Paris on a budget - the basilica of sacre coeur
Advantages: beautiful, seren, and what a view!
Disadvantages: string men
...Paris on a budget - The basilica of sacre coeur.
On our recent holiday to Paris, we set out to take in the capital, but without spending a fortune. We were on a strict budget and tried to take in as much of the culture of one of Europes most beautiful cities. Our Little hotel was in the montmatre region of the capital. Montmartre literally means hill of martyrs and therefore was the only real choice for one of the most striking religous buildings in the world. The Basilica of Sacre Coeur is Montmartre's leading tourist attraction, and it's probably the most-visited church in Paris after the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Unfortunately, the steps leading up to the basilica are also a prime target for the scam artists known as "string men," who prey on tourists and those who are not aware of such goings on.
Here's how the scam works...

The Sacred Heart
Advantages: Interesting, views.
Disadvantages: Stairs, stairs and more stairs.
...The Sacre-Couer or Sacred Heart is a huge Catholic church in the North of the city centre. It was started in 1873 as the Catholic church sought to atone for what they perceived as the crimes of the Commune, what better way to atone than by constructing a gigantic white-domed basilica? It has been designed in a Neo-Byzantine style by the architect responsible, Paul Abadie, and apparently was described as an 'abberration of taste' by a group of artists and intellectuals.
Entry is free provided you don't take pictures, you remain silent and you dress decently (this means covering shoulders for the ladies). To get to the entry however, you will need to climb 237 steps. It is worth pausing to enjoy the view before going into the building, almost as high as the Eiffel Tower you get incredible views right across the city. There are also...

What a place to start the day
Advantages: It is magnificent
Disadvantages: Why cant they put in a lift
...I am sorry to say that the next few ops of mine will have a distinctly Parisian feel to them as I wish to express the joy and wonder I found in visiting Paris in July. I am sorry it has taken so long for me to add another opinion but I have had some problems in getting to a keyboard recently and hope you all forgive me. But now onto the opinion, which is all you guys are really here for :)
It 9am on the 16th July and a glorious summers day. Coming out of our hotel in Montmartre littlemissy and I (actually littlemissy;)) decide that our first real port of call in Paris should be the Sacre-Coeur Cathdral which is in Montmartre itself. The cathedral which is actually only a recent addition to the Parisian skyline (it was finished in 1919) is the second highest point in Paris, if you go to the top that is. It is also one of the most...

An album most Sacred
Advantages: Sting at his sultry best
Disadvantages: None
...sings, but he is a very proficient musician, and is able to play, the mandolin, guitar, piano, bass guitar, saxophone, flute and oboe, and that is not all.
Putting the differences with the other Police members behind them, Sting invited Andy Summers to guest star on his 1987 album release ?Nothing Like the sun? and both members have joined Sting on stage at various times through his solo career.
October 2003 saw the release of Sting?s latest album ?Sacred Love?, which can be purchased from CD Wow for £8.99, or from play.com for £7.99.
The opening track ?Inside? begins with an echoing noise, and sounds slightly Oriental, before the introduction of an acoustic guitar, and Sting?s vocals. A slow song, which has the riff from ?All the Young Dudes? sandwiched into the middle, explores Sting?s ideals of what goes on within the human...

I have a Soft Coeur
Advantages: The smell and great moisturisation
Disadvantages: the chocolate bits
...Well it was Thursday night, I'd had a naff week and a 2 hour evening appointment with a customer so what else was a girl to do but try and get someone to rub her shoulders for her. Alas my husband was in the pub and I couldn't wait for him to come home so I had a nice long soak and raided my lovely box of Lush goodies that I had received for Christmas as I knew it contained a massage bar or two. I knew I couldn't give myself a massage in the traditional sense but it would make rubbing my shoulders easier.
Of the two that were in my goodie box the one that attracted my attention was Soft Coeur - a lovely cream coloured heart shaped bar with what I first thought were rosebuds in (I know of Lush's penchant for putting dried flowers in their products are spending many hours scooping them out of the bath plug hole or worse still walking...

