...Stargate S.G.1 based on the Stargate movie. This series is one of the best science fiction series ever. The series follows S.G. 1 on their missions to other planets through the Stargate. The S.G. 1 team are made up of Jack O'Neill (2 L's), Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson and eventually Teal'c. Colonel Jack O'Neill is very anti establishment and has a lot of funny one liners and always seems to be the one getting shot, blown up, zapped, transported or whatever. Richard Dean Anderson plays him. Captain Carter is the science geek, if it is broke or needs fixing she can fix it. She uses words like exponentially a lot. Amanda Tapping plays her. Stargate S.G.1- SERIES 3

Advantages: Charactor classics
Disadvantages: you want more

...is Teal'c. He's an alien. This series is endorsed by the Air Force. This disk is really a good one because it contains one of my favorite shows from the season, which is saying something considering how many episodes I really like in this season. This is a good disk with 4 good shows. I'd like to say it's the best of this set, but I can't because this set has a lot of really good shows on it. Episode 1: Into the Fire "Previously, on Stargate SG-1?" Hathor has managed to capture Jack, Sam and Daniel (but not Teal,'c though she might have rejected him because she couldn't mess with his mind as easily.) She almost had them convinced that everyone else on the team was dead and that s/he held vital information from the last mission, but our heroes aren't so stupid. Final Part of an Epic First Series

Advantages: Superb characters
Disadvantages: Possibly too dark and too gruesome for some viewers

...with Sara. Dourdan adds another dimension to the cast and therefore to the series as a whole. He plays the troubled Warrick with an ease and a conviction that makes him endearing to the audience. Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) is the final team investigator. She was once a student of Grissom?s and still strives for perfection whenever he is near. There is clearly a great fondness between the pair but this fondness doesn?t always spread to the rest of the team and for that reason Sara come often come across as a little too certain of herself. She is also an extremely emotional character and can easily fly into a rage. Jorja Fox handles the character of Sara very well and is clearly a very talented actress as she is more than capable of moving between a hard-nosed image and a more sensitive one. The CSI?s however aren?t the only frequent characters...

M*A*S*H - THE COMPLETE SERIES

Advantages: A great series all in one collectors boxset
Disadvantages: The price!!!

...This is the popular TV Series that started in 1972 and finished in 1983, 34 discs and lot's and lot's of laughs along the way. One of the most successful TV sitcoms produced, covering the worst of America's Wars (sorry, Police action). The Korean war in the 1950's. The Story..... The war is raging 3 miles from the M*A*S*H (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital), and all sorts of problems and catastrophes are going on at the good old 4077th. ...We have now reached the half way point in the Friends story with Season 5 and this is where the characters and their storylines have become very established and we feel like we really know them and that they are our actual friends. We feel their pain, laugh at their character stereotypes which we know so well and cry at their misfortunes. This DVD box set was released in 2004 and amazingly you can now buy it from Amazon for a very low £5.98, probably because it is over 5 years old and because the re-runs are on the television all the time that people really no longer need to buy the DVD but I think it?s nice to have the full set so you can watch your favourite episodes whenever you want to. Advantages: Great Series That Will Have You Laughing Along
Disadvantages: An Extra Disk Of Other Material Would Have Been A Nice Addition

...I am not really the best reviewer of DVDs so please cut me some slack if i appear to be rambling. But anyway, MASH is a television show about the Korean war and focuses on a MASH unit (Mobile Army Surgical Headquarters), the 4077th. Admittedly this doesn't seem the best place to set a comedy series, but this turns out to be a barrel of laughs with some well written sly wit and one liners that really make the show what it is. For me the best of the series occurred earlier on, when the main characters were still intact, but although the later ones focuses more on the drama elements of the series, but they are still good. The main characters are Trapper and Hawkeye, two top notch surgeons staying in the same tent who work well together and the comedy interaction between them is great, mocking some of the other surgeons and generally making...

Advantages: Very high build quality, silent running, prestige, badge, lush, solid, fast, sumptuous.
Disadvantages: Difficult to park, dealer will empty your bank balence, large car - small....... !

Because of this, I get the nod when any quality vehicles turn up in the scrapper (for what ever reason they were scrapped).... many times this is down to un-economic repair costs. Which are for this beast, astronomical? ...well if you are prey to main dealer prices and practices, cars like this will never be owned by the 'less well offs' and I include myself in that statement. It's better to be lucky than rich sometimes. For me, it's a case of; sod the usual car buying outlets and get your self down the scrapper. Lucky for me then! A Good Continuation Of A Good Series

Advantages: 25 episodes for £17!? Bargain!
Disadvantages: Lack of extras and subtitles.

...That 70's Show Season 3 I first got into That 70's Show after seeing an episode on the "Trouble" channel on Sky. Unfortunately they just kept repeating the same episodes so then the end I gave up and bought the box set for Season 1, and once I finished that the box set for Season 2, and then Season 3. Happily Season 3 has plenty of good points. The writing is still strong and fresh, probably aided by the set up of strong storylines during the first two seasons. Some of the issues they highlight are still relevant to teenagers today, ranging from smoking cannabis to first dates. But some other episodes remind you how far things have come along in the past 30 years, for example one episode where Eric, one of the main characters finds it hilarious that his girlfriend Donna would want to work rather than be a stay-at-home mother...

The Best series from Channel 4's Teachers

Advantages: Brilliantly observed humour and characters with real chemistry
Disadvantages: Lack of extras on the disk lets this one down

...'Teachers' is one of Channel four's most successful comedy dramas in its history and lasted a more than respectable four series'. The series follows a group of 20 something's though the highs and lows of working as a teacher. Living together, working together, trying to get laid, trying to keep their job and getting away with smoking at school are just some of the things the teachers have to get on with. Based in fictional Bristolian school Summerdown high we can see that Teachers can be more immature than the children they actually teach. Filmed in a quirky direction similar to other British shows such as Green Wing and Coupling, 'Teachers' made a name for themselves and became a firm favourite. Its surreal moments have got people talking and its crazy background goings on made people laugh out loud. In many ways it a funny drama...
