The original freeride skis

Advantages: Ease of turning, handling, style, following.
Disadvantages: None I can think of.

...I go to Sandown ski club ever week, and I always try to get the Salomon X-Screams. They are incredibly easy to turn, have a nice carving action, and are probably one of the best skis around. They have a huge free-ride following, and are used by beginners and experts alike. They are the skis by which all others are judged. The newer X-screams have the Prolink arms 'to guarantee ski/snow contact'. Wether it actually works is another matter... but it sounds and looks cool! So basically, these skis will suit anyone, especially those who are looking to improve their turning and confidence, and want to learn how to carve easily. Excellent skis!...

Screaming fun

Advantages: In-jokes
Disadvantages: Weaker than previous Scream films

...Scream 3 is the third outing for the popular Scream films, directed by Wes Craven, in 2000. This film follows on from the previous film and sees Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) living in a deserted mountainside cabin. She is trying to get away from the trauma of the murders at Windsor College and is now working as a counsellor for women in distress. However when she hears about the murders on the film set of Stab 3 and that a picture of her dead mother was left at the scene, Sidney realises that another killer is on the loose. LAPD detective, Mark Kincaid (Patrick Dempsey), investigates, as more secrets emerge from Sidney?s past. Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), become involved due to their involvement with Stab 3 and the original Woodsboro murders. The three of them must try to survive another killer out...

Scream for your Mummy

Advantages: gets kids reading, enjoyable
Disadvantages: the website's aimed at kids, but it's good for 'older' readers too ;-)

...Heart of the Mummy is the third book in the Scream Street series of books for children, aged around 8-11. The series is written by Tommy Donbavand. There are 7 books in the series, all published by Walker: -Fang of the Vampire (2008) -Blood of the Witch (2008) -Heart of the Mummy (2008) -Flesh of the Zombie (2008) -Skull of the Skeleton (2009) -Claw of the Werewolf (2009) -Invasion of the Normals (2009) The children at school love the website (www.screamstreet.co.uk). It has short stories, news updates and so on. It's aimed at children and is very well managed, a nice safe site which is a relief for some parents. ** Why did I read the book?** I wouldn't usually read books for children of this age group, but Tommy Donbavand came to the school I work in to do an afternoon's presentation, and then the following day I accompanied some...

Scream some more

Advantages: Enjoyable, well-written, gets kids reading
Disadvantages: The website's aimed at kids!

Beautiful Future - Primal Scream

Advantages: Great variety of musical styles and moods, quality songs
Disadvantages: Won't change the world

...In 2008, Primal Scream, who have now been going for a staggering 26 years, released Beautiful Future, their 9th studio album. They started out as part of the Scottish indie scene that gave us Jesus and Mary Chain, but left behind their jingle, jangle sound to take on a more rocky sound. They've been in and out of the charts over the years and have collaborated with various other artists (Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine, Barnie Sumner, Robert Plant, The Chemical Brothers to name but a few). There is no way a band can survive 26 years unless they keep moving, morphing, trying new things, whilst maintaining some thread of a story. Not only will most of the audience get bored with them, but they too risk getting stale and disinterested. I guess that Primal Scream have managed to do something different with each of their 9 albums...

Scream

Advantages: good horror
Disadvantages: none

...Scream 2 is just as good as Scream 1, it’s scary in parts and the story line is really good, making you guess until the very end, as to who the identity of the murderer is. When you find out it, it is a shock. So make sure if you know someone who has watched it don’t tell you who the murderer is. Some scenes are really good to watch and have you on the edge. It’s about the murders on the campus, where everyone is accused. No one is safe. No one knows who is the cold-blooded murder, all they know he needs to be stopped. A film you want to watch more than once. With excellent acting, it’s one you will like....

Salomon ST80 limited edition

Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance.
Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).

...Last year (2000) Salomon announced the release of two new skates, the ST90 and the ST80. For some reason Salomon decided to scrap production of the ST80 and released the ST70 (a cheaper model) instead. Last summer Salomon decided to sell off all of there sample models of the ST80 so now these samples are available. Since these are sample skates they were only ever made in one size (uk 8.5) so if this size is too large or too small for you then forget about buying these skates as riding wrongly sized skates can be detrimental to the health of your feet. Out of the box these skates look amazing. The cool blue-grey colour used for the boot is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing of on any of the recent Salomon skates. This is highlighted by the white frame which gives the skates a very clean, stylish appearance. These skates...

Advantages: Well written, imaginative
Disadvantages: None

A rather big Scream

Advantages: Very cheap, must have for horror buffs
Disadvantages: Very cheesy tits and blood slash em up.

...WARNING : Mammoth review Another day, another box set. I love horror movies and though I've seen them all before, I felt compelled to buy this one (mostly due to the fact it was rather cheap at £10 for the whole set) to add to my collection. Who needs a life when you have box sets!? I had been kind (and sneakily greedy at the same time) by splitting what was going to be a mammoth review of all three movies down into Three easy to chew chunks. Then I noticed that Ciao don't pay for the movies seperatley. But they do pay for a box set review. So I put it all back together. Blame Ciao. Here's a run down of this weekends festivities (minus the drunken and filthy bits in between). SCREAM 1 The Cast- Or so says the front of the box Neve Campbell- Campbell plays Sydney Prescott, the main character round...

It's a Scream Baby!

Advantages: A homeage to the original slasher films
Disadvantages: May lose its appeal with the possible release of Scream 4

...***Why did I watch the Scream Trilogy*** As a huge horror fan I was excited when the first scream film was released in 1996 because we had not really had very many good slasher films in recent years. I was also attracted as the horror master Wes Craven had directed the film. The trailer look amazing and it promised lots of blood and gore, so off I trotted to the cinema. Scream 2 was released in 1997 and the final Scream 3 in 2000. Again I had to be one of the first people in the cinema. I have since purchased each of the dvds separately then the trilogy boxset when it was released. ***Cast*** Neve Campbell as Sydney Prescott (Wild Things, Party of Five) David Arquette as Deputy 'Dewey' Riley (Eight Legged Freaks, Never Been Kissed) Courtney Cox-Arquette as Gale Weathers (Friends, Dirt) Jamie Kennedy as Randy Meeks (Dr. Dolittle 2...