The Sacred Heart Church, Tibidabo, Barcelona
Advantages: Beautiful church, great views of Barcelona below.
Disadvantages: None
...On a recent trip to Barcelona, I went on a city tour to take in some of the sights that we had missed on our last visit.
A place I was really looking forward to visiting was Tibidabo Mountain, which is the highest peak in Barcelona at over 500m above sea level.
Anyone who visits Barcelona will not fail to notice Tibidabo, and this is due to the imposing church of Sagrat Cor (Sacred Heart) which stands at the top of the mountain, and the impressive statue of Jesus Christ on the highest spire of the church.
On travelling in and out of Barcelona, seeing this church and statue on top of the mountain is a fantastic sight.
The church is the work of architect Enrique Sagnier, and building commenced in 1902 and took 60 years to build, so it is actually not that old!
The church is unusual in that it is built as a church on top of a church...

The Search For A Sacred Stone
Advantages: Some good characters, bad guys you'll love to hate
Disadvantages: A few inacuracies that could spoil your reading enjoyment
...books it may have stretched the book too far it seemed to work just right for the Sacred Stone.
Overall, while this wasn?t the most acurate ofbooks I've read it still kept me entertained. If small, unimportant details will ruin your enjoyment of a book then I'd suggest this wasn't for you. If you can glaze them over and carry on reading without worrying about it then this book is definetly worth a try. In Cabrillo and his team, Cussler has created a group that may not have the overall appeal of his NUMA series, but certainly provides a wecome distraction from it.

Six Sacred Stones - Six wasted hours
Advantages: A good laugh - preposterous action and action hero
Disadvantages: The time invested
....
Of course, it couldn't be that easy could it? Its location is held within the fabled Six Sacred Stones, which have (doh!!) unfortunately disappeared into the mists of time. (And perhaps the bowels of the Earth????)
The search is on - from Stonehenge (and a fascinating, if not believable explanation of its real purpose), to the sweltering Egyptian deserts and the Three Gorges region of China, the hunt for the Six Sacred Stones will take you on an action-packed rollercoaster ride through history, incorporating all of the most up-to-date military hardware ever to be found just lying about waiting for Jack, and some of the fastest and most mind-blowing (and unbelievable) action you will ever begin to read......resulting in the most incredible squib of an ending....
The following poem I think sums up the book hero........
Then
'If you can...

Has Sacred fallen? Not at all
Advantages: Tons of character customisation and replayability
Disadvantages: Can bog down on even high end systems
...The original Sacred was an isometrically viewed hack n slash action rpg along the veins of Diablo 2. Whilst it was much slated for bugs, it was in fact an incredibly fun game, particularly online that held my interest for 4 years in total, a rare thing in a game these days. Sacred 2 is a prequel which attempts to be even more flexible and engaging than the original.
The Characters
Sacred 2 offers a choice of 6 characters for you to play, each with a differing playstyle. However whilst each character is loosely based around a particular way of playing, you can in fact customise them any way you wish, at least as far as combat goes.
Looks-wise, each class is set. There are 3 female, 3 male (if you can count a cyborg as male!) and they have base models that will always look the same. You can however make your character look...

Sacred 2 - Worth the price? Worth the Wait?
Advantages: Graphics
Disadvantages: Uninteresting story and characters. Controls "stick," display for items is awful.
...Sacred 2! I waited a long time for this game, and then I was disappointed by it, then I waited a long time for my 360 to get fixed, then I waited a long time to beat it. Yes I waited to beat it. Why did I wait? Because this game gets so boring after an hour, that you lose sight of how boring it really is in lieu of waiting for the next lengthy load screen or the notably stupid remarks your character makes.
I played the Dryad, who is a tree hugger with major problems with cities. But get this: she hates her home city as well! Either that's a bug, or I suppose there's no place for a character like this. It shouldn't have even been a playable character. And supposedly the Dryad is one of the hardest characters to play as (probably as far as patience with dense remarks). I beat the game with relative ease, it just took time. Time to get...
