Sainsburys are good and are getting even better

Advantages: Fabulous range of goods and products that are well priced and exceptional quality.
Disadvantages: I need a store closer to where I live!

...I shop at Tescos. I generally only shop at Tescos because it is my nearest supermarket but, if I am going anywhere that takes me near a Sainsburys.... in I go! I used to think Sainsburys was very expensive - always good quality goods - but expensive. However, I firmly believe they are now providing good quality at a good price, particularly their 'basic' range. I've not tried all of them but the ones that I have, I am delighted with e.g. particularly the cleaners and the butter. The one major benefit is that everything you buy, you use. Nothing is thrown away as the vegetables and salads are good quality. In addition, they also have a fantastic range of good value, exciting clothes for women and I have bought some products (e.g. cropped trousers) that wash and wear particularly well. I just need them to open a store...

Sainsburys are improving

Advantages: Good quality supermarket
Disadvantages: None

...I must admit that I am normally a Tesco man, but decided to check out our local Sainsburys for a change. Planning is everything in a supermarket mission and I carefully complied a list of necessary items and ventured forth. My first reaction was that parking was straightforward and that this particular branch did not appear to be nearly as busy as our local Tescos. I had arrived at about 1.30pm. On entering the store it can be a little disorientating to find your bearings and locate what you are looking for. The layout was well organised and it was relatively easy to find what I was looking for. The shopping ailes were wide and everything was well presented, fresh and appealing. There were a number of different pricing options for any given product, economy brand, own brand and premium brand. There were plenty of fresh vegetables...

Sainsburys

Advantages: prompt delivery
Disadvantages: Website is slow, substitutions are not specified accurately on the receipt check list

...The site loads quickly and is regularly updated. Sainsbury?s website uses the traditional white background and orange colours. The site appears bright, clear and inviting. Before you decide to register with the website, you should check whether Sainsbury?s online will deliver to your area by entering your postcode. If they do, then you can proceed to shop. Unlike many other websites, the information required isn't intrusive. You do need to supply a phone number which is useful if deliveries are delayed, or the driver is having difficulty in finding your house. On the occasions that I have ordered my food drivers have called for directions, whilst letting me know that they are delivering early!! When you have completed the registration process, a message will state that you can start home shopping with the standard delivery charge...

Sainsbury?s Are Good To Me

Advantages: Plenty of Chicken. Tasty Roast Potatoes. Great Sauce.
Disadvantages: None for me

...As I am trying to keep on a healthy eating option, I recently bought Sainsbury?s Be Good To Yourself ? Tomato and Basil Chicken with Roasted Baby Potatoes. I found this meal for one person in the chilled section of my local Sainsbury?s store. It weighs 450 grams and costs £2.99 GBP (normal price), but at the time of writing this review, Sainsbury?s are selling two of this type of meal with £1.00 GBP off two. **Packaging** As with some of the other meals I have written about, Sainsbury?s Be Good To Yourself ? Tomato and Basil Chicken with Roasted Baby Potatoes comes in a plastic tray covered with a clear plastic film. All this comes in an outer cardboard sleeve. I find the way the meal is presented is ideal, as I looked inside the inner tray by sliding it from the outer sleeve, enabling me to look at the food before buying...

TU at sainsburys

Advantages: nice clothes in a variety of sizes.
Disadvantages: None.

...I don't normally tend to shop in Sainsbury's which you'll know if you've read my reviews because almost everything I review I seem to get from ASDA, but that's only because it's very local and has low prices. I pop into Sainsbury's when I'm local and I do realy like their clothing range. The womens sections sports lots of different styles and has clothes for plus sized ladies or petites. The clothes are modern and fashionable and You can buy everything really from tights, socks, knickers and bras to t shirts, jeans, skirts and footwear. Tu also sell a different accessories like hair clips and cheaper jewelery which I think is nice to wear at work when you don't want to wear your best. All of the items are affordable and I think everything is worth it's cost there to be honest. The mens section has trousers, jackets etc, but being single...

