Review of Swallow Saint George Hotel, Harrogate

St George The Patron Saint of Sainsburys

Advantages: It's by possibly the best overall brewery around, it's relatively cheap
Disadvantages: It's a mix of better Youngs beers, and the sum of the parts don;t make the whole, it's also exclusive to Sainsbury's, which means a 14 mile drive for me!

...St George ? patron saint of England. Symbol of English spirit, bravery in the face of adversity, stiff upper lip. What better personification of this great land to choose for a thoroughly English ale? And so we have Young?s St George?s. Never heard of it? No, well neither have I! Having seen this ale mentioned in the hallowed lists of ciao, I felt pangs of guilt that I hadn?t even heard of this ale. Even worse was that it was brewed by the fair hands of Young?s, whose Double Chocolate Stout, London Ale, Waggle Dance and Old Nick all feature regularly in my beer cupboard restocking (yes, I do have a cupboard just for beer!) The shame of it. Would people point and whisper behind my back if they knew I hadn?t heard of this ale? Would ciao members in their hundreds turn their backs on my ops, even those loyal few who know of my addictions...

worst hotel complex in malta,St Georges Hotel

...Our last minute "allocated on arrival" holiday was cheap. The courier told us that the St Georges Park Hotel was in a lively part of town, with easy access to the whole of the island. The entrance to the hotel was impressive but not grand, and the tired 1960s foyer suggested to us what the rest of the hotel was like. We slowly, as the lift only had two speeds (extremely slow and stop), rose to the eighth floor and trundled our luggage along the dark and dismal corridor to our apartment. I use the term advisedly because the room was fairly grim. Its cold tiled floor housed two single beds that would not have been out of place in a local homeless centre's dormitory. ...?George?s Marvellous Medicine? was the first of Roald Dahl?s stories which we read to our eldest son. It?s the story of a little boy who has a real stinker of a grandmother. She?s rude and scary and bosses him around all the time. One day George?s mum and dad have both gone out, leaving him alone with his Grandma. George has had enough of Grandma bullying him and so decides to cure her of her cantankerous behaviour with a special potion, which he?ll give her instead of her usual medicine. He finds an enormous saucepan in the kitchen and lugs it all around the house, essentially putting in a bit of everything he finds [lipsticks and canary seed included!]. It is quite big when you have to bring it home or you have to find place for it, but is perfect size when you grill on it. First impressions I saw it on Internet on www.argos.co.uk site, it was on offer for 44.99 pounds. I reserved it and went to pick it up. It was in a huge box. When I arrived home with it I opened and found that the grill is really big. I had to put some household appliances away to have enough place for it. ...Saints Row 2 is a great game but I feel the game was messed up by the end of the first game, basically at the end you get blown up on a ship, then the developers decided they would make a second game but wait, your characters dead, I know lets say he miraculously survived and is recovering in prison, yeah and while we're at it lets modify all the other characters to make it look like some times passed by, no not all that great. I must say though this is evened out by the fact that new gangs have taken over whilst you were in prison and the cities a wreck, yep typical gangster games!
