Another Beautifully Engineered Bike By Kawasaki
Review of Kawasaki GPZ305 by
crazymotorbiker
Advantages: Fuel Economy, Availability Of Spares, Cheap Insurance,
Disadvantages: Rattley Cam Chain, Rattley Transmission,
..., preferably Bridgestone Battlax BT45's . Excellent tyre for any condition.
Economy
For running around town this bike is ideal. She'll do any were from 60-85 to the gallon, obviously depends on how careful you ride.
Insurance
Insurance on this bike is dirt cheap. I'm 19 and i got the insurance for this bike for little over £110 tpft from Direct Choice. Best and cheapest Insurance company around.
Reliability
Since having this bike it has never broke down on me. Thats not to say things haven't broke though. The wiring is rather dodgey and Ive had to rewire many sections that have rotted, thankfully its only been sections of lighting, so far....
The other thing that went on my bike was the drive belt. When i got it the teeth were cracking and i knew it wouldn't be long before it gave in. One day on a fast stretch of road 5 teeth let go...

The Best Sport: Dangerous But Fun!
Review of Cycling - General by
HotMonkey
Advantages: A great fun way to get out and about!
Disadvantages: You can really hurt yourself ! ! !
...Mountain biking or MTB for short is a great sport, but it can be very dangerous. This review should tell you every thing you need to know.
Picking the right bike:
--------------------------
You will obviously need a nice looking bike but it has to be right for you. First of all you will have to ask yourself two questions.
1. What are you going to use your bike for?
There are five types of mountain biking:
. DIRT JUMPING (DJ)
. CROSS COUNTRY/MOUNTAIN CROSS (MX)
. STREET
. DOWNHILL (DH)
. RACING
All of these are great fun but they are dangerous. All require a technique and a lot of practice.
Dirt jumping, is where you jump off ready-made jumps or ramps.
Cross Country/Mountain Cross, is where you ride on mostly flat plains and it is racing but there are jumps on course.
Street is where you find any old place on the street and do...

Good fun and practical, on a budget.
Review of Kawasaki ER5 by
RogerBVH
Advantages: Great commuter and fun to ride
Disadvantages: Drops into corners a bit too quick if u are light!
...Motorcycle: Kawasaki ER5 (2001 model)
For: Good commuter bike and fun to ride
Against: Gets a bit windy at speed
Value: No doubt that you are getting quite a bit of bike for the money!
Costs: Parts are pretty cheap and servicing can easily be done at home in the garage. Fuel consumption is very frugal even when the bike is pushed hard and insurance is next to nothing, even for riders under 25.
Reliability: Bomb proof
Driving: The bike is fun to ride but it is no razor sharp 600cc super sports. It turns in quick enough if you counter steer but would benefit from a stickier set of tyres than the standard tourers supplied if you want to push the bike harder. Lighter riders may have some trouble as this bike weighs in at 170kg so may drop into corners a little quick unless you are over 12 stone!
Performance: Pretty good. It will leave most...

Review of Truimph Tiger 955i 2001
Review of Triumph Tiger by
JamesinOxford
Advantages: Comfort, Nibbleness, Loe depreciation
Disadvantages: Slow Speeds, Reversing when you're a shorta@
...Hello again, I’ve not been writing for a while I’ve been busy designing a house from scratch and been doing the bureaucratic rounds to resolve all the issues with various depts.
I sold my BMW at the beginning of the summer and purchased the Triumph Tiger 955 injected model 2001, the first year they came out, but obviously 3 years old. I got a good deal with only 4500 miles on the clock. That’s gone up now to 7500 miles.
The colours that these are produced were in Orange, Green, Black and silver, I have bought the green one Lime green at that. Well done Triumph, It certainly gets you noticed. If there’s any motorbike to stand out on the road, then this would certainly be the one. It’s a tall machine, huge bulbous tank that shows even more of those colours than a smaller bike can do. There is no excuse for a car driver to say “I...

