Nokia 6500s Review

Advantages: features, easy to use, excellent camera/video quality
Disadvantages: speakers not clear during phone calls, phone freezing due to memory card not reading

...Nokia 6500s is a great phone with easy navigation, good look and not to forget an excellent camera quality with a 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera. I have had this phone for quite a few months and I would have to say, although it has similar features to previous Nokia phones, it is still a good phone. Advantages of this phone are that it has a brilliant camera, the phone itself is easy to use, has wide range of features including a 3.2MP camera, video recoder, a music player, radio, web, games and applications, and more. There aren't many disadvantages regarding this phone, however, from my experience whilst having this phone, I encountered a few problems. For instance, if the back cover came off, then the memory card would stop reading which would result in the phone freezing at random times, but once I completely took the memory...

It actually has many of the features of the S9500 including the f2.8-f4.9, 10.7x optical zoom lens and if truth be known, is not far off being the same price, the same size and the same weight as the S9500. The S6500 is supposed to be the lower-spec camera, so it lacks a few of the S9500's features. It only has a 6.3-megapixel SuperCCD HR sensor, compared to a 9.0-megapixel sensor. The 2.5in, 235,000 pixel LCD monitor is bigger and sharper, but lacks the S9500's fold-out ability. ...Having replaced my Fuji S5500 with the Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd, I was a little taken aback at the controls and the size of the owners manual. The quality of the photos are totally outstanding and it has 10mb of internal memory, nice touch. but no supplied XD card, I guess a trade off has to be made somewhere. The large LCD screen makes taking pics easier and coupled with the automatic face detection it helps to ensure that the faces are by and large in focus. There is a large range of presets and there is the manual mode where the user can, if they know what to do, can achieve professional quality images with ease. ...After recently getting rid of my old Orange contract and moving to O2 I decided to get a new phone as well. After much deliberation I decided on the Nokia 6500 slide in black. I could have got the silver phone at a much cheaper price but I decided that the black one looked too good to turn down. First Impressions If you look at the phone from a top down view you will see that the screen is quite big. Infact it is 2.2 inches which is fairly big. Below the screen are four buttons as well as 4 directional buttons in silver. The bottom two buttons are the main calling buttons. The one on the bottom left is the green "call" button which is used to dial a number you've typed in or look at the recent call list. The one on the bottom right is the "end call" button which ends calls and, when in the menu, takes you back to the home screen...

...Well a few months ago my phone contract came up for renewal. I have been a customer of O2 for a long time and so I know that I can always get myself a good deal on a contract. I also wanted a new phone as part of the deal as my old phone was looking a bit old and scratched etc. I rang up O2 and managed to get myself a great deal as usual and they asked what new phone I would like. I had seen the Nokia 6500 Classic on a few websites and quite liked the look of it so asked for it. They were able to give me the phone I wanted which was great and I haven't been disappointed. When I look for a phone I want something that is simple to use and attractive at the same time. I have had slide phones and flip phones before and although they are quite attractive and small as well I found that I actually preferred just a straightforward phone...

Advantages: Wide array of featues, good build quality, overall friendly interface, excellent call clarity.
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better, some features not implemented as well as possible.

...would still recommend the Nokia 6500 to any buyer, particularly those who have been missing out on a number of newer features. The problems I have encountered may be mildly irritating at the time but they only slightly detract from an otherwise very good product....

...After using my Nokia 6300 for around a year I decided to upgrade. I had the choice of a number of phones however opted to go for the Nokia 6500 Slide. I can see where some confusion can come from when it comes to the Nokia 6500: The Nokia 6500 Classic and Nokia 6500 Slide are two quite different phones. The classic came first and has a more traditional mobile phone layout and boasts a medicore 2.0MP camera. The slide on the other hand is the upgrade to the Classic and boasts an ultra sleek slide design with a pretty good 3.2MP camera with flash. It also comes with a front facing camera however unfortunately it can only be used while making 3G video calls and not just to take pictures. Although the phone looks very sleek and well built. I have had the phone for around a month and when I press the buttons it sometimes does not...
