Advantages: A sports saloon car!
Disadvantages: Costly to repair!

...I have owned this Car for about 6 years now. It was a very Luxury car when i purchased it and i'm glad to say it still is! The interior of it is very similar to that of a Mercedes S class which as we all know is the best of the best when it comes to luxury in saloon cars. When i first bought this car the cd player broke straight away and i was told that it would cost in the region of £1000+ to get it fixed, now i was happy with listening to the radio so this has still not been fixed but other than that i have never had anything go wrong with it. And i would rather have no CD player than a car with a working Cd player but an unreliable car. The Volvo s70 has a full leather interior as standard and electric front seats, which also have seat warmers which are very handy in the winter. as for leg room, i couldn't have asked...

An Excellent Car

Advantages: Superb performance, excellent handling
Disadvantages: Watch that speedo

...During the servicing of my Volvo S40 (see my separate report on that little lemon) I was fortunate that the servicing agents let me have the use of an S70 on a couple of occasions. The car was finished in a Peppermint Metallic colour which is a very pale green. The colour took some getting used to but the car was a gem. I read later the car had 170bhp but it felt much more, the power just came in so beautifully needing just a squeeze of the throttle to have the scenery moving past the windows quickly. Drop a gear or two and floor it and a comparatively short overtaking manouvre you might not have attempted in another car could be achieved with ease. The car was very comfortable, the driving position so commanding the world seemed a little inferior. A glance back as you swept passed lesser cars has a view dominated by as big a spoiler...

Review of Volvo S70 2.4

Probably the best compact camera out there!

Advantages: resolution, picture quality, price, RAW mode
Disadvantages: weight- this camera is heavy, large file sizes mean that you need a larger memory card.

...range of f2.8-5.3 meaning that you will be able to take low light shots without a flash. It also has a 28mm-100mm range meaning that it'll take a lovely wide angle shot. No other compacts have a lens as good as this one, and trust me I've searched. Raw Mode: For those of you who are into editing your pictures in photoshop, the S70 has a device where you can change the picture format from JPEG to RAW. Obviously this is mainly for people really into photography, but it's so nice to have a small camera capable of doing shots in Raw. Manual Mode: Another feature most other compacts don't have. You can totally control the shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings in manual. Or just use the aperture priority mode or shutter priority mode. Aiwa NSX-V70 Stereo System.

Advantages: Good tone quality, good tape recording quality
Disadvantages: Needs longer leads on speakers - needs frequent CD lens cleaning

...1995 seems like a long time ago but that's when we bought our Aiwa NSX-V70 from Comets and, although I am aware that others seem to have given this stereo system bad reviews, we have found ours to be really excellent. Maybe it's something to do with acoustics but we find the tone very rich, particularly on its equalizer settings - I purchased a couple of phono leads and connected to our nicam Sony VCR and/or DVD player. Another thing that must be said, is that we have not "hammered" the system to maybe that's why is has given such long service. Although the original price was near to £400, I have since seen the same unit going on Ebay from around £50. The prices have come right down on these units now. Cyber stunner

...Sporting a 3.3Mpixel ccd and a carl zeiss lens the Sony DSC-S70 represents a big step forward in digital image capture. I bought this camera as a replacement for my old 1.5Mpixel unit and I haven't been dissapointed. This images captured are crisp, clear and of high enough resolution to be used in printed literature. The lcd preview screen is the brightest/sharpest I have seen, although, like many others it is difficult to see in bright sunshine. The optical view finder is a welcome addition, though there is a noticeable difference between what you see in the viewfinder and what you actuall get when you take a picture. Simply The Best

Advantages: Quality, Features, Ease of Use

...I bought the Sony DSC-S70 to replace an old one mega-pixel digital camera. It had received pretty good reviews in some of the magazines, and I was attracted by its overall quality and features. Its a 3.3megapixel camera with a top quality Carl Zeiss lens. We gave it a thorough work-out on holiday, and were extremely impressed with the depth and definition of the images. I agree with other users that the 8Mb Memory Stick is a bit limiting - whilst you can get over 100 lower resolution (640x480) pictures on the disk, if you want the better quality images, it will only take 13 (high resolution) or 5 (very high). However, you can buy an addition 64Mb card for around £100 - the investment would be worth it if you wanted to take a very large number of pictures without carting a PC around with you.
