Lo Salt - High taste!

...I started buying Lo Salt quite a few years ago and quickly got used to the product and never changed back to normal salt. I did not have a specific reason to support my change, I simply wanted to lead a healthier life and seeing my dad always over-using salt when he cooks really made me think I did not want to follow the same pattern in my day to day living. I certainly do not enjoy bland food but I got so much used to not using much salt that for example if I boil veggies or potatoes I do not mind having any salt in them, I woud mind though having to eat pasta without it especially as you cannot add it once this has been cooked, you can only add it while you are in the process of boiling it otherwise you are absolutely ruined!! LIghtly Salted

Advantages: generally okay
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest for hom popcorn, not as good as home popped popcorn

...I eat and enjoy Snack A Jacks regularly and was intrigued by the popcorn from their range so decided to try the lightly salted flavour (which is actually my least favourite flavour of popcorn!). The pretty blue foil packet contains for following: 48 calories 0.1g sugars 1.3g fat 0.2g saturates 0.2g salt Unfortunately I can not see anywhere on this packet how many grams are in the packet but it is enough to fill a small bowl, which is exactly how I served it to enjoy whilst watching a film. The popped kernels of corn are lightly salted and I found that it was much preferable to any salted popcorn I have ever eaten before, probably because cinema popcorn is always over salted or over sweetened for me. This popcorn is suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs. One packet cost around 48p in most UK supermarkets...

...When my boyfriend and I visited Salzburg in Austria, we decided to take a trip to see the Salt Mines. Getting there was very simple when using the Salzburg card and this also mean that the transport was free too (as the Salzburg Card cover this!). Arriving At The Salt Mines Once you arrive at the Salt Mines, which are well signposted, you need to book in at the reception. You pay here and the price was about £3 each which was very reasonable. Once you have paid, you are taken through into a warehouse type building. In here you can leave any valuables such as bags and shopping etc. You are then given some traditional mining clothes to put on. ...What can I say about the most classic and yummy crisps ever!? I bought these crisps in my local supermarket some day last week in a multipack of 6- each bag weighing in at 25g. I regularly buy these crisps as although they are slightly more expensive than other brands/supermarket own brand, they are SOO much more tasty! The crisps themselves are deliciously crunchy and avoid being too thin/thick like some other brands of salted crisps I've tried- these gives a great crunch to them when you are eating them! They have a great salty taste which although gives them a nice flavour, does not go overexcessively salty (like the nasty taste you can get sometimes when you have put the whole sachet of salt in the walkers 'Salt n Shake' crisps) The pack claims to have 3% of my saturates for the day and a whopping 8.5g (12%) of fat overall which...

McCoy's Salt & Malt Vinegar

...There's salt and vinegar crisps...and then there's McCoy's Salt & Malt Vinegar. Accept no imitation. The Pringle is of course, addictive. The Walker is of course an old favourite. But the McCoy is the 'man crisp'... The familiar ridged style crisp is a favourite with pub snacks, but more and more they are becoming a household favourite...especially if I've anything to do with it!! The glossy silver and blue packaging is eye-catching, but as you'd expect, they're not the 'healthiest' of crisps...if such a thing exists!! At 164 calories for each 32 gram bag, there are certainly salt and vinegar crisps out there which can be deemed better for you, but few will match McCoy's for flavour.
