SAHARA!!

Advantages: some great,set-pieces, full of humour
Disadvantages: plot gets predictable,no extas!!!!

Amusing Escapade In Sahara

Advantages: engaging characters and story
Disadvantages: not much to complain about

...With a name like Cussler, you might imagine that his adventure novels would be filled with cussing, but I haven?t noticed anything more than an occasional ?damn.? I?ve read three of his novels now, having read and reviewed Night Probe and only read Raise The Titanic. Sahara is yet another in Cussler?s Dirk Pitt novels and an even more entertaining one than usual. In fact, Cussler has such a unrestrainably fun time writing this one that he makes himself a minor miner character who shows up to impart some vital information to our heroes! I adore such writers. Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. has also done this, but can you think of any other writer? Tick, tock, tick, tock?Time?s up! If you haven?t guessed, please email me for the answer. Now don?t get me wrong. Sahara Hotel and Casino of Las Vegas

Advantages: Located at the border line of the Strip and downtown

...Sahara Hotel and Casino , located 2535 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 This Hotel is one of the oldest Hotels in town , must be at least 47 years old. Until abuot 5 years ago, it was pretty neglagted. The rooms and the service wasn't so great or in other words it was real bad. The walls had paint chips all over , it wasn't too clean either. 5 years ago new ownership took over, they invested few Million Dollars, to fix it and make it look real good. They added a NasCar Arcade with a Restairant, Roller coaster for the kids, night club who hosted some good entairteners. They fixed the show room and had some reaal great shows such as: Clint Carlini was of the best Elvis empesenator in the world. Debbie Ranoylds, Susanne Barr and more and more. They added a Caffe open 24 hours with outstandig food and service. It seems that...

"Hi! How are ya?"

Advantages: Swash and buckling. What more do you need? Action? Adventure? Humour? It's all here.
Disadvantages: Nothing serious enough to spoil the fun.

After dropping Eva and her colleague off to travel overland, Dirk, his friend Al (Steve Zahn) and colleague Rudi head further up the river to investigate a clue Dirk has found. When Dirk's boat is shot up by the Mali military looking for Eva, Dirk abandons his plans of hunting for the "Texas" and goes looking for the doctor before it's too late? "Sahara" is almost like a modern day Indiana Jones and while not as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark, could arguably give any of the others a run for their money. The action starts early and never really lets up until the very end. Matthew McConaughey's Dirk Pitt is likable enough, though able to deal with most circumstances as you might expect of a leading character. As an acting role, it might not tax him too much, but you get the impression he had a lot of fun in...

Their Turbans May Not Be Wrapped Too Tight

Advantages: Excellent cast, entertaining ideas, and very humorous with enough action to keep things flowing
Disadvantages: A little uneven in the pacing, some standard genre errors, and the ending lacks luster

...of unimaginable proportions. As if searching for the source of this terrible disease wasn't motivation enough, Dirk firmly believes this is his best opportunity to find his personal 'holy grail'. He stands alone in believing that, somehow, a US Confederate ironclad ship made it across the ocean to end up stranded somewhere in the Sahara with the "last" of a rare series of Confederate golden dollars that never quite surfaced during or after the Civil War. Advantages: Good action romp
Disadvantages: Lack of chemistry between main male and female leads
