Salomon ST80 limited edition
Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance.
Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).
...come fully equipped with Salomon ABEC 5 bearings and Medium Matt Andrews wheels (57mm 90A) so you can skate them straight away without having to replace anything. The bearings are reasonably fast and smooth as are the wheels, neither of which were especially great but did the job nicely.
As soon as you get your feet inside these you will appreciate all the work Salomon have put into their liners. These and the other Salomon skates I have used have always exceeded all possible expectations when it comes to comfort and have never caused any problems with sore feet, blisters, etc.
Grinding in these skates at first is a joy. The new wider soul space and harder frame make grinds easier and faster, but, after a number of falls the soul space does begin the wear away (this is easily fixed by replacing the soul plates available from http...

these shoes are made for walking
Advantages: long lasting, ideal changing weather
Disadvantages: you get so used to wearing them you don't like going out in your heels!
...These are the third pair of Salomon shoes I?ve owned and I don?t think I will ever buy a different brand of walking shoe again. I live in a hilly area and don?t have a car and therefore do a lot of walking, not only are they incredibly comfortable but they keep my feet dry in the wettest of weather but at the same time circulate air and therefore I?ve never had the ?smelly trainer? problem. Basically they are warm and dry in winter and cool in the summer.
As well as the everyday use mentioned above I?ve also wear them for more challenging walking, for example coastal path walks.
My last pair lasted over three years with consistent use but not until the very end did they show any sign of their age.
I also, and I know this is a very personal preference, find them much more attractive than a normal trainer....

ride like aaron...
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: wheels a tad shonky
...okay the Salomon Feinberg pro-model.
Well i guess if your reading this then you know who the hell aaron feinberg is huh? well like him or not, hes got a pro-skate.
If you are at all familiar with the previous model of salomon agressive skates then you will know that not much has changed appearance-wise with these new beauties. Keeping with the individual boot mould, they have chosen to beef up the specifications of the skate instead. So here is whats new on these new blades.
THE UFS SYSTEM FRAME. now the soul plate is a seperate piece that attatches onto the frame. This is a move by salomon to forge the way forward with frane standardisation, making the frane marjet more competitive, resulting in more compatibility therefore better prices for consumers.
On the grind the soul was impressively fast, having had a pair of K2 250's on my...

great piece of equipment
Advantages: passes the time
Disadvantages: expensive, dont use it much anymore
...made 5 hours seem like nothing.
The battery life on its pretty good too, it'll last around 5 hours for video and 30 hours for music which is great. However I also bought off eBay, a battery charger which runs of 4 AA batteries and plugs into the mp4 player to charge it, this Is really useful and I have used it so many times.
All in all this is a great piece of equipment, although I must say I don't use it much anymore, as I haven't been on any journeys on a train or plane recently. Also I now have a laptop, so if I go anywhere id probably take this instead, so now I am really undecided to whether or not to sell it and try get some money back.
But all together, if you did buy on of these you will probably get your use out of it, because I have....

The original freeride skis
Advantages: Ease of turning, handling, style, following.
Disadvantages: None I can think of.
...I go to Sandown ski club ever week, and I always try to get the Salomon X-Screams. They are incredibly easy to turn, have a nice carving action, and are probably one of the best skis around. They have a huge free-ride following, and are used by beginners and experts alike. They are the skis by which all others are judged. The newer X-screams have the Prolink arms 'to guarantee ski/snow contact'. Wether it actually works is another matter... but it sounds and looks cool!
So basically, these skis will suit anyone, especially those who are looking to improve their turning and confidence, and want to learn how to carve easily.
Excellent skis!...

Hardwearing UFS skate
Advantages: UFS, long lasting, cheap.
Disadvantages: ?
...The Salomon st10 is one of the new range of UFS (Universal Frame System) skates released by Salomon just before Christmas 2001. The st10 is the budget skate which they say as aimed at beginner to intermediate skaters and they cost £140.
Looking at the skate there don't seem to be many differences between these and the previously released Feinburgs other than the colours and the wheel set-up. The skates come with a nice looking blue cuff and liner, white soul plates and black salomon UFS frames. The salomon liner is one of the most comfortable and long lasting liners around. The liner features coolfit so once you've worn them a few times the mold to the shape of your feet making them much more comfortable.
The wheel set-up features a nice fast rolling set-up of salomons own ST 56mm/88a wheels with a nice set of ABEC 3 bearings...

The Greatest Skis in the World
Advantages: Fun, fun, fun
Disadvantages: None
...I will never ski on any other ski than these. I love them to pieces.
In the 1999/2000 season, Salomon intrigued the ski market by introducing the first twin-tip ski for the consumer. A twin-tip ski is one that is raised at both the tip and the tail, allowing the skier to ski backwards as well as forwards. These skis heralded a revolution in the ski industry, which other ski manufacturers have joined.
Despite the influx of twin-tip skis in the 2000/2001 season, the Salomon 1080s are seen by many people as being the only ski of choice.
As an amateur freeride skier, I can't get enough of them. The 1080 has given me a new lease of life over the whole mountain. When jumping, I now have the option of landing or taking off backwards, without fear of having the tails of my skis jam into the snow and me ending up in a heap...

HTFR for equipment
Advantages: Large catalog also for equipment, low price
Disadvantages: Customers can't see if items are in stock
...I ordered a piece of equipment from HTFR, and it turned out to not be in stock. They had to order with their supplier which - luckily - did not take too much time. Still, I think they should show it on their web shop when an item is out of stock. I prefer to order only items that are in stock so I can get it fast.
HTFR customer support could be improved. Sometimes it takes a day or two days before you get an answer to your enquiry.
For both records or equipment you may also check Chemical Records or Juno. With HTFR included, all of these offer equipment at a sharp price. I never ordered records (or other media) from HTFR so I wouldn't be able to comment on that....

Half professional equipment
Advantages: Many useful functions
Disadvantages: Rubber covers to facilitate holding the camera just unstacked from the body.
...I bought this camera 3 years ago and since this time I have taken thousands of pictures. The camera is a half professional equipment which means it could be used in both professional and unprofessional fields. Personally I like this camera very much. It has many useful functions (extended white balance function, bracketing, image overlay, interval timer shooting, etc). It has good shutter speed up to 1/8000 sec and wide range of ISO 100-1600 (up to ISO 3200 with boost). It has 2 different file formats: RAW which gives you uncompressed pictures and popular JPEG (3 levels). 10.2 million effective pixels gives you image size up to 3872-2592. I like its big (2.5") and with high resolution (230.000 pixels) LCD monitor. You can see your pictures in really good quality. Its body made from magnesium alloy is well designed. You can very easily...

It's A Laptop, Not Juggling Equipment!
Advantages: No Queues at the service desk because everyone else knows to avoid them
Disadvantages: Completely destroyed my son's laptop.
...stopped working from the time it went through the series of pirouettes, pikes and somersaults he subjected it to. I got my £29.99 back, but my son now has a non-functioning PC which had no faults prior to our visit to PC World. I took the laptop to PC World for a service, but instead they gave it the last rites.
I'll be sending off a strong letter of complaint to PC World, but I'm already pretty convinced that nothing will come of it. I just wish I'd bought an extra pound of apples while I was in town and donated them to the youth on the service reception desk. They make far better juggling equipment than laptops....
