Navman S30 3D Satnav

Advantages: Good sound quality, Excellent re-route calculation.
Disadvantages: Gets a litte confused in busy cities due to the volume of roads.

Long-term use of Canon S30

Advantages: Manual features, sturdy, excellent pictures
Disadvantages: Umm...too big?

...I thought I'd write a review of this camera from the point of view of a long-term assessment of its performance (rather than most out of the box type things). I have to say that I love my camera, and ever since I bought have not used either of my 35mm cameras. The S30 has a lovely polished look to it and feels sturdy, it has stood up to some fairly rough treatment over the year or so that I have had it (including some small drops at times). I was a little worried that the sliding the lens cover might break (it seemed a little flimsy) or I might damage the lens when in a rush to close it, but neither of these fears have materialised. However I have always felt that the camera's start-up time is a little on the long side - it can take as long as 8-9 secs to get ready to shoot (somewhat longer than taking the lens cap of an SLR...

My life with the 'S' type

Advantages: Looks
Disadvantages: Not as quiet as I had expected

...I have owned my 3litre auto 'S' type since June 1999 and have covered over 40,000 miles. The car was supplied with most of the possible accessories (except satellite nav - far too expensive, and CAT suspension). The car was an early production model so (I suspect) suffered from some extra problems. Excessive road noise was cured by the fitting of a 'German Autobahn' sound deadening kit (free of charge) and made quite a difference. Service costs have been kept to the Jaguar guarantee of £150 + vat (every 10,000). Fuel consumption on high speed motorway journeys can top 30mpg, but 26mpg is the average. One amazing feature of the car is Jaguars ability to change the entire software when in for a service. The latest software upgrade (to cure a minor problem with the airconditioning) has had an unbelievable effect on the 0-60mph...

...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. iPhone 3G S will have you stunned!

Advantages: It's advanced technology and huge variety of features.
Disadvantages: The very low and quickly decreasing battery life.

...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. Elvis No. 1's

Advantages: Lots of tracks ranging through the years.

...I bought this album for myself when Elvis was coming back into fashion with the general masses when the single "A little less conversation" was released. You would think the title of the album being 30 No. 1's all the classics would be on there but i was sadly mistaken. Its funny to not find certain songs on there that you would definetly think were hits. The cd is accompanied by a inner booklet that gives track listings and a small explanation about when each song was released and what era,who wrote them etc. At the back you have a section by which you can order Elvis merchandise. You can even apply for an Elvis credit card!!! All the songs on the album are good but to get a better idea of how good Elvis really was you need to delve further than just a best of album. Maybe this album would suit someone who just wanted a brief...
