My Fuji S100FS
Advantages: Fantastic colours
Disadvantages: lens gets in way of flash on macro
...I bought this camera to take with me on an expedition into the Amazon rainforest, which is one of the most difficult situations to take photography due to its constant low lighting and moving subjects.
The auto function on the camera was good, but was inadequate in low lighting, I found if I switched to manual I got much better photographs, but the problem with that was that it took me a while to get used to the functions before being quick enough to catch anything worthwile, but thats true of any camera when you first buy it.
One morning the sun was rising and there was a wonderful red tint in the sky which I wanted to catch, so I put it on the sunset setting and the result was fantastic, the colours were perfect if not more vivid than in real life, other people took the same photo on their cameras, and some of these had SLRs etc but...

Canon gadget bag. Excellent camera bag for your canon gear.
Advantages: Big enough for the average user, strong, comfortable to carry, flexible in use.
Disadvantages: More than one very long super-telephoto lens would be more difficult to accommodate.
...Canon gadget bag
When I recieved this bag I expected the bag to be slightly bigger than it actually was, but it is very flexible to use and you can fit a surprising amount of gear into it, without it being so big that it is awkward to use.
I have two camera bodies, an EOS 40D & an EOS 50D, not the smallest EOS cameras by a long way, and four lenses, a 10-22mm wide angle, a 17-85mm, a 60mm macro and a 70-300mm tele-zoom, plus a few acessories, which all fit quite easily into it, with room for another lens, lenshoods or a flashgun should I need it.
The bag is designed so that all your equipment is easily accessible, with everything to hand, and the dividers keep everything in place, so you are not continually searching around for things lost in the corners of the bag, in fact there are no sharp corners inside this bag...

Its a bag that does what you expect
Advantages: Light and compact.
Disadvantages: Style points are lacking
...Nothing to get too excited about this.
It compares to many other similar products but is noticeble in being very light weight and fits snuggly over the shoulder.
Plenty of room for camcorder, cables, spare battery packs and discs / memory cards. Even then, there is sufficient room to add a slim digital camera.
The style is okay but not inspiring. However, the price is good (about £13.00) for what you get and you can expect durability.
Most importantly, if your camera takes a knock, then this provides a high level of shock protection.
Weather protection is an important feature and I would be happy to have this on my shoulder in the rain wihout fear of the camera getting wet. However, I would'nt leave it outside of a tent etc whist camping.
Security is also fine. Straps will not break.
Worth a buy,...

