...Sahara Hotel and Casino , located 2535 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 This Hotel is one of the oldest Hotels in town , must be at least 47 years old. Until abuot 5 years ago, it was pretty neglagted. The rooms and the service wasn't so great or in other words it was real bad. The walls had paint chips all over , it wasn't too clean either. 5 years ago new ownership took over, they invested few Million Dollars, to fix it and make it look real good. They added a NasCar Arcade with a Restairant, Roller coaster for the kids, night club who hosted some good entairteners. They fixed the show room and had some reaal great shows such as: Clint Carlini was of the best Elvis empesenator in the world. Debbie Ranoylds, Susanne Barr and more and more. Advantages: Flashback to the glory days of Vegas, low prices
Disadvantages: A bit shabby, minimalist housekeeping

...In August 2007, Himself and Yours Truly took our first trip to Las Vegas--our premier, if you will. We stayed at the Sahara because our daughter recommended it as an economy-minded base of operations and because she and our son-in-law had already booked a room for their own stay. Lodging at the Sahara would keep our budget intact and would allow us to spend more time with our daughter and son-in-law. I won't say that these considerations weren't correct for the time and place, but I will say that any return trip to Vegas that includes accommodation at the Sahara will require careful consideration. MGM Grand Hotel - Las Vegas

Advantages: 4/5 star, great price, good gambling and atmosphere
Disadvantages: The Lion enclosure

...My husband and I have just gotten back from a trip to Las Vegas and chose the MGM hotel to stay at so this forms my review. The MGM is located right on the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) right by Tropicana Avenue so fairly near one end of the strip. It is located close to the New York New York hotel and there is actually a walkway which joins the two hotels to give you easy access to both. The hotel in its present form was opened at the end of 1993. Most of the hotels in Las Vegas have a certain them that they like to promote through each of their casinos such at NY NY, Paris, The Venetian etc. The MGM in my opinion is not as heavily themed as the other hotels but follows along the lines of old Hollywood/California movies stars etc with the feature of the MGM lion and movie star photos in the bedrooms. Disadvantages: Located at the southern end of "The Strip" - so a bit of a walk to some attractions...

The MGM Grand, guarded by a 45-foot-tall bronze lion statue has 5,005 rooms and used to be the largest hotel in the world, a claim recently stolen by the Ambassador City Jomtien hotel in Thailand with 5,100 rooms. It's still the largest hotel in North America, although I think this will soon be stolen by George Clooney's Vegas hotel development... Fabulous exclusive hotel in Las Vegas!

Advantages: Tranquil and exclusive hotel
Disadvantages: Rooms overlooking the airport could be noisy

...This has got to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. We went here in July 2005, which was a reward trip paid for by my company. The Four Seasons Las Vegas is situated on the top four floors (35th to 39th) of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and is at the south end of the strip, just 3 miles from the airport. However, the Four Seasons has it's own secluded entrance separate to that of the Mandalay Bay: the drive sweeps in past the main entrance, and then doubles back on itself, thus creating a one-exit roundabout. The centrepice of this is a small garden which is beautifully maintained, and has a small fountain and seating area. The entrance is set under a large porch area, reminiscent of a great Southern house, and is always well staffed by bell boys willing to help with luggage or open car doors for you. A Taste of Egypt- Las Vegas Style.

Advantages: Unique Shape, Good Casino
Disadvantages: Cleanliness an issue, Understaffed.

We had wanted to stay at the Luxor for our honeymoon and it was sadly booked out, so we stayed at the Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood) and never made it up even to visit the Luxor, so when we found a deal on Lastminute.com, we were chuffed and booked it in January 2007. Cost: £1400, 5 nights, room only basis including Virgin Atlantic flights (economy) for 2 people. --------- My review of the Luxor will be split into the main areas of interest in the hotel that I experienced, I realise that this may not cover all areas of the hotel, sorry but with so much to see and do in Vegas it would have been a shame just to stay in the hotel! Las Vegas Opulence

Advantages: Luxurious rooms, dining, fountain show, service
Disadvantages: Check in and general bedm in reception.

...For me only the Bellagio would do once we had decided to visit Las Vegas as the second stop on our honeymoon just over two years ago. The hotel featured in the Oceans' 11 film which I loved and I was particularly looking forward to seeing that famous water fountain show. The hotel is located roughly half way along the main Strip area in Vegas, it has an Italian theme and is beautiful to look at from the outside. It is set back from the street and the front of the building gently curves around "Lake Como". Providing it is not too windy, from 3pm in the afternoon the fountain show runs every fifteen minutes making for excellent photo opportunities and selling lots of postcards. DIVAS LAS VEGAS BELINDA JONES I have always loved Belinda Jones books, and I have read near enough all of her books: I Love Capri, On The road to Mr Right, The Paradise Room, Out of the Blue, The Love Acadamy, Cafe Tropicana and now Divas Las Vega. The only book of hers I have left to read is The California Club (and the new book which she has coming out soon). I'm not quite sure where Divas Las Vegas comes in the line of her books, it could very possibly be one of, if not, her first book. I loved all of Jones' previous books, they have all been amazing, and have really captured my imagination, this book was very different and I must say, it isn't the best of her work. Plot: Izzy and Jamie have been best friends since they were little girls, for 20 years. And now at 27 they are still as close as ever...
