knowsley safari park
Advantages: Lots to see and do
Disadvantages: none but the weather
...I recently visited the safari park after many years and I was quite impressed by what they had to offer.
**GETTING THERE***
At Junction 6 from the M62 onto the M57, then take Junction 2 and follow the Brown signs with a white elephant on them to the safari park gates.
Buses can be used but the road outside the park is quite dangerous and has to be negotiated to get to the park from the bus drop off point.
**PRICES**
Adults £12.00
Children/OAP £9.00
Pedestrians £7.00 (although why visit on foot I do not know as you are not allowed to walk around the actual animal enclosure)
Other rates..
Disabled (with one carer) £9.00
Student £9.00
Larger groups?
10 or more in a single vehicle
Adults £10.00
Children/OAP £8.00
(two adults free with 20 paying children)

Fantastic Day Out (Longleat Safari Park)
Advantages: A great day out, its well worth a vist, we all had a fantastic time
Disadvantages: Gets really busy and cost a lot for a large family
...Myself my partner and a few friends decided that we would have a day out to Longleat Safari Park on the Bank holiday Monday, I had been to Longleat before but when I was a child, it was a great day out back then and I was hoping it would be even better all these years later.
As it was a bank holiday that we where planning on going on we knew it would be busy so we set of at 8.30am to get there for when it opened which was 10am and I'm so glad we did that because as we predicted it got incredibly busy later on.
Longleat Safari Park has two parts to it, firstly you have the Safari Park itself and then you have the house and gardens which also has various rides and attractions around it.
The Safari Park:
The safari park was opened in1966 and it was the first place outside of Africa to open a drive through safari. The safari park consists...

Longleat - The English African Safari
Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: Limited disabled access to certain attractions
...Longleat Safari Park
If you are under the impression that Longleat Safari Park is for the enjoyment of children only, then let me start by saying that this is one huge misconception. Even those who have closed hearts and minds will be softened and astounded by the vast and immense grounds and gratifying atmosphere this park holds.
I had been to many zoo's and safari parks in the past, though when I began to watch 'Animal Park' on the television, a real life program following the staff, ground, Lord Bath and animals at Longleat, I knew that there was one other safari park I just had to visit, and the great aspect about it was that we were due to go on holiday soon after a few short miles away from the park. It was like the animals were pulling me in!
******Background of Longleat******
Although a lot of people do not care much...

West Midlands Safari Park
Advantages: Fun day out, Lots to see
Disadvantages: Not everythings included in the entrance price
...West Midlands Safari Park
A large safari park between Kidderminster and Bewdly. It's easy to get to from main motorways. It is also signed from most main roads which are easy to follow and take you straight to where you want to be.
You can choose to either drive around the safari park first or go into the main area which has a petting zoo, displays, shops and much more.
Once you get there, there is plentiful parking for both cars and coaches, it's free to park and disabled parking is available nearer to the entrance.
As you enter there is a row of shops in a covered area with a gift shop that you can visit either then or on your way out, there is a shop to purchase foods such as ice cream and fudge and various drinks, which can be enjoyed on your way around the attraction.
There are displays going on all day including sea...

A Wild Day Out - Knowsely Safari Park
Advantages: Good value, well kept animals
Disadvantages: Prices of added extras
...Knowsley Safari Park is probably the closest thing you're going to get to a genuine safari park in the UK. It's by no means an accurate representation of the natural habitats of the animals there (for a start it rains more here than in Africa!), but it makes for a fun and educational day out and is better presented than a traditional zoo.
*Where Is It?*
Knowsley is located just outside Liverpool and is easily accessible from the M62, you just need to follow the brown safari signs (which, incidentally, makes a fun game for restless children!). When you get there, follow the entry signs for cars and you'll arrive at a drive-thru ticket desk.
*How Much Is It?*
It's £12 for adults and £9 for children, or you can get a family ticket for two adults and two children for £37. Also, it is possible to buy park maps and guides which...