Tyre Pressure, Good, Peer Pressure, Bad!
Review of Members Advice on Buying Toys by
BNibbles
Advantages: Buying the right bike makes it a less frequent event
Disadvantages: It only starts with buying the bike - what about knowing how to ride it?
...Amazing isn’t it? Only last night, over a pint or two, there I was admiring the new bike that Kate (Mattygroves) and her husband Pete had just bought for their daughter, and here I am writing about the decision-making process! Mental note: Must drink London Pride more often.
Despite the fact that I tend to buy bikes ‘in bits’ or at least second hand, my job as a cycling instructor, with a responsibility for checking bikes out before they get used on the school playground, or worse still, on the road, does I suppose mean that I know a ‘thing or two’ about choosing a bike, and how to make sure that it fits your needs.
Years ago, there was only one basic shape of bike, with a diamond-shaped frame, the only real exception being the ‘ladies’ model with the step-through version to enable skirt wearers the dignity of not showing off next week...

Great Basic Allrounder
Review of Saracen Hardtrax by
bigdgaff
Advantages: Great acceleration, Slick gear change
Disadvantages: Lowish top speed due to gear ratios, supplied brake blocks are poor
...front suspension on dirt tracks, it will handle them too, although you may feel a bit sore in the arms the next morning. However in it's favour on the dirt tracks, I got a lot of feedback through the rigid frame and was able to cope with sections that riders with front suspension bikes found difficult.
Although it is only a small niggle, the braking is only average with standard cantilever brakes. It is easy to fix that though, by going to your local bike shop and buy a set of decent brake blocks. You should be able to get a set thrown in free when you buy the bike if you are good at haggling though.
A perfect first step up the ladder to the +£500 big shot bikes.
When I say I will probably not buy this product again, it is because my next bike is likely to be in the £700+ region so I can get involved in some decent club cycling Although I...

Buy British?
Review of Triumph Daytona 900 by
Traceyfj12
Advantages: Good Solid bike
Disadvantages: Can become quite uncomfortable on long journeys
...About a year ago, my husband and I purchased a Triumph Daytona 900. M registration in Teal green, in very good condition. The mileage was quite low and the price was right.
Since that day my husband has taken it to work everyday with no troubles at all, apart from the right hand switchgear going all wrong and the starter button stopped working but we got a new switch for it.
Finding parts secondhand or from breakers can prove difficult for Triumphs because they seem to still be on the roads rather than crashed! I would say this is the case because they are definitely not the sort of bike that you throw around like you would a Hyabusa or GSXR 1100 etc maybe!?!
This bike is comfortable for both rider and pillion although after riding for a long period of time, you tend to find that the next day your arms are killing you. I can...

King or queen of the road
Review of Honda XL125V Varadero by
Nina85
Advantages: Big, stylish and comfortable
Disadvantages: Some design faults, should have 6-speed gearbox
...Yamaha Dealer, to his amazement there was a Varadero at the front of the shop. It was for sale. He couldn’t believe his luck. The next day he took me to see it. I’d never paid much attention to the bike and had only seen one picture of it previously. We pulled up outside the shop on the TW. We got off the bike and went over to the selection of motorbikes for sale out the front. He pointed it out to me. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I’m not an expert on motorbikes, quite the latter in fact, but this bike was the mutts’ nuts! Lined up the Fazers and the R6’s, it looked amazing. I couldn’t believe it was only a 125. The V-Twin engine looked huge and the fairing was stylish. It looked more like a 500cc motorbike. The only give away was a little hole at the end of the meaty exhaust. Honda cunningly left out any signs that would give away...

2004 Specialized Allez Elite Double Blue / White
Review of Specialized Bicycle Allez Elite Double by
cbaynton
Advantages: Lightweight , Build quality , Components
Disadvantages: Absolutely none !
...One word describes this bike ... AWESOME !
O.k so this bike isn't going to be in everyones price range as at approx £1,000 it isn't cheap & could be classed as a luxury .
But as the saying goes ... "You get what you pay for!"
It had been a long , long time since i had ridden a racing bike , I had had the odd mountain bike in y 20's & early 30's , But they didn't really suit my style of riding.
I spent a long long time researching what bike I would buy as I didn't have money to burn & I wanted to get it right & not regret my purchase for years to come.
After perusing various brands I finally settled on the Specialized , It wasn't the cheapest of the bikes , but then it wasn't the most expensive.
I'm not a die hard fanatic , but I had been bitten in the past on shoddy build quality & didn't want the bike to fall apart after...
