...INTRODUCTION I have never been a big fan of Sony Ericsson phones ever since I had a T68i and hated everything about it - it was too small, the joystick kept dialling people, the colours were poor, etc, etc However, when I saw the S700i, I just had to take a closer look. ...Looking at the S700i you would see a rather large swivel phone, or at least that is what I saw. The S700i's dimensions are 107.5 x 49 x 24.5 mm (taken from the sony ericsson website). Which is rather large compared to similar phones. However, the design concept that Sonyericsson had in mind whilst developing this phone was to combine the features of a digital camera and mobile phone. The large size does give the phone the feel of a digital camera when it is held on its side. CAMERA: The camera on the S700i is 1.3MP and offers high quality images and video recording. S700i: Digital camera and Mobile Phone all in one!

Advantages: All the best features a mobile phone SHOULD have!
Disadvantages: Quite big, compared to other mobiles.

The sleek and stylsih swivel desing which has only ever been used in a few other phones is back and better in the Sony-Ericsson S700i. Disadvantages: there are however a few minor disadvantages which do let the phone down slightly; for example the sheer size is a bit off-putting to people. Especially as now all mobiles seem to be heading down the same route: smaller, smaller smaller. OVERALL: however i think that on balance the phone IS stylish and IS cool, and I suppose if you want the features the size is the LIMITING FACTOR. This is what digital cameras are about !

Advantages: Compact, clear, easy to use, excellent output
Disadvantages: Not enough opportunities to use a camera of this quality

...I bought the S700 from Argos in December. It was included in the sales at £69.99. That is an excellent price for the best digital camera I have used. I never liked Samsung as a brand, but after using this, I would buy from Samsung again. The screen is very clear, and large,as it is a 2.5 inch TFT active matrixLCD. and the menu system is very intuative. Everything is point and click for beginners with some well though out camera modes, and it is nitty-gritty for more experienced photographers. There is a macro mode that works from 2cm away from the subject. The optical zoom has a slider on screen with a line where optical switches to digital zoom. I always stay with optical zoom, as I do not want noise introduced by the digital zoom. Manufacturers: Leave digital zoom out of it please. There is 6 ISO ratings and the f...

My s700i I cant live without it!!!

Advantages: It has everything you need in it and very snazzy
Disadvantages: A bit bulky

...but a phone and a digital camera. It is true because from one side it does look like a phone and from the other a camera ? it is a 1.3 megapixel camera which is a really good resolution. Although it is quite big its not a huge 1980?s type phone!! It fits in a jacket pocket perfectly and in my handbag (although the men reading this wont appreciate that!) the only thing I haven?t tried it in yet are my jean pockets ? I think I?ll leave that for when I?m feeling brave. The sound quality on it is excellent when talking to someone it is nice and clear and not difficult to hear/speak to someone with because of the swivel part. I was really impressed by that as I thought it was so laden with features maybe this would have been overlooked.   SONY RULE THE (AIR) WAVES THROW YOUR CAMERAS AWAY!

Advantages: So many, beats any other phone on the current market!
Disadvantages: Not a chance!

...I first saw this phone back in December time and loved the look of it, yes, granted it is bigger than most phones these day?s, however, this has a few more little gems on it than most. I am on O2 online, when I first inquired about it, I was quoted £349.00 to upgrade, (£79.99 for a new account), so in so many words I told them to jump, and decided to cancel my contract and look elsewhere. Only a week later, O2 rang me and offered the phone to me for free as my monthly bill has always been quite high. I took them up on the offer and upgraded with the new 12 month contract, and the all important same number. The S700i has recently gone down in price to £39.99 in most places, however, it still remains in the shops, (again most, not all) £79.99 for an upgrade, so do some haggling! O2 online however, does offer a lot more than most...

Colour me butterfly

Advantages: Wonderful phone, very smart, lots of features, amazing screen

...I just got this phone yesterday, and it is wonderful. My greatest praise goes to it's screen - the colours are so bright and fantastic quality, and it comes with the most beautiful images. My wallpaper is currently a digital butterfly in turquose colours that glows - simply beautiful. My next piece of praise simply HAS to go to the buttons. Sounds odd, I know, but the number buttons on this phone are simply outstanding. They were my number one concern when I ordered the phone, because in pictures of the S700i that I had seen they resembled those of the first ever mobile phones - small, hard, oval and black. However, when it arrived yesterday all these fears were simply washed away. The buttons are soft-touch, so texting does not cause sore fingers and if you look at them carefully you will see that they are actually shimmery...
