Wii Family Ski is a game that up to five people can play and requires the Wii Fit to be able to play. It took me a while to find the Wii Fit or as it is also known the balance board but I kept on searching and got there in the end. Wii Family Ski lets you create a character from scratch or you can import your Mii character too whilst selecting different ski gear for your character. You need to use the Nunchuck and Remote in your hands to use as ski poles and step on the Wii Board to really take advantage of this great game. The original freeride skis

Advantages: Ease of turning, handling, style, following.
Disadvantages: None I can think of.

...I go to Sandown ski club ever week, and I always try to get the Salomon X-Screams. They are incredibly easy to turn, have a nice carving action, and are probably one of the best skis around. They have a huge free-ride following, and are used by beginners and experts alike. They are the skis by which all others are judged. The newer X-screams have the Prolink arms 'to guarantee ski/snow contact'. Wether it actually works is another matter... but it sounds and looks cool! So basically, these skis will suit anyone, especially those who are looking to improve their turning and confidence, and want to learn how to carve easily. Excellent skis!...

The scary slopes of the Sheffield Ski Village!

...When it comes to sport I have always tried to avoid extreme sports, favouring instead things like athletics and running. I represented my county (Yorkshire) at both cross country running and athletics when I was still at school and since then I have completed one full marathon and three half marathons but as far as sport is concerned that is about it for me. I have always consciously avoided skiing, although I realise that this is quite tame in comparison with a lot of what is available these days. ...The silent majesty of the Canadian Rockies in winter is a completely unforgettable sight but the feeling of skiing down the tree lined runs is second to none. Now that Christmas is over it is time to dust off the Salopettes, dig out the passports, buy a new set of thermals and head off to the slopes. ...Everyone loves a good bargain...well these little yoghurts are buy one get one free in Sainsburys as I type! They're Ski Smooth Yoghurts, and are delicious. Made by Nestle, they come in blue packs of four with two flavours - strawberry and raspberry sized in 120 gram pots. As the title states, they're smooth versions so contain no 'bits' in them, something that I'm a big fan of as I hate getting little hard bits of fruit stuck in my teeth which can happen with yoghurts with the 'bits' still in them. According to the packaging, "with all natural ingredients and years of experience in blending delicious fruit with creamy tasting yoghurt, Ski yoghurts are just naturally delicious." Very much so! Salomon ST80 limited edition

Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance.
Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).

...Last year (2000) Salomon announced the release of two new skates, the ST90 and the ST80. For some reason Salomon decided to scrap production of the ST80 and released the ST70 (a cheaper model) instead. Last summer Salomon decided to sell off all of there sample models of the ST80 so now these samples are available. Since these are sample skates they were only ever made in one size (uk 8.5) so if this size is too large or too small for you then forget about buying these skates as riding wrongly sized skates can be detrimental to the health of your feet. Out of the box these skates look amazing. The cool blue-grey colour used for the boot is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing of on any of the recent Salomon skates. ...I will never ski on any other ski than these. I love them to pieces. In the 1999/2000 season, Salomon intrigued the ski market by introducing the first twin-tip ski for the consumer. A twin-tip ski is one that is raised at both the tip and the tail, allowing the skier to ski backwards as well as forwards. These skis heralded a revolution in the ski industry, which other ski manufacturers have joined. Disadvantages: some of the online forms are a bit long and clunky

...I used this site last year to find a ski season job in the alps. What I liked about it was that it has a wide range of jobs from different kinds of resort employers. Lots of small chalets as well as large tour operators. You apply online and your application goes direct to employers by email. No middlemen or agencies filtering your CV. During May and June there are new jobs coming on the site almost every day but you can sign up for job alerts so you get an email letting you know what has been posted without having to visit the site. I also found the video zone useful as it gives an insight into the different kind of jobs available. What they are really like with no gloss. Especially like the moonwalker on the ski host video!...