~ Woburn Safari Animal Park - Fantastic Day Out! ~
Advantages: Great Day Out With Loads To See & Do
Disadvantages: Pricey Food & Drinks
...Woburn Safari Park is located in a small village in Bedfordshire just off the M1. It's really well signposted and very easy to get too..
Woburn safari park has been there since the 1970's as is dedicated to the conservation of many endangered and rare animals.
Me and my husband took my sisters two boys, we had already taken them to most of the zoos in England and was looking for somewhere different to take them this time, i searched in Google and Woburn Safari Park came up which sounded like a great day out, it has a massive website with loads of useful information..
We live near Peterborough so it only took us approx 30 to 40 minuites to get there.
We paid £13.50 for our two tickets and approx £8 for the kids which i thought was a little on the expensive side at first but we had a good 5+ hours there and had such...

I grew up within a lion's roar distance of this safari park!
Advantages: There is loads to see and do
Disadvantages: The armband pricing policy is a mistake in my opinon
...When I was a child I lived within a mile of the safari park. In Summer when the windows were open I could hear the lions roar in my bedroom and once, memorably, the baboons escaped and some policemen ran through our garden chasing them keystone cops style! The same baboons paid our school playground a visit - we had to all be barricaded into a portacabin - and used to regularly pinch windscreen wipers of cars driving through the safari area. I have fond memories of a child of going to the park and on the rides - oh the thrill of a lion being right next to the window of your parents' ford cortina and weeing up the window to great hilarity from your siblings - happy days!
The park has changed somewhat over the years, notably there are no more baboons, but now that I have children of my own I still enjoy at least an annual visit...

I wanna safari ride
Advantages: Superb rides and safari to enjoy
Disadvantages: Wish the monkey enclosure was back
...The West Midlands Safari park opened in 1973.
The park has got a 4 mile safari and this contains over 600 animals from around 30 different species from Europe, Africa, Asia and others.
They have a theme park as well which is next to the safari park as well. They have a reptile and insect house as well which IS easy for people to view and a sea lion area.
Some of the animals in the safari are on the endangered list such as the jumping rat. This park contains 15 white lions which is the largest amount in the entire United Kingdom.
My Experience
--------------------
I have been to this safari park many times purely because my uncle works there and still does. The place is easy to find and well directed. As you drive up this road to get into the park you notice you seem to go for one long distance and not see anything at all...

Woburn Safari Park - Excellent experiance
Advantages: Great to see animals you may never see anywhere else.
Disadvantages: Food and drink prices.
...Taking up an offer recently from my parents to take me to Woburn this Sunday just gone proved to make for one of the best days out I've had for a long while.
Entry to the park was £17 per adult and i believe it was £12 per child I think a child was classed as 12 or under. I thought this was quite expensive at first however when compared to other zoos and the experiance you get here it's very fairly priced indeed. I also enquired about a year ticket which costs £55 and allows you to visit as many times as you like in that year. You also get your ticket fee for the day refunded if you buy it there and then.
Once in you can go round the safari as many times as you like.
We arrived at the park just before opening which is 10am and were let in promptly and didn't have to queue for very long. On the way in you will see Bison, Zebra...

West Midlands Safari Park - Fantastic day out!!
Advantages: A Fantastic day out for all the family
Disadvantages: Can make quite an expensive day
...I am lucky enough to live only a couple of miles away from the West Midlands Safari Park which is situated between Kidderminster and Bewdley (post code DY12 1LF for those with sat navs).
I never get bored with visiting the park. They have a wide range of animals which you drive around in your car to visit i.e Llamas, camels, elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes, wild dogs, hippos and the other usual suspects. After a drive round the animals you can stop off for a picnic or visit the cafe for a well earned tea break (i would recommend bringing your own food and having a picnic as to buy food here certainly isn't cheap.
The park is also home to an amusement arcade and fairground as well as the standard gift and sweet shop. Food is available to buy from the kiosk as you enter the park to feed the animals (though beware as a Llama once...