Sainsbury's Online - Highly Recommended

Advantages: Very easy to order, good customer service
Disadvantages: None really

....co.uk quite easily to see for yourself. Usually half way down the page on the home page is the "Latest from Sainsbury's" with special offers which might be of interest. Below the offers section you have things like "online community" where you can share recipes and ideas with guess who? Yes, their online community! There's also a recipe and tip finder and store locator as well as a link to their spiel about their corporate responsibility as a responsible retailer. Personally I'm not very good at following other people's recipes but there are some interesting recipes available which some shoppers will find really valuable. DELIVERY Sainsbury's charges £4.95 for standard delivery between Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00 but they don't deliver on public holidays. They do a next day delivery on a few products which costs £6...

SAINSBURY'S FOR SALE

Advantages: wide range of stock
Disadvantages: prices are higher

...and although the prices seem steeper than other stores they have some offer worth picking up. Sainsbury?s logo is distinctively orange and anyone visiting their stores will note the staff are in blue tops, black bottoms and maybe an orange fleece. But why do I rate Sainsbury?s stores as highly as I do? Firstly, as stated the choice in my home town is very limited. Secondly and most importantly Sainsbury?s offer a wide choice of items. So when you are looking for something to put in your recipe, the first port of call is Sainsbury?s, it?s almost guaranteed they?ll have your item in some shape or form. The layout of the stores is as most supermarkets, with fresh produce at the start, and bread at the end. The store is light and airy and clean, the staff are friendly. Their fresh fruit and produce is second to none that I have ever bought...

Sainsbury's - my favourite supermarket

Advantages: Good offers, good quality
Disadvantages: None

...Out of all the supermarket 'Big Boys' - Sainsbury's is my favourite! There are a number of reasons for this. One reason is that Sainsbury's is very close to the town shopping centre where I live. I can park on Sainsbury's, do my shopping in town and then get my groceries. I really like the layout of the Sainsbury's store. I can find everything easily. It is not too big, nor too small. The decor and the lighting are attractive (I find Tesco's floor pattern not very appealing!). Overall I find it a very pleasurable shopping experience. I also feel that the quality of the fruit and vegetables, meat and bakery products in Sainsbury's are first class. There is a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, including organic and Fairtrade items. There are always a good range of offers in store, particularly in the meat section...

DOES GOOD FOOD REALLY COST LESS IN SAINSBURY'S?

Advantages: Good Quality Produce. Fewer Check Out Queues. Good Electrical Bargains. The Best Trolleys
Disadvantages: Limited Clothes Range. Some Items Still Expensive.

...WHO ARE THEY? Sainsbury's are the UK's third largest, following Tesco and ASDA, supermarket chain. They have a long and illustrious history in this market, starting much like their competitors from very humble beginnings. Sainsbury's was founded in 1869 by John James and Mary Ann Sainsbury, who opened a dairy shop at 173 Drury Lane in London. At that time it was one of the poorest areas of the capital which had a population, then, of around 3.5 million. The partnership was successful and their shop gained a reputation for selling top quality produce at good prices. By 1882 there were four London branches - they then opened a much more up-market store in posh, more rural Croydon, this too proved a quick success. By the turn of the twentieth century they had 48 shops, employing 950 staff. Remarkably in appearance, they...

A basic wholemeal bread from Sainsburys

Advantages: Reasonable in price, nice tasting bread
Disadvantages: The soft crust and thinnish slices may not appeal to some.

...brands of wholemeal. Ingredients and Warnings I won't bore readers with a long list of ingredients contained in this loaf. Of course wholemeal wheat flour is the major ingredient. Sainsbury's advise that the bread contains gluten and soya, so those sensitive to these should exercise caution. The nutritional values are listed in full on the wrapper and again I won't fill up the review with these. It is worth mentioning however that each slice of this bread contains 78 calories, so it is fairly good for those consumers who wish to eat bread whilst watching their waistlines! Cost and Availability Available from Sainsbury's supermarkets or online at www.sainsburys.co.uk The price of this bread is a very reasonable 50p for the 800g loaf. When compared to branded breads, this Basics bread represents a huge saving to me. My particular...
