. There is a coffee strength dial on the lid which seems to make no appreciable difference to the taste of the coffee to me.... Read review

Advantages: lovely fresh coffee
Disadvantages: might take a while to get the hang of frothing milk

...I have always loved a nice strong cup of coffee, but more than that I loved a cappuccino so when I got this model it was the best feeling ever. It is simple to use and makes 2-4 cups. You don't have to worry about replacing the filter because it is stainless steel and it is so easy to wash also. The machine is easy to clean and its drip tray is removable so you can simply wipe it down after use. The nozzle uses the steam to froth your milk whilst the coffee is being made, and although it takes a little practise to get the froth like the coffee shops and restaurants it really can be done! The coffee aroma that fills the house is so wonderful, and all for a very reasonable price of £30.... Read review

Advantages: great for in the morning
Disadvantages: no use without the provided cups

...I was very impressed to receive this coffee maker as a present from my girlfiren when i started a new job. I was going to comute on the train and she thought it would be perfect so i could take a coffee with me each morning save me having to pay GBP2 for a dodgy cup of station slop. The set up is pretty simple; it works exactly like a standard filter machine with one reusable filter (excellent by the way and very hard wearing), and slight adjustments so you only fill both cups and don't have a lot of spillage. If you've got your filter machine technique worked out then you can get a good cup of coffee out of it I found two problems with the machine however. You can realistically only use the carry out cups to make the coffee as trying to the distance between the drip tap and a noraml mug is to much and the coffee jsut splash all over... Read review

...This is a nice little coffee machine, it is easy to use and quick to brew. It is easy to clean and look after and the cup you get with it keeps your coffee nice and warm. The space that the cup goes in is a bit small for any ordinary sized cups. The only problem with is it, is that the filter is very small and you can't fit much coffee in it - so the coffee isn't very strong, but as the cup that comes with it isn't very big it's not too weak either. Also if you do put too much coffee in it, it tends to spill out and you get bits in your coffee. The only way you can tell if it's fininshed is when it goes quiet, if you open the lid before ot has finished you can burn yourself on the steam, but the manual does pre-warn you about this But as long as you don't put too much coffee in it, it is pretty good.... ...Oooh fantastic!! A caffeine junkie's dream come true! I don't own this particular model but an older, very similar model. Personally I love a nice frothy capuccino but with one of these you can make expresso too. It's easy to use but can get very messy and admittedly it's not a quick way to prepare your caffeine fix. There is a steam nozzle for frothing milk to make capuccino and this can get in quite a state with regular use! However the machine makes wonderful coffee and is worth the money compared to what you pay for a capuccino or expresso in a bar or restaurant. Mine can only make one large mugful of capuccino at a time or about 3 or 4 of the smaller expresso cups. Your pour water into the main chamber, fill a little funnel with freshly ground coffee to your taste and wait about 5 minutes for it to produce it's magical aroma... Read review

...I was given a Russell Hobbs 11299 Uno Uno coffee-maker for Christmas. It was a completely unexpected gift. What was even more unexpected was just how good the coffee made by this machine is! The coffee-maker is sleek and attractively designed. It has a very small footprint and therefore takes up little workspace in the kitchen (or better still in my study!). It really looks the part. To set up is simplicity itself. You fill the easily removable water container on the back to the "maximum" line, refit the container and then switch on the machine with the button at the front. This pre-heats the water. You then select your uno uno coffee pod - 5 of the "Love at First Sip" pods come with the machine - open the lid and place the pod in the round receptacle inside. Advantages: Large Cups Hold Two Cups of Coffee, Can make Tea aswell

...I love coffee and I love decent coffee the fresher the better, the stronger the better! When I'm at work I can spend up to £10 a day on coffee from local coffee shops. The machine works by you placing two teaspoons of filter coffee into the life long filter (saves the fiddling with the filter sheets early in the morning!) you then place the right amount of water into the water reserve at the back. There are easy to read marks in the filter reserve so it's not too difficult to get the right amount of water. You clip the lid down, press the button on the front and it boils like a kettle but filters the water through the coffee granules thus making that beautiful drink of coffee! ...Our last few kettles have all been Morphy Richards, basically for the simple reason that we have a green kitchen, and they were reasonably priced. After accidentally dropping our previous kettle onto the floor after tripping over the dog, I dashed out to Argos to get a new one. It was then that I spotted the Russell Hobbs Rialto on offer. It was reduced from £38.50 to the bargain price of £23, which has about the price that my last Morphy Richards cost me. Because I have a disability, I alway buy cordless kettles, because my co-ordination isn't exactly top whack.
