Audi S3

Advantages: Fast, sporty but subtle, great handling
Disadvantages: Fuel economy, lots of abused cars out there

...I own a 2002 S3 225bhp. In a few words - fast, good mid range torque, sporty look without having the boy racer look. It's a classy car which is quicker than most on the road. The only down points, and this is being picky is the fuel economy, noticeable turbo lag (especially when more than 2 people in the car) and the high service costs if you take it to audi. I take it to a vw-audi specialist though and they're fine. Prices are good now and i would recommend a fully loaded one - at least try for cruise and bose. I have sat nav too which is worth it. I don't have chrome mirrors and wouldn't at the price quoted for the originals - plus slightly tacky looking as there are a number of fake S3s out there with the cheap plastic chrome looking mirrors. Also I would prefer full leathers as the suedes get a bit worn on the drivers...

Review of Audi S3

Audi s3 2001

Advantages: excellent solid package with lots of credability
Disadvantages: mabye not wild enough for some

...I bought my audi s3 in january, so after 6 months of ownership I`d thought I would write a review. Cost of the s3 was expensive compared to most other hot hatches I paid £13k for a 2001 with 34,000 miles with full service history. Options wise the list is almost endless you can have the usual metallic paint, leather, sunroof, armrest. The s3 options are chrome mirror covers and lower side mouldings, Bose stereo upgrade heated seats, sat nav and cd changer in the boot. Mine is metallic grey with full heated leather, sunroof, Bose stereo upgrade which I love Tip- hold out for the car you really want and be prepared to wait to find the right one, theres no point settling for something you didn`t want! I have just taken it in for a service at Audi it needed the full one at 36k with a bit of negotiation I managed to get it...

30 Number 1's

Advantages: Some great songs
Disadvantages: Only for Elvis fans

...Elv1s 30 Number 1 hits delivers exactly what it says in the title. This CD is my hubbies and i must say I have been very plesantly suprised by the songs featured on it. ...The Mk1 Audi S3 built from 99 till 2003 and based on the A3 model it is the flagship of that range. there were 2 variants the 210bhp (99-02) and the 225nhp (02-03). Both Had the same 1.8 liter straight 4cylinder Turbocharged engine, the second had a variable valve timing to increase the bhp output. Manufacturer stated a 0-62 of 6 seconds. It was dubbed a Quattro as it used a 4 wheel drive system to distribute the power to where it was needed the most. The S3 was officially sold in Uk, Europe, Mexico and Australia but not officially in the USA. Some of the Main Features that came as standard on the new car were; xenon HID headlamps with high pressure washers, front fog lamps, 17 in "Avus" alloy wheels with 225/45R17 tires, electrically adjustable Recaro leather seats, climate control, alarm, electronic traction control...

Elvis No. 1's

Advantages: Lots of tracks ranging through the years.
Disadvantages: not all the greats

...I bought this album for myself when Elvis was coming back into fashion with the general masses when the single "A little less conversation" was released. You would think the title of the album being 30 No. 1's all the classics would be on there but i was sadly mistaken. Its funny to not find certain songs on there that you would definetly think were hits. The cd is accompanied by a inner booklet that gives track listings and a small explanation about when each song was released and what era,who wrote them etc. At the back you have a section by which you can order Elvis merchandise. You can even apply for an Elvis credit card!!! All the songs on the album are good but to get a better idea of how good Elvis really was you need to delve further than just a best of album. Maybe this album would suit someone who just wanted a brief...

Canon XL1s Camcorder

Advantages: Packed full of professional features
Disadvantages: Slow auto-focus

...I have used this camcorder for filming both corporate events and short films and for both it excelled. The camcorder produces excellent broadcast quality images and has full manual control over the image or can be set to full auto for less experienced users. Canon offer a wide range of accessories for the XL1s for the professional filmaker, these include a full manual lens, XLR audio adapter, black and white CRT viewfinder and many more. The camera is easy to use and is fairly lghtweight and portable which makes it ideal for electronic news gathering. The only issue I have with this camera is the slow autofocus speed, however unless you are doing very fast panning shots this is not a problem. In all a very good camcorder from Canon....

The iPhone 3GS is a rare thing; a product that beats the hype!

Advantages: Incredibly easy to use with huge selection of quality dowloadable apps. Almost perfect...

...Phone actually gets better over time. Version 3.1 has just been released This adds a bunch of new features including the Bluetooth headset voice controls mentioned above . How many other phones are this well supported? The S of 3GS stands for speed. Put simply, the iphone 3GS is incredibly quick. All of the supplied applications launch instantly. Even the bigger games take only a few seconds to launch. Apple don't bore us with processor speed or RAM figures that tend to bear little or no resemblance to real-world performance, instead saying that its 2x quicker then the old iPhone 3G. This makes everything feel very responsive indeed. From what I can gather the graphics performance is quicker again; more like 4x that of the 3G, which will be particularly useful for 3D gaming. The 3GS has a 3MP autofocus camera which takes good clean images...

Advantages: Good choice of tracks. Good cover versions. Diversity of artists.

Radio 1's Live Lounge C.D! Worth the wait?

Advantages: Fun covers you perhaps wouldn't expect.
Disadvantages: I can't think of any

...the song which perhaps you hadn't noticed when Nadine and her girls sing. It also great to hear the sniggers and giggles as they struggle to hit the high notes or leave one band member to sing on his own! Boy Kill Boy who are a great up and coming indie band cover Nelly Furtado's recent number one, Maneater. However at first its barely recognisable as their put their own spin on the song. Will young manages to turn the comedic Hey Ya by Outkast into a soulful and unforgettable track - he's certainly more than a reality tv show star showing his talent at protraying the lyrics with emotion. Keane Cover U2's With or Without you, an all time great song, which you would almost cringe at the thought of someone else trying to do. However they pull it off superbly with gorgeous, soft almost tinkling keyboard in the intro and Tom's soothing...
