The HP 300's bigger, stronger brother

...This range of print cartridges from HP is the bigger and better version of the HP300. Those of you who remember my stunning, wrongly uncrowned review of the HP300 will remember how it ran out after just 140 pages. Well, this time I splashed out on the upgrade. Basically, these cost £30 each, although I picked them up on ebay for around £19 brand new and sealed. They are print cartridges that do a lot more than the HP300. The black and white cartridge will give 600 pages of print (4 times what I got out of its baby brother at just twice the price). The colour one gives 440 pages. The cartridges are tidy and easy to install ? they just click into place. There?s no ink around and you won?t get ink everywhere which is ideal. ...I was wondering the other day how did people ever live before mobile phones were widely used? Did they make arrangements in advance and have to stick to them as there was no way of cancelling? ...I have had my Samsung SGH S300 for 6 months now and feel I did not waste my money. I do however have thumbs down for the non existent Bluetooth technology. The phone is provided with 2 batteries. Both are different in the standby duration. The extended life battery gives you roughly another day of standby mode. You have an external clock. This is only activated when you press and hold down the external volume button for a few seconds. You can change the colour of the external flashing light which is activated when you receive a call or message. The keys to the Samsung SGH S300 lighten up in a very attractive blue. More attractive when you are using your mobile at night. You have 40 polyphonic ring tones and have a WAP browser too. Sony BDP-300

Advantages: SIMPLE TO SET UP,
Disadvantages: NO EHERNET, NOT AS SOLID AS OTHER MACHINES

...Considering how much effort sony invested in the blu-ray format, it was a weirdly long time getting players on o the market - players that weren't globe straddling games consoles, anyhow. And having finally got its finger out, the resulting BDP-300 is not quite the format-war-winning lap of honour you might expect. Though sturdily and attractivly built, up to sony's usual standards, loads discs relatively quickly and is simple to use, its not without compromises. It decodes hi-def audio on board, but cant send it via HDMI. It's missing BD 1.1 ability and has no ethernet port for future firmware upgrades. And picture quality, where you might expect it to claw back some credibility, raises a few more doubts. Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: everything only if you watch another film before

...I have to admit I did do something wrong when watching this film. I happened to have watched "Meet The Spartans" before I watched this, so I kind of already knew the plot and sort of seriously got bored with this film, as I was expecting the funny bits come leaping out, unfortunately there was no funny bits and it was deadly serious, so at first I couldn't understand it but then I settled down to it however I have to admit I really do prefer the soundtrack over this film! 300 v's How Many?????

Advantages: excellent story, amazing effects, hunky half dressed men!
Disadvantages: Bit far fetched with creatures at the end

Sennheiser CX300 - a great upgrade earphone

Advantages: Great sound clarity, very comfortable
Disadvantages: Higher frequencies not as refined as other earphones

...on the comfort stakes. The material used is very soft, with a matt finish and the medium size for me was just right. They don't fit too deep inside the ear canal, just a little way in. Once fitted they really block out a a lot of outside noise, so are perfect if you listen in a noisy environment. Of course, I used the CX300's with my trusty iPod (what else) and the clarity of sound delivered was superb. Bass was nice and deep, the mid-range was rich and the treble end was very good too. In comparison to others, it was only the higher end that was not as refined, nothing to worry about, but worth mentioning. Even at high volume they behaved impeccably, keeping things clean all the way. So when you buy an iPod, yes the supplied earphones are OK, but invest a little and you will enjoy your music a whole lot more. The paltry asking price for a pair...

Sennheiser CX 300

Advantages: Sound quality, bass, ability to block out background noise
Disadvantages: Very flimsy for the price and no case included

...I bought these roughly a year ago and they only lasted a few months. The sound quality is very, very good. Having been stuck using the basic iPod earphones prior to these, the CX 300 were a refreshing change. The bass on them is certainly more than adequate. Although some in-ear headphones don't block out background noise very well you won't have that problem with these. As long as you have the correct sized cover on the headphones the background noise will be blocked out completely meaning you can have your mp3 player on below half max volume and hear the music very clearly. Prior to these I'd never used in-ear headphones before and was somewhat concerned as to whether they'd be to hard and rough on my ear. The Sennheiser however are very soft, not too large and quite easy to use. So, why didn't they last me very long? The wire...
