Kenwood SM606 - Sandwiches are now fun!

Advantages: It does considerably more than your standard Sandwich Toaster!
Disadvantages: A shame the plates can't be removed to clean.

...Our old Sandwich maker was certainly showing signs of age, not least loss of its non stick coating. But it was 15 years old so it wasn't too hard to finally accept it needing replacing. Onkyo 606 with Kef 2005.2

Advantages: Wide range of features relative to cost
Disadvantages: Size

...I picked up the eagerly anticipated Onkyo 606 a few weeks ago; I have paired it with a KEF 2005.2 5.1 surround speakers, both in silver finish. I purchased both from A1 Audio based in Sheffield, who supplied direct to me in Glasgow. The Onkyo system replaces a Sony out of the box DVD/surround 5.1 system... and what a difference, just a totally different experience. I have hooked up the Onk with my PS3 via HDMI for gaming, DVDs & Blu-ray use. Am not gonna put anything on the spec of the 606 here, as that is pretty widely available elsewhere. Out of the box the 606 is pretty imposing, it is a large and weighty piece of kit, and feels well put together. As i said, it is big, really big, much more so than I appreciated when I ordered it, I had to remove a shelf from the tv stand to allow it to fit, still, that serves me right...

...Having been stuck with a busted camcorder on the morning on an important family visit, I dashed to a major electrical store to source a replacement, stumbled across this camera, researched the others on display and chose the S26 for ease of use, merit for the make (I bought Lumix TZ5 and have been really pleased with it, quality, capabilities etc, great lens) and general feel for the camera. in my opinion, X70 zoom works very well, resolution excellent for an "older" user and their "junior" assistants. I think that Transfer speed is not rapid, but "so what" in a camera at this price point. Very happy to recommend for general everyday trouble free use. BUT buy it on line for £60 less than the big stores and be even more satisfied that I am Ron...

...The Fuji FinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered. The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too. The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed. There are 14 preset scenes to choose from, each setting the camera to its optimum settings for the given scenario, but on top of this, the camera can be used...

Onkyo TX-SR606 super value home cinema sound

Advantages: Easy to set-up, great sound, HDMI switching and upscaling
Disadvantages: Cannot rename inputs

...I bought my HDMI switch box last year it cost almost £150 alone. The SR606's HDMI inputs offer either a straight through signal at 1080P or you can upscale to 1080i from either the HDMI or component inputs. The sound is very crisp and detailed. The lower frequencies are handled nicely, though not as refined as higher priced units. One thing it does do very well is steering, the surround sound this baby delivers is awesome. The remote is very basic, but does all that you need. Oh and I almost forgot to mention... the set-up procedure is automatic, you plug in a little mic, position it as instructed on your screen and set the Onkyo going. Lots of funny noises and about 10 minutes later it is ready to go. I thought this was worth mentioning as not all people are technically minded, so having this auto feature is a great addition....

Onkyo TX-SR 606 receiver

Advantages: Cheap price, 4 HDMI inputs, and HD audio compliant.
Disadvantages: Not a lot!

...Hi ! The new onkyo TX-SR 606 is the best surround amp on the market for under £500 period. We borrowed one for a few weeks whilst our onkyo TX-SR 875 was being repaired. We bought our 875 last year for £999.99 and this new buget model is about 95% of the performance of the 875. It has 4 HDMI inputs and is HD audio and video compliant. It is easy to set up, and sounds fantastic with movies. We have used the HD video scaler and normal DVDs look vastly improved. The unit we borrowd was in black (it is available in silver also) and looked substantial and stylish. Regarding the sound it steers audio around the room fantastically and never seems to be trying too hard or sounding harsh at higher levels. Overall a brilliant buy....

GT-S5600: A Great Touch Screen Phone

Advantages: Great Camera, Easy to use touch screen and lovely colour
Disadvantages: Easily Scratched and has an irritating vibrate eveytime you touch something

The contract is with Orange Dolphin and costs £15 a month and includes the phone, 100 minutes of calls to any network and unlimited texts. ---The Phone Itself--- The phone is a bar phone, not slide or swivel. It is approximately 10cm/4? in length and 5.5cm/2? in width. My version is in nice pale lilac though it does come in black and white. The screen is a touch screen, and measures 4.5cm wide and 6cm in length. At the base of the phone there is three buttons, two of equal size with a nice brush metal effect, the equal size buttons are the ones that allow you to answer calls and end them. ...For anyone who doesn't know about the programme the basic format is that it is a football show Presented by Richard Littlejohn, Sun columnist and ex-chat show host. The programme starts at 6:06pm and lasts till around 9:00pm. Football fans phone Littlejohn up to explain any major events that may have just happened at the match they just attended or to complain that a manager should be sacked. Although this formula may sound repetitive it actually provides entertaining radio as there are frequent flare-ups between Littlejohn and those who opinions he disagrees with. Littlejohn keeps the programme flowing fluidly with his dry with and confrontational approach to those he disagrees with. He is assisted by Fiona who mans the computer to read out any e-mails.
