...Very comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms with exposed stone walls and tapestries. Great price out of high season and a wonderful position. There is a cafe/bar just across the street for breakfast. (I would never take breakfast in a Paris hotel, they are often over-priced and questionable quality.) Easy walking distance to the bars and restaurants of the Left Bank, also Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, Jardin du Luxembourg and the Marais. Maubert Mutualité Metro station only 50 metres away for easy access to all other Paris attractions, although the road up to the hotel is quite steep if you are carrying heavy luggage. For local interest, there is a lively street market in Place Maubert and the local shops are a delight of colours and tastes. Small, but perfectly formed boutique hotel

...Just back from 4 great nights in Paris at La Villa hotel. The location is fantastic - only a short walk away from loads of exciting restaurants and cafe-bars in the happening Latin Quarter. Try out Le Pres Aux Clercs next door (Hemingway's old haunt apparently, he used to live close by) - the food is fairly expensive but very good and the massive tree in the middle of the dining room is amazing! The hotel itself is on a quiet street in the heart of St Germain, plus all the rooms have shutters, which help to keep the noise to a minimum at night. The reception staff at La Villa are generally very helpful and the rooms are clean and well-decorated/furnished. Each room is equipped with a minibar, complimentary toiletries,robes and hairdryer. My only complaint is that the baths are very small (I could not lie down in ours, and I am only 5...

It will last for a very long time A friend of mine introduced Paris Perfume to me many years ago, and i have used it ever since for special occassions My daughter uses it as well, we both like all the Y'ves St Laurent Perfumes but Paris is my favourite. I have often been out somewhere and i will be asked what perfume i have on and i proudly say Paris by Y'ves Saint Laurent, or someone will say to me oh you smell nice which is really good to hear. I have bought it for friends and family for either a birthday present or at xmas and when it's my birthday my family always buy me a bottle, which i am gratefull, and the best thing is, the bottle does last for a very long time. I can honestly say this perfume is gorgous....

I wouldn't want a "Holiday Inn" this hotel

...This hotel has been listed on Ciao for more than two years without anyone writing about it and I'm not actually all that surprised. Writing a review of a really good hotel is easy and writing one about an awful hotel is fun. But how about hotels that are just a bit blurgh - not great, not awful? Is it actually possible to write an interesting review of an uninteresting hotel? I'm still not sure about that. If you find it a bit dull, please go and read one of my other hotel reviews - they'll probably be more interesting but Ciao needs the good and the bad as well as the mediocre. Sitting in my room at the Holiday Inn in Paris St Germain de Pres I couldn't help but reflect that the designers drew heavily from that area of the colour palette best characterised by the term 'nicotine'.