It's in the bag - or not if you have a DX6490
Advantages: Well built with useful pockets
Disadvantages: Doesn't fit all of the cameras it says it does!
...about cases and camera bags...
After some fairly extensive searching the said junk mail was found, only, rather suprisingly, it turned out not to be junk. Rather, a neat offer was staring me in the face - purchase a listed camera and a Kodak dock or printer dock between December and March and send away for a free camera bag! Magic. For once I met the criteria and so, forms duly completed I sat back and waited.
The bag duly arrived in the post, securely packaged in a cardboard box that was much larger than I had expected. Upon opening I was pleasantly suprised at what I found.
~~~~~~
The bag itself is black and constructed of nylon covered vinyl. It's first appearance suggested a good quality, sturdy product with ample padding to protect your equipment.
The main part of the bag measures 27 cm x 17 x 14 and is accessed via...
Great creative tool
Advantages: Suitable for all skill levels, Great response, Increased control over pictures
Disadvantages: Takes a while to become familiar, Price a little high on release
...I had the pleasure of getting my hands on a demo model from work an it was an experience. This camera looks and feels great, nice and bulky in the hand, might be a little too big for smaller hands. The boot up time is a joy, almost instantaneous from off to shooting that first picture. The wealth of controls this camera has to offer is unparalleled by any bridge camera currently on the market, while all of these features take a while to get used to, soon you'll be familiar enough with them to get professional looking results. The image quality is nice and sharp (daylight, A 5.8 @ 1/2000) and the film simulation does service to the traditional art without the extra post processing needed with other similar camera....
Crumpler laptop + photo bag
Advantages: lightweight, safe, cute
Disadvantages: none
...Crumpler Pretty Boy XL Back Pack
Crumpler's an Australian company producing quality goods in the hold-anything bag industry, they specialize in laptop cases and bags, shoulder strap bags, camera bags and cellphone cases, but their product range is way wider including travel bags, trolleys, whatever-purpose backpacks and cases. Important to mention is that what makes it an outstanding trademark is besides inargumentable quality the products' looks. Crumpler is young, trendy, stylish, won't offend anybody and it has a spirit that makes you fall in love.
I've had my eye on Crumpler since quite a while, but since their stuff isn't the cheapest, I had been waiting for a good reason to invest my money into one of their beauties and that has come just now. I was in acute need of a camera bag and I also longed for a laptop backpack so that...
Click, click, I've got a camera bag!
Advantages: Lots of space, easy to use, padding!
Disadvantages: Slighter bigger than normal cases
...After I was brought my new digital Kodak Easyshare CX6330 camera for Christmas, which I also reviewed (hint, hint) and got over the initial disappointment of it not coming already equipped with a case, I decided that I would have to buy one. Or face the possibility of a broken/cracked/scratched camera, knowing how clumsy I am.
As I'm not really an experienced/passionate photographer, therefore wouldn't be carrying a great deal of equipment around with me, I decided that a small Kodak bag would do me just fine, opposed to the medium, large and premium ones that are also on the market.
I did some research on the internet, finding this product for sale on several sites, ranging from £6.99 - £12.99 (unfortunately I realised that the £6.99 one had VAT yet to added, bloody false advertising!), finally settling on Ebuyer which was...
Bag and baggage
Advantages: I don't have one
Disadvantages: I don't have one
...While awaiting inspiration for a new review, I remembered that this one was overdue for an update. Although I rewrote it a year or so ago for Dooyoo, to include selected items from handbag reviews posted over there, I never got round to revising the Ciao version. So here it is. All the articles mentioned appeared in reviews by women on one site or the other.
What have I in my handbag?
I mustn't tell you lies;
In truth the only bags I own
Are those beneath my eyes.
You don't need special insight,
No expertise in rockets,
To guess that, being just a man,
I keep stuff in my pockets.
But if I now said: "Nothing!
So there, and that?s your lot!"
You might not feel satisfied
And rate this Helpful ? Not.
In any case, the subject
Has made me realise how
Much women carry in their bags...
Bags of jiffy bag envelopes
Advantages: padds some fragile goods
Disadvantages: not suitable for glass
...I received a DVD in a jiffy bag recently opened the bag carefully and put the bag ready to reuse with about 20 other old jiffy bags I have ready for recycling. Actually I am not sure that all of them are genuine jiffy bags but they are the same sort of thing.
Jiffy bags made by Jiffy have been available for several years now I think they go back to the 1950?s.
Jiffy bags are handy padded envelope bags that can be bought in a variety of sizes some as small as to 164 x 285mm, then several sizes upwards to 247 x 387mm, probably even larger ones available.
The original bag is a golden brown heavy duty paper. The padded filling can be as simple as shredded paper. The envelope closures are one you peel to reveal a sticky surface this will then stick to seal the bag and contents.
Some jiffy bags are filled with a macerated...
Getting Your Kid Into Digital Cameras
Advantages: Features Like Any Regular Digital Camera
Disadvantages: 16 MB Internal Memory and No Zoom Capabilities
...No digital camera review on CIAO would be complete without a few entries about cameras designed for kids. After all, kids are almost universally enthusiastic about taking pictures. And parents with a love of photography often pass down their passion to their children. But digital cameras are not always kid-friendly, due to fragile construction, price, or complicated menus and buttons. The newest trend in children's electronics is a group of digital cameras made especially for small children. These cameras are easy to hold, come in bright colors that kids love, and have many of the same features as grown-up digital cameras. Kids love them.
The VTech KidiZoom Digital Camera is one of the top digital cameras for kids. This camera was made with fun in mind. Kids like the KidiZoom's large LCD screen and the onboard photo editing options...
