...I had previously own the Samsung E720 and loved it - so when i heard that a similar yet better version had been produced i was really excited. As my previous phone had been pay and go - i decided to go for a contact which enabled me to get the Samsung S500i the week it became available on contract. Initially i was impressed the handset is sleek, modern and lightweight. The i-mode gave me quicker and faster access to the internet whilst on the move. Being an avid ebay user i was bowled over by the fact that i could bid through i-mode on my handset. The battery seems to last longer than with the E720 both on standby and talk time. The reception and sound quality are very good too. But then i discovered some flaws...... ...three weeks two of the keys had cracked. The crack was quite literally right in the middle of the keys. When the keys on the phone cracked, I looked on the internet to see if anyone else had had the same problem. I found that there were lots of people whose keys had cracked. I don't text a lot, I normally just phone so I was surprised to see that the keys had cracked. You can still use the keys when they've cracked but it didn't make the fact the keys had split any better. The phone measures 99 x 47 x 14 mm and weighs 94g. Overall I think that just because of the poor quality of the phone, the Sony Ericsson S500i is not worth it.... Read review

...Ignore pic with this review, it's wrong. Sleek black clam shell phone from Samsung with i mode. You can play your MP3 files using the keys on front of phone, as long as you have them in the music folder. It doesn't open the MP3 folder. Yes it has MP3, Bluetooth, i mode, camera and video. Unfortunately you can't use the MP3 files for ringtones, you have to stick to polyphonic. I have found that the Bluetooth doesn't like working with my computer, so I always have to use the lead and software it comes with. The video only records 30 seconds of movies. The camera is 1.2 mgp like the D600, as is poor. Apparantly this phone is only available with o2. The battery life is poor. Just on standby it lasts about 18 hours. This is definately not a phone I would recommend to people.... Read review

...This phone is brilliant. Granted, the keys have cracked, almost all of them, but still I haven't come across another phone with such sophisticated customisable options. Not to mention that the phone itself comes in Black- my personal favourite and I believe to be the most striking with the black and green contrast, Gold, Purple- nice, although common with o2 doing promotional offers on this colour and lastly, the Cath Kidson Special Edition, available at Carphone Warehouse- covered in beautiful pink lillies, it's a girl's dream. On this phone, you have customisable light effects and themes (as with any sony-ericsson). The only downside of this phone would be the camera, as the 2 megapixel isn't overly poor, but it lacks a flash and zooming on normal mode. You can only zoom in 'burst' mode which takes four simultaneous photographs... Read review

...i have this phone currently. I must say im pleased with the look of the phone being slim, sliding the buttons being placed nicely plus i got mine in a cute purple colour. But thats all this phone has goin for it I like to store music on my phone and i find my memory card is constanly being not recognised, therefore i have to keep resetting my ringtone, and wall papers. I have also had to send the phone into repair twice. The screen has gone funny on it and my buttons stopped working the second time. The phone is not very reliable thats for sure. but it does hav some good points like the game brain juice is amazing!!!!!! its a bit like the brain training game plus im on O2 now and i get excellent reception everywhere! to conclude i'd say its an excellent phone for sensible organised people who are more carefull with their phone then me... ...I fell in love with this phone while I was shopping for a new phone. I saw the pictures and descriptions of it and I knew I had to have it. I will break this down into categories: Looks/aesthetics: Simply stunning. Easily one of the most stylish and attractive phones out there. When closed, the phone is a tiny and compact slab of of reflective black with contrasting white edges. The colorful keyboard is revealed when the cover is slid up. The black matte rubberized backing feels great in the hand and also serves as a slip resistant on hard surfaces. I saved the best part for last. When initially opened, the phone lights up with hidden leds that illuminate the sides of the phone as well as the keypad in dull light. The center ring also lights up in a bright green. ...I bought this phone simply because i needed a new mobile and it was going pretty cheaply, so i was pleasently surprised when i found out how many little gadgets it had on it. With Camera, Mp3 player and i-mode it is a very useful little thing to have on you. If i'm honest i haven't really used the MP3 player because i have one anyway. I have put music on it, which was fairly easy once i had downloaded the software because i wasn't given the CD wih the phone! but its all quite painless to use. However i'm not sure if this is just me being stupid or what but you don't seem to be able to set the music as your ringtone, so im stuck with an extreamely annoying song as my ringtone. As for the camera, it sais that it has a 2 megapixel camera on it, however im not convinced it is because the pictures are pretty rubbish and very hard to even... Read review

...I brought this phone two weeks ago and have been very happy with it so far. It didn't really take any setting up apart from putting in the time and date. It's also really easy to get the hang of, and although I did look through the manual I probably could have worked it. Look This phone is stylish, and certainly stands out, with its sleek black case with green keypad and back (also availible in yellow and silver). It also has lights down each side which glow when in use, and do light patterns when receiving a call, which can be varied for each caller. It also has a moving wallpaper which is nice, and can be set to change at random intervals (which I have it on, which is exciting as your never sure what it's going to show when you slide it open, and if you'll have butterflies across the screen or if it will be raining!) or it can be set... ...The Sony Ericsson S500i is the best phone that I have had, and I have had a lot of phones reasons why it is a great phone are shown below along with a few bad points but every phone has bad points this one has a little less than other phones. The fact that it is a slide phone mean that it is helpful for calls all you have to do is just have slide it up and the call is answered. The phone has great reception, which is good because the majority of phones have not so good reception but if you want a phone the better the reception the better the phone actually is. The phones colour is fantastic, I have owned many phones, but this one is the best by far.
